  1. Had me goin' Mike. I got ya now.....health food re-supply!!!! Been to the Michael's, no kit deals like Ollie's.
  2. I've seen some 1:1 old dragsters use a model t rear spring on the front, they have a higher center arch to raise the car. Another trick to raise or lower the front or rear is blocks between spring mount and frame. Have also seen on cars such as a '40 ford (The spring is behind or in front of the axles) much longer spring shackles used to lower the car.
  3. I cry foul......An Earnhardt fan and ALL those F-1 and Indy kits????? Yes, jealous!!!!!
  4. After going to the Greenville, S.C. Ollies first time (Nabbed the Bull T and Bill Golden Mopar), stopped for a third time and they had the slingsters!!!!! Only took 3. Great american wheels(12 spokes), small blocks, driver figure, some neat goodies in this kit. Kinda weird, I thought the sale was only Lindberg's.
  5. Do you guys have a secret for painting tube style dragster frames? I can get a decent coat on the top frame tubes but it always looks slightly oversprayed or even dirty on the lower tubes. Maybe try airbrushing at a lower pressure? It seems very common on most of the dragster photos on here.
  6. Jimmy Flintstone has some neat figures, unpainted but pretty neat.
  7. Thank you guys, been lurking on this forum for awhile. You all are a REAL inspiration!!!
  8. I saw a couple of internet pics where a guy was polishing it. I asked him if he could talk to the owner about sending me more photos. I havn't heard back from him. I believe the guys detail shop was in Florida. Thank you for the complements fellas!!!!!
  9. This came about in a weird way. After rummaging through a Carl Casper Cosmic Charger for spare parts I was surfing the internet and this Super Mustang came up. I had never known this car even existed. The more I compared the bodies they seemed fairly similar. Thought I'd give it a try. The origional was built late '66 or as the magazine is dated April '67. The only measurements I could go by was wheelbase, total length and body height. There are a good number of pics on the internet and the Car Craft mag. helped with reference phtos. This is my first w.i.p.......be gentle and thanks for looking.
  10. Not my daily ride, but I love her. Not a kit car!
  11. Thanks for the link Steve, I was hoping my tires were useable. They look a bit like your kit tires. That's a great price!!!!! I'll get a set.
  12. I just scored one on the bay. Were your new tires pretty salty($$)? They look great. I'll be following your build. The back of the dash/gauge panel looks cool with the properly gauged wire!!!!
  13. Great show and vendors. Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!
  14. Brad, that hemi looks like a different motor!!!! What kind of BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH did you run into? I saw the headers glued to the side of the block. Did it all come apart fairly easily? Never done a glue bomb so I'm curious. Thanks for the info.
  15. My grail too. When I first saw the 3 kits I couldn't figure out the chrome thingie coming out of the roof( Rollbar) of the 34.
  16. Hey Tim, I'm diggin' those front tires!! When you say kitbashed......borrowed from another kit or ? Thanks for the info.
  17. Steve, your hot rod knowledge shows. Great car, I especially like the slightly leaking flatty!!
  18. Great craftsmanship and yes, a model of a pallet jack!!!! The Dornier 335 was from a Japanese manufacturer. The engine block had pistons and rods molded in, unbelievable detail from the factory.
  19. I was pretty stoked about the chopper until............SQUARE forktubes?!?! UGGGGH I'll probably snag a few anyway!!! Is it a shovel or ?
  20. Thanks for posting this Darin. I enjoy the "Reviews"/ Discussions on the older kits. I've actually been thinking about getting into the old indy kits and always was curious about the contents.
  21. Nice job on this little guy!!! Beautiful base also. Any more figures in your stash? Love to see more.
  22. Jeff, you nailed it!!!! Sits perfect, colors perfect, wheels, details, stop me when you've heard enough. One question, where do the front tires come from? Heck, even those look like period Avons!!!!
