  1. Well done! I would consider your stock box build as an excellent level build
  2. Nicely done, very well executed box build
  3. Simply incredible... Everything has already been said to how perfect your craftsmanship is. In the almost 45 years I've been building, you sir are a true Master Model Craftsman beyond anything I've seen.
  4. Very NICE build. Well done engine swap too. I like everything about this one.

Great looking paint work, the color fits this build nicely. I have this kit and after seeing yours, may need to dig it out and do a quick nice looking Pro-Touring build like yours, well done!
  6. Excellent build, detailing is spot on.
  7. Very nice, well done hot-rod Tim. Good luck at the NNL show, one day I'll make it out there
  8. Nice job on these "Snappers" I have built a number of these Snappers too, as "mind-breaks" in between the big builds. The details are sometimes as well done as the detail kits have, sometimes the same tool. I did the Snap Convertible, fun build and actually one of my favorites.
  9. Thanks for the comments. Yes, after the picture was taken I noticed and did remove the front bumper and correctly aligned. I will be taking new pics this weekend. The rear bumper I painted the lower color to align with the lower cut down of the red along the sides below the chrome trim. The Graphite rear bumper I tried and didn't particularly like the all graphite rear. The red rear bumper added a upper-lower contrast, I prefer. Harry, I did make custom side mirrors though!
  10. My first Tri-Five build. This is the old Revell kit with the crummy molded chassis. I did a lot of mods to this version of a Pro-Touring restomod. Left the body stock - Paint is Duplicolor Graphite top and tail and spear. Front is Duplicolor Gun Metal Gray with Tamiya Clear Red over that. 6-coats of Wet Clear all polished and buffed. Lot's of BMF where chrome needed to be. Hand made custom side mirrors from tear-drop aluminum stock. PE door handles. Completely custom made interior. I used the stock tub, molded in a 1991 C4 Vette dash, center console and door panels. Molded in rear buckets with molded console and C4 front buckets. Made my own suede color mix paint for the interior. Chassis, I built a custom pan and installed the IRS from a C4 rear and front suspension, along with C4 exhaust and custom aluminum tips from tear-drop aluminum stock. Wheels are stock C4 ZR1 wheel I inserted into Pegasus chrome sleeves, I think it gives it a "stock-custom appearance. Engine is C4 ZR1 with custom made dual-horn aluminum cold air intake. hand made radiator. I think I gave this old kit a fresh updated restomod appearance. Before After Build pic chassis Custom pan, exhaust, fuel tank and C4 IRS
  11. nicely done! I owned one just like this for a few months back in the early 80's
  12. Assuming you might be saying that about the Torino, thank you Harry, I have period correct Ford mirrors painted and going on this weekend...
  13. Joe, thanks for the compliment. The paint is Duplicolor Electron Blue Pearl Metallic with lots of Duplicolor clear coats polished and final heavy coats of Model Master Wet Look Clear polished and buffed.
  14. Ken, I got really lucky on this kit. Yes, this one is the Johan Snaptite kit, no engine and low level detail. This one was a junk-yard paint bomb off ebay, missing front grill and bumpers. Lucky to have ordered those from Modelhaus one of the last days they were taking orders a few months ago, and lucky they must have had them in stock since I got them so quickly decided to move this one up on the build list.
  15. Thanks everyone for the nice comments, much appreciated
  16. Real nice build. Color combo is spot on, nice attention to details
  17. Just painted 1972 Grand Torino Sport - Duplicolor Electron Blue Pearl Metallic with lot's of polished and buffed clear coats
  18. Got an ebay junk-yard snaptite kit awhile back, missing front grill-bumper and rear bumper and as a paint-bomb. Lucky one of the last days to order from Modelhaus I ordered the grill and bumpers, and just received them last week, so decided to do a quick build of this hard to find model. Painted with Duplicolor Electron Blue Pearl Metallic and many polished and buffed Duplicolor clear coats. Added BMF and custom wheels, this little junker turned out okay, one of my better paint jobs considering I got globbed with paint.
  19. Just found this thread re-newed posting. Wow. I'm blown away by the talent of what I see here. My share to scratch built is a complete model I designed first on paper for a highschool design class and as my Senior final project built a model, I was 16-17 years old. This is it as I built this from sheet plastic, Plastic-wood filler and Squadron green putty. The only "kit" parts are the engine from an old F1 model and some interior pieces and wheel and tires. Airbrushed with silver base, red graphics and shot transparent blue over all to acheive a wild 80's concept car paint job.
  20. The most incredible model I've ever seen. It should be cherished as a work of art. A true craftsman you are John
  21. Duplicolor Graphite top with Tamiya Clear Red over Duplicolor Gun Metal Gray for the red. 8 coats of Wet Clear.
  22. You know I added that just for you... Took all of a few minutes to whip up a little mirror, and yes it does add more of a realistic touch, thanks for the reminder tip to all of us
  23. This was a fun couple of days quickie build of a 57 Belair I just finished. Traditional colors, lot's of BMF, detailed the interior with tape-piping, deep dish staggered custom wheels and handmade side mirror, as I understand mirrors make a model more realistic..
