  1. I like it!! Nice looking build!
  2. Moving along. Still dealing with almost everything in this kit being warped.
  3. Big improvement to this kit! It looks great!!
  4. I like what you have done with the sleeper!
  5. I like what you have done with this!
  6. Very impressive work as usual!!
  7. It does appear to be flat to me. There are also variations of the ladders, and the grille is slightly different with sharper angles.
  8. I'm thinking that it might be like you said; "pot luck."
  9. The lettered Firestones came in the GMC General reissue, they came in the KW Mixer reissue, I thought that they were in my reissue of the Peterbilt Wrecker, but I didn’t dig it out. The YouTube unboxing of the wrecker shows Goodyears though. The Ertl/ MPC kits had Goodyears. The two piece 4200 and 4070a tires were also Goodyears. I’m pretty sure that all of the issues of the 4300 that I have, including the AMT release, all have Goodyears. If I am not mistaken one of the AMT truck tire kits has lettered Firestones in it as well.
  10. Looks great! The interior looks amazing!! Excellent work!!
  11. Looks great! Nice work!!
  12. Everything was warped, including the engine block halves, rails, differentials, the stacks, the interior bucket, the bed, etc. I think that the cab was okay though.?
  13. This began with the latest version of the Hideout truck, which was a warped up mess by the way. Bullnose cab is from AITM. I got the bed straightened out and modified. Here is how bad the frame rails were out of the box. Here is a mock up.
  14. Thanks for posting the sectioning. That is exactly how I thought about doing it to save the toolbox on the driver’s side. I was concerned about getting it right with the zigzag cut though. I even considered only cutting the zigzag on the driver’s side since there isn’t a passenger toolbox on my reference trucks. You did an excellent job though! It makes me want to tackle mine some day soon. Excellent work!
  15. First of all excellent work!! I have been wanting to build a cab like this for a while. If you have any pictures of the surgery please post them. I cut down a Freightliner cab in similar fashion to a 72” cab. I’m wanting to do one of these in either Old Dominion or Carolina Freight. They both ran these. On your breather, I may be wrong, but I think that it is just hidden by the camera angle. It may have been one of the shorter straight stacks instead of the one that angles over the cab.
  16. To say that I am impressed would be an understatement! This is amazing work! I can’t wait to see it finished!
  17. Carl I will sure be praying for you in such a difficult time as this. You have been an encouragement to me over the years. I always know that I will get a Christmas card from you and that means a lot. Even when you can’t build, hang around the forum. You never know, when you least expect it, you might be blessing to someone else.
  18. I have been building AMT kits since the 70s. I’m used to seeing a little warpage. The worst that I had seen was an old race trailer kit. That was until I opened the newest version of the Hideout truck. The frame rails are warped, the stacks are warped, the interior bucket is warped. The bed was warped, but after an hour of tweaking, I was able to get it straight. The frame rails seem to be more brittle than the white AMT plastic. I actually broke one trying to get it straight. This was a new sealed kit. Has anyone else had this with this kit? I have a Papa truck kit that I haven’t opened yet. Are they the same? Here is the frame rails straight out of the box. Notice the sharp bend at the spring on the lower one.
  19. This is a Superboss chassis, Movin On Cab, and a Resin Narrow hood from Spaulding. The engine is a twin turbo 8v-92 with an Allison transmission. This was inspired by Wayne Talkington’s 63 KW. Next project will be a hauler.
  20. Just a cool looking build! Nice work!
  21. Looks great! Classic looking paint scheme! Nice work!!
