I have this kit too. Sadly, they didn't change the interior or include a roll cage. Car and Driver had a nice article on the real car back in the day. I had initially thought about doing a detailed model by combining this with a Tamiya RX-7. It would be a ton of work. The car had quite a few modifications.

I tried the 91% alcohol. for some of the small bits of "stuff" it helped to wipe it off. I tried soaking and it seemed to affect the resin, so I took everything out and dried it. I also tried some Super Clean, but so far that's having no effect. I may try the freezing thing. The tire goo doesn't seem to have bonded to the resin, it's just to soft and sticky to easily peel off.

To anyone who has Australian Cavalier resin kits. You might want to open them and check them. I hadn't looked at mine for a while and today I found that in some, the tires had melted into a thick black goo! This is made worse by the fact that they pack the tires in with other parts, so I now have a pile of parts covered in sticky black tar-like stuff that I have to try and figure out how to get off. All of these kits have been stored indoors, so it's not a heat issue.

Does anyone make resin fender well headers? I need them for a 57 Ford, but I would imagine ones for a 55-57 Chevy (small-block) would work. The exhaust ports on a 312 Ford are the same layout as a small-block Chevy. Do any kits have these? I'm looking for something that would be used on a junior stocker.

Model Car Garage is going to be doing a PE set for this kit.

Kudos to Don and Carol for the work they've done for all these years! There are some great casters out there, but no one provides what Modelhaus does. I've bought many kits and builts over the years and it's always been a given that any missing parts could be replaced with ones from Don. That service will be hard to replace, not to mention all the unique kits they produce. It's great that they're giving two years notice. It shows the kind of people they are. I wouldn't be surprised if they get a ton of orders.

Does anyone besides JBot make decals for the Movin On Kenworth? JBot's website says they'll be back in May 2014 and that was almost a year ago. He never answers emails either.

Chuck, you're correct. The 385 series (370/429/460) wouldn't have been used in the N-Series trucks. The correct gas engines would be the FE-series 361/391 or the 401/477/534 "Super Duty" series engines.

I think it'll probably be a cool kit, but there has been a 29 roadster available for years! Everything needed to build both of those versions could be found. I'd prefer they do something that has never been done before. Maybe they'll at least do a coupe at some point.

That's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for! I've purchased the 392 Hemi and 427 SOHC engines that Mark makes and they're great! I didn't know he did that one as well. I'll send him an email.

In case you get another kit with gold chrome, the "gold" can sometimes be removed with denatured alcohol if your careful.

According to Ed Sexton, it's supposed to be identical to the original except for the "Cadillac" lettering on the valve covers. He also said it would be molded in blue, but probably not the original shade of blue. I hope the parts that were molded in white in the original kit still are. I didn't think to ask him. Replicas and Miniatures Co of MD. offers resin copies of the original valve covers if anyone wants to make a 100% authentic version

Aurora was planning a 1/16 426 Hemi for their "Racing Scenes" series. 1/8 scale masters were made of the parts, but it never progressed past that. I believe someone used to offer resin copies of these back in the 90's. I've seen the test shots of the Revell 1/4 scale 283 Chevy and they looked great! I don't know why they never issued the kit. I know they had a deal with Chrysler at the time and did the slant 6 engine, maybe that had something to do with it?

My kit did not include the iron-on. Not a big deal to me, but it's curious that it was missing. Is it another one of those deals where only one kit per case has one? I know round 2 has done that in the past. My biggest issue was the frame was slightly warped and twisted. Has anyone else noticed frame warpage?

I picked up a 1/43 Peterbilt kit over the weekend. It looks really detailed for the small scale. Anyone here ever built one?

Does anyone make modern style 5 spoke drag rims? I'm looking for Bogart or Weld Racing style rims for a Mustang Cobra Jet project.

What is the difference in length between the short hood and the long one? Would the extra length be removed from behind the front fenders? I'm also assuming that by doing this, the cab would have to be moved forward by the same amount removed from the hood. Is that correct?

Would the Monogram 1/16 make a decent Movin On replica? It has the double sleeper like the TV truck and looks similar in photos. Someone is making 1/16 decals.

Are any resin casters working on a hatchback conversion for the Revell LX Mustang? I'd love to have one to build a replica of my 89.

What's the difference between a Cummins Formula 350 / 400 and an NTC 350 / 400? Are they completely different engines or versions of the same engine?

Thanks for the responses! A little more detail, I need the donor for a KFS Ford CL9000. On the box it says: "most Italeri or Revell 1/24 generic US truck chassis (Freightliner FLD-120, # 3814 recommended). I'm not typically a big rig builder, but I'm a Ford fan and I like cabover trucks, so this kit seemed a natural (despite it's high price).

I recently bought a resin conversion that calls for the use of an Italeri Freightliner FLD120 for a chassis donor. Since this kit is currently discontinued, do any other Italeri big rigs share a chassis with this kit? I've heard that Italeri uses a "generic" chassis for some of their kits.
