  1. I have three air brushes and thats why I don't use any of them.
  2. And the problem with that is ??????????
  3. Rare indeed. I've only seen two of the trucks built. Yours is top shelf quality.
  4. On the diecast I took the suspension from, the frame / fenders are a one piece cast metal assembly with the top of the front spindles inserted into predrilled holes. On the model I couldn't leave the top of the spindles hanging in mid air soooo
  5. I needed upper A frames, a front engine mount and a transfer case mount so I cut them from Plastruc sheet. It ain't fancy but they work I also cut the tail shaft housing off the tranny to mount it to the transfer case and shortened the rear drive shaft. This is gonna be a pretty basic back woods 4X4 so I cut a sheet of plywood and some filler strips for a bed floor. Gonna need a step ladder to get into this thing
  6. While waiting on a body for my next large scale build I've been keeping busy with some old stalled 1/25 scale stuff. I got a glue bomb Orange Blossom Special that I hoped to restore but it was just to far gone to fix. Soooo, It's going in a different direction. After disassembly and clean up this is all I'll be using of the glue bomb ... Found this old engine in the parts box. All I'm gonna do is clean it and add distributor and wires. I'll be using the frame from a 55 Chevy step side and 4WD running gear from a diecast ... I filled the hole in the hood and made some sides for it. And a firewall ... Heres the first mock up, Lots of work left to do ...
  7. Kit basher, with a little fabrication / scratch building done out of necessity
  8. Basically the same thing happened to my Titan 90. After screwing up a two tone paint job, five days soaking in three different paint strippers, scrubbed with a coarse bristle brush and this is how it turned out. I turned it into a stick hauler
  9. Supposed to be shiney purple. Three days in the purple pond and some Sophisticated Finishes rust and this is what you get.
  10. Yes it's worth buying. Either to build or kit bash for parts. Plus, because it's a three n one, any way you build it you have parts left over. I do mostly 1/8 scale so I'm eagerly waiting for the coupe's release. With a little kit bashing, some resin parts and imagination you can create a lot of different builds. Heres a few I've built from the kit ... This started with an Exterminator chassis, resin engine & body This also started with an Exterminator chassis & engine with resin body .
  11. "I'd buy five copies for my mother ... "
  12. I've never seen this boat till I bought it a couple of months ago. It'a a weird 1/36th scale.
  13. One of my first builds ... a little dusty ... Converted fire truck ... Never finished ... Drag Combo Hot rodders dream come true Last but not least, a wrecker to pickup the disabled ...
  14. Just playing around I changed the load on the trailer. Kind of a hotrodders dream. A new chopped '32 body and a fresh 327.
  15. Amen !!!!! For the price of a new car you can build a decent hot rod and have it any way you want. Plus you don't have to pony up the big bucks for taxes & insurance or lose 20% of it's value the first day you drive it.
  16. I've been finishing up some stalled builds recently just to clean up my work area. I started this one over a year ago and quit after I screwed up the paint twice. It has custom body work on the front, rear & molded in fender skirts. I stripped it again and said it was getting built no matter how the paint turned out this time. It's not perfect but I'm happy with it. PS, It's a curbside.
  17. Thanks for the comments guys. 45 inches nose to tail.
  18. Thanks guys Ardun heads = yes, Franklin = no. I think its a Halibrand. Gotta feed the beast

  22. I've been staring at the 1/8 scale '47 Ford cab trying to figure out how to build it. Since I have purchased and traded for a lot of junkyard parts over the years I'm going to put them to use. Pocher Alfa straight 8, scratch built frame & anything I can find in the junk box to complete it. they say a picture is worth 1000 words so full build pics with captions here ... http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage/8thscalemodels/junk-yard-dog/
  23. I say one of a kind because I've never seen this resin body built before and for good reason. It was rough when I got it and fought me ever step of the way. 25. We finally got DSL a couple of years ago after getting a petition to ATT. They said there weren't enough people around here to upgrade the lines from dial up. I don't watch much tv so if it wasn't for the internet I'd be completly cut off Harry. Ya know, come to think about it, the way the way the world is, that might not be such a bad thing.
