  1. well done! especially the grill work you created, make the Bird so much nicer. Your skills are excellent, the paint work looks great
  2. wow! the paint work in these posts are amazing! we have a lot of craftsmanship here Tamiya TS-Clear Red over gold base with Tamiya Pearl Clear
  3. Thanks, yeah big improvement over the gold. I guess when I first got those gold wheels I thought they would look good with that Aztec Gold paint. Revell is coming out Q4 with a level 4 C7 which I understand is more like the C6 ZR1 Revell kit.... Can't wait
  4. Actually built this last Fall but with gold center Pegasus wheels. Didn't like how those looked and decided to color change to dark gray, and added some more offset to the rear wheels. Now I think it looks more like the C7 Z06. Painted with Model Master Aztec Gold with Tamiya Pearl Clear BEFORE with Gold wheels AFTER
  5. Excellent build, nice workmanship and details
  6. Thanks Mike, you noticed the hood bulge, not many pick up on that detail, it's exactly like the Hot Wheel car. I didn't do the hood detail on the Custom Cougar prior to painting but thinking about crafting a set and attaching to the hood. All other builds I will be more attentive to the hood detail as I was on the T-Bird.
  7. real nice! I like the look you got with the stance
  8. wow! I like it! Nice body work and paint
  9. Thanks Kerry, it was a fun build I did for a build-off last year. The wheels are these and I trimed them to insert into Pegasus 23" aluminum sleeves On ebay, several sellers out of Japan
  10. It's always about decisions! I did a 63 roadster custom last year and at first wanted to do a split-window coupe. So I cut off the top of a bone-yard body 63 and made it fit like a hard-top for the roadster.
  11. wow! that's very unique and cool. Lot's of custom touches going on and that color!
  12. excellent! turned out real nice
  13. very nice, that color is awesome on this body style
  14. That's a real nice blend... The C1 62 is perfect for grafting a C2 top to. Perhaps if the C1 62 design endured a few years longer we may have seen that.
  15. Jason, I simply placed two exacto blades side-by-side with a piece of paper between them in my exacto holder, taped a long section about 18" of high-quality masking tape to my cutting board, using a metal straight edge just ran the twin-blades through the masking tape and instant 1/64" stripe tape
  16. Liking the flares and the relocated door line, you're in the right direction for a real nice custom build
  17. Very nice. These quickie builds are fun to do and turn out nice for display.
  18. The Thruster Mags are my choice of what you show. With the larger tire diameter, it appears you will need to enlarge the wheel well openings?
  19. Nice photo mock up Russell, that really looks good, I think the flares, mild, could work with the body
  20. Not bashing in on your post, but I did a C3 with mild flares and you can just make them look good right along the door seam. I also think the longer window is a good idea with the long Shark shape of the Mako C3
  21. Right! This is a nice blend, kinda like the '62 C1 was a blend just ahead of the C2 63 Stingray with the similar rear end, making the '62 my favorite C1
  22. Kerry, I understand better now with plans for rear wheel flares, so yeah, that would work better to move the rear jamb forward. Although, would this create an issue if the doors were to open, would ingress of an actual driver be impeded since the seats are aligned with the C3 door opening length? Of course the beauty of building in plastic lets us do anything we want, my favorite part, as it must be yours as well.
  23. Al, this turned out simply cool, cool, cool... At first I wasn't sure what color combo direction you were going when you showed it in paint stage, but gotta tell ya, it just works... another well done Al
  24. Noticed the same, can't exactly pin it, almost looks a bit to tall in the hat. Someone else noted the front grill porpotions appear off too. Al, as always, your finshed build is awesome, great job, again...
