Great to see efforts to keep the competitive juices flowing during this "pandemic". But sure would have been nice to include light and heavy truck/commercial modelers........ -

That is an absolutely superb build you have going on there! It truly looks like you have a miniaturization machine hidden away someplace..........come on, share it with us!!! Truly beautiful work! -
Thank you..........and it's a double Detroit too! Thanks, yeah, it's gonna be HUGE! Thanks Charlie, got a LOT to do, and the time to do it lately has been zero, but gonna keep tryin'!!! Thanks Gator! The prototype is rear drive. Got lots to do and no time available to do it! Thank you. Updates will get there, soon I hope! Happy to share and thank you for the good words! One step at a time!

Yup, that's the beauty of this forum..................you don't get forced to agree with another poster. What works fine for one is different for another. I have some items from the Ukraine, and while very nice, some of the detail appears to me, at least, to be a bit soft on the edges. I like the sharpness of the iceman items, and, personally, I don't want to buy an engine kit and not massage it a bit myself to get the appearance I want. Freedom to choose....................it's a wonderful thing!

Utterly fantastic work Charles. Haven't had much time for anything these days, but whenever I can, I MAKE the time to check your posts out. You teach others so well, for example, on the window gaskets. It works perfectly, and saved me many hours of hair pulling on the Galion crane I built. Thank you, as always for sharing so much! -
I have gotten 3D items that look great in photos, but look like weathered plywood in person. I have a bunch of icemans work, and I have to say, it is great. Perhaps his eBay photos are of lesser quality but the items I have show no pinholes, and will need little, if any, smoothing prior to use. So, based on the photos I have enclosed of the actual items I bought, I’m happy. To each their own!

Very nicely done, and spot on in accuracy when looking back to when I did this kind of work for a construction company, never on a D9R, but on a D8L, Terex 82-80 and many, many smaller and differing pieces of equipment. Beautiful! And far neater than our actual work area was!

Waiting for mine to arrive! -
Makes a great product. Have several of his grilles, and they are great. Just went to his web page...................has 52 different products listed for Custom, Dodge, Ford and GM. Unfortunately 49 of them are marked as sold out. Pity.

FANTASTIC!!! Can't wait to get one! -
Seems to me that the original cab they were molding is MUCH closer, if not identical, to the real deal that the so called replacement. Hope they come through for you Brian. I have one of the originals and it is simply beautiful.

Nicely done, Brian, and weathering is top notch! But, gotta ask, did it hurt much to NOT put a Detroit in her? LOL! -

Duplicated post from PayPal thread, sorry

Yes it IS a long time. As an FFL dealer, we can use USPS to ship handguns, (only dealers can us them for handguns), and it is always less costly, and almost always faster than UPS or FedEx. Except this time!

eBay is trying to force sellers into using their new "managed payments". eBay is saying that if you do not choose to use MP, that the viewability of items you have for sale will be limited. The buyers may use PayPal to pay, but the payment goes to eBay, where it is then sent to the seller's bank account. Where in the past, I would sell something on eBay, the buyer would use PayPal, and I would have my funds within minutes of the payment being made. Now, the buyer pays, lets say on the 23rd, and eBay finally gets around to sending it to my bank 4 days later. My bank, who also believes in the policy of using the float, finally posts it to my account a days later. And my money is working it's tail off making money for eBay and my bank. All the while, eBay sends me a note, saying the item has been paid for so I should ship it on the 23rd. Seems to me that the item is MINE, but eBay has the funds on the 23rd, not me. So..............I have adjusted all of my auctions to reflect a five day handling period after payment. This allows me to retain possession of MY item until I receive MY funds. What it also does is upset my buyers as to why they have to wait so long to get the item they paid promptly for. I tell them exactly why. Perhaps if the buyers complain to eBay about this, they may fix it. Lord knows eBay does not care about the sellers, or they would not be charging a Final Value Fee on shipping charges AND sales tax collected by......................eBay, and sitting on the funds that belong to the SELLERS for so long to squeeze even more out of the seller's pockets. eBay = greed.

Beautiful cab right there Charlie! Is this one going to get molded? Sure hope so! -
We sent a firearm via USPS Priority mail from our shop in MA to a dealer in CT on December 2nd. It went to Springfield MA, then to NJ, and back and forth between NJ and Springfield 6 times, before it finally arrived where it belonged in CT on January 22nd. Yet, I ordered a bunch of resin items from KFS in England that was shipped from there on January 13th, and it arrived on the 19th. Amazing, totally amazing.

The issues with scratch building
redneckrigger replied to IbuildScaleModels's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I tried my first scratchbuild project a couple years ago, when I found myself bored with out-of-the-box builds. And, I was VERY inspired by those talented builders, especially Charlie Rowley, who I saw right here on these forums, as well as at shows such as NNL East. I had always assumed that dreams of building some of this stuff was just that, dreams. But, I figured, nothing ventured, nothing gained. So, I gave it a go, and have built a Galion roller, Galion hydraulic crane, detachable gooseneck lowboy, a Barber Greene paver, and am now working on a Link Belt 82 ton crane. Each project has been a few steps more away from my comfort zone. So far, I have pretty much stayed with plastic, and a few aluminum or brass tubing shapes, as well as several resin castings from reputable suppliers. I have found that Evergreen has pretty much allowed me to do anything I want. I hope to progress to soldering brass someday as well as making my own resin molds for various parts, as these skills will greatly extend the possibilities for various builds. It is a great joy to build something that I have never seen before in 1/25 scale. I tend to build trucks and construction equipment, based upon those I worked with before I retired from the construction industry. I also tend to be a hoarder.......................if I see something that I feel MAY be able to be re-purposed in a build, some day..............it goes into a box of goodies. Scratchbuilding has allowed me to take a great hobby that I have enjoyed for over 55 years, and bring it to a level FAR above anything I imagined as possible. Give it a try! You never know what you can do until you attempt it. I have not yet hit a wall where I could not figure something out, or get advice from a fellow builder. Nothing is impossible! -

VERY well done. The color is perfect and the weathering is authentic as well. NICE!
