  1. Seems to me that there must be a standard color code for gases under pressure. Labels can go removed, scratched off, etc.. leaving a possible dangerous situation. Every commercial nitrogen bottle that I have seen is green.
  2. I found a site about an invitational only, "master builders challange" to take place in 2011. Have any of you folks been invited? If so, what are you going to build, unless it is a secret of course?
  3. I can't get them from my PC to photobucket. I must need some special download or something. Still experimenting.
  4. Hey Jason, I'm a grandpa and would never have had spokes on my street coupe. Leave em solid or in paint.
  5. I'm not nearly as experienced as the guys who have already answered, but. I would try putting it hot water for awhile, inverting it on a towel and adding some weight, a few paint bottles, to the affected area. The towel should allow it to go past level.
  6. Before clear coat or after? If future is used after BMF, will it dull the shine?
  7. Very nice. Try googling House of color. Will take you to on line sites that you can order from.
  8. O.K. guys, my mistake. Added charge is for "pro". But, now on to the next problem. I am completly PC dumb. I have windows xp home addition. Can anyone walk me through how to get the photos to photobucket? They have a tutorial, but I can't understand it. I can log on and select photos from "my photos" but can't get them transfered. Gotta be some dumb thing that I'm not doing.
  9. AMEN
  10. I build model cars as one of my several hobbies. To me, a hobby is something that I do with my hands to relax in my spare time. My building skills are limited, so "detail", to me, is just adding plug wires and maybe fuel lines. Heck, I don't even worry about getting the firing order right. I find it much easier, at my level, to come up with a nice paint job, so that's where I spend most of my effort. That being said, I really appreciate the super detailed models shown here. Gives me something to shoot for.
  11. WOW!!!!! Just un-real.
  12. Hey Gregg, Just tried to join photo bucket to post some pictures. Not cars, but my first ever try at a diorama. "Used car lot" which you guys have helped me through. Not great, but just wanted to show you what came of it. Photo bucket want's an on going charge of $9.90 per month for "prize drawings". Not interested in their prizes, just wanted to post some photos free. Is this just a scam or what?
  13. Guys, you have all been really helpfull, but, I only asked "what time is it?" not how to build a clock. I appreciate the knowledge and skill levels that you all have, but I am a novice. I'm going with the "paint them gold and add some amber overcoat". Something that I can handle. Thanks again.
  14. Don't know if this will help, since the damage has been done, but will forward a masking tip that I found here. Was directed at two tones, but seems to fit this situation. Mask the area to be painted with the new color. Re-shoot the edge with the original color. This should "seal" the edge so that any "leakage" will be the original color, not the new one. I have tried it and it works great. Sharp and clear division of colors.
  15. Great ideas, then and now. Duece sure looks Barris inspired.
  16. Not a chance Raul, my stuf is junk. You guys have PHDs and MBAs. I'm still in day care, but will really enjoy seeing the great work that you all do "live".
  17. Just bringing myself. Want to see up close some of the work that I've seen on this site, and meet some of their makers.
  18. Trying to put my head back into the early 60s drag scene. Can't remember the difference between A/M (modified) and A/A (altered). Think it was a wheel base thing. But no. No radiators required, if I can recall, but my clubs coupe did have a small tank for coolant. Back then you didn't really know how much time that you had at the staging area before your run.
  19. O.K. My building skills are minimal. I can get parts together without glue running all over the place, and can apply a decent paint job. I can add some basic wiring and fuel lines. But then, for me, it ends. I am at a lose at detailing interiors, engine bays, dash boards, engine parts, and running gear. I have just aquired an air brush set up but am far from proficient with it. How much detail work do you guys do with brushes? And any tips? Not building contest cars, but really would like to advance my skill level.
  20. Diode, I have. Anode, I can get. Have a bath tub. What voltage and amperage?
  21. Thanks all, but I like this idea. Seems like something that a novice like me could handle. Not building show cars, would just like them to look a little more real.
  22. Don't know if this will help, but.... Evergreen scale models has both building siding which might be used by rounding off the sharp edges, and rod of various diameters. They might even have half rounds, don't know, but might be worth looking at.
  23. Best way to change chrome spru carbs color to realistic?
  24.  BECAUSE HE COULD!!!!!
  25. I am constantly in awe at the skills shown on these forums. Paint, detail, and creativity are exceptional. Therefore I issue the following challenge. Build and show an Edsel. Don't know if plastic or resin kits or die cast are available. If not, modify some other Fords or scratch build. No rules. Custom, low rider, funny car, pro street, or whatever. Just post ideas, concepts, and progress please. Any takers?
