Heres what drives me meantal.....when people say, "Its box stock except for, plug wires, wheels, tyres....and so on. 2) When people mix kit chrome with some other chrome paint on body parts!, wheels are okay, but photo-etch parts CAN be painted too!!!, and either strip ALL the chrome to redo it, or leave it...they DONT go together well. -
Forgot to say; after these parts, its time for body fitment...
-
The control arm parts are all finally done, test-fitted, and FINALLY ready for paint!!, I also cut-out the molded air filters, so that I can make my own along with the back side of the air box.
-
I have an intermission update, while my eyes relax a bit. Almost done with the control arm supports!!...just have to make the lower ear mount on the upper control arms, then I can move on to scratchbuilding the two backsides of the air boxes that connect to the turbos!......then its body fitment time FINALLY!!!!
-
Since i'm on the verge of starting the body, thought I would share these photos of the kolor it will be. Even the interior is the same kolor....minus the aluminum. The kolor is Duplicolor Pewter Metallic.
-
I'm glad you got that figured out, bud!!
-
Heres the mission statement for today......finish scratchbuilding the control arm supports, and paint all the recent parts so that I can move onto the final phase......the body!!
-
Thanks, Tim!!!, i'm glad you are liking it!, I just wanna show people that this kit CAN be built the way they intended it to be.....with necessary mods. I get my references from all over the interweb, and youtube.

Thanks, Eric!!!, I don't really know how to respond to the comparison, other than the fact that we ALL have our own building styles, and that I don't always go this all-out on my builds. Thank you for the compliment though!!

Those are appreciated too, bud!!!

Thought i'd give an "intermission" update as I watch paint dry. Finished wiring-up the engine, and tiding things up. Almost done with the E-brake brackets, and now decided to scratchbuild more factory-like fluid caps with tiny notches around them. Its too bad you can barely see them, but they are there. I literally had to glue them upside down with canopy glue, just so I could sand them all uniformly. The rest of todays mission is: paint the belly-pan, paint the driveshafts, finish the fuel lines, and scratchbuild the two rear Control-arm supports that are missing. Thanks again for looking-in!

Another "Intermission" update here; I have the exhausts installed, and was pleasantly surprised at how easily they went in, considering the O2 sensors, and other extra details I added. the trick to making the exhaust step easier, is to NOT add glue first!, get them fit where you want them, and then flow super glue into the VERY slight gap at the turbos. Don't use Tamiyas thin glues, they wont work, and you need the super glue to not only fill the gap, but also be strong enough to hold while you flex the four tailpipes together. It doesn't take much to flex them together either, which is a nice surprise!...I wont be doing this step until much later, in case I have to tweak the exhaust tips, and flange/collector.....it very possibly could be part of the rear cowls fitment issues. Before I forget, I still HAVE NOT glued the exhaust to the hangers, I will do that later, after i'm 100% sure everything is spot-on.

I finally have an update!!! I scratchbuilt some E-brake cables, better fuel injectors, wired-up a bunch more, added bolts to the bell housing so that the tranny looks like it was actually bolted on.....cant believe that the rest of the tranny has CRAZY detail.....30 molded in bolts, but 0 for the bell-housing!?!! wth?!! next I will be attaching the exhaust pipes!!
