  1. I've been in contact with Sean Mason from Multimatic Motorsports and the correct grey for the Mustang is Ford Stealth Grey (E9) from the 2017 Ford Focus RS.
  2. The large pic of the GT4 is the RC car that Hiroboy stuck up on their site. The smaller pics of the grey and white car together are the actual 1/24 kit. The engine looks to be just the bottom half and the tranny but I'm sure there will be a TK at some point of the top half....HD could easily do this as they just did it for the AMG and would not be surprised to see them do that and a PE set. I'd like to see a road version of this car, GT350/or R model. I have a diecast that has an interior and I'm going to try to see if it'll fit when this is finally released.
  3. This is my entry into the 14th Annual 24 HRS of Daytona Facebook Group build. This was my fifth year participating and my fourth year in a row completing the build within the 24hr window. Kit is Tamiya's GT-R (R34) 2003 spec car done in a fantasy livery. Paint is Gravity Colors Falken Green and Blue. As well as the new Tamiya LP's (white on the interior and wheels, flat black on the rest of the chassis and interior. Clear is ProForm's Automotive 2K clear. Decals are from NuNu's BMW M6 GT3 kit along with kit decals and a few extras from the parts box. Kit went together like a dream. No issues at all. Decals worked well and again no issues with application. Issues...I've had a cold for 3 weeks now, and of course in the middle of the night it hit me back hard and I lost about 6 hrs of build due to a Dristan induced coma. I managed to finish with minutes to spare so there are a few details I would have like to have gotten better, hence the reason for the weathering to hide some of the flaws. Please excuse the weathering, it needs a good "blow off" as I put the weathering right before taking pics as I was pressed to finish on time. The biggest issue was the difference in colour between the NuNu kit decals and the Gravity Blue. Had I been doing this as a normal build I would have use the scallop decal to make a mask and then masked off the green before spraying the blue. Other than that, I'm fairly happy with the results. Comments and criticisms always welcome.
  4. Scott. I just mounted the T37s to the Supra tires today and the fit is a bit tight but doable if you press them in slowly and carefully on the lip and not by the center insert (2 piece wheels). They are female fitment tho (Aoshima/Fujimi) so I took the chrome wheels from the Supra kit, cut the center hub down so I had the male pin left then sanded the top face flat. Then on the HD centers I sawed off the female end (theres a lip at the base of the female pin and you can cut it flush to that lip) then sanded that flat then glued the male Tamiya pin to the back of the HD wheel center then glued that to the outer ring. The HD wheels fit the Supra perfect now ( I'll take some pics when I get home from work in the am). The HD wheels actually stretch the Supra tires a bit giving them a bigger appearance and filling up the wheel wells completely making the car look a squatter than stock. Pretty happy with them all in all. I'll see if I can find a set of the GTR tires when I get home in the morning and see how they TE37s fit them. They should as I think the GTR's tires are a bit bigger than the Supras.
  5. Nice project. Love the TE37's. I just got a set in the mail today to use on my 2020 Supra. How do they fit in the GTR kit tires? Watching for updates. And I love that orange.
  6. I'm in again this year. This will be my fifth year. So far I'm 3 for 4 on completing during the 24hr window. It's totally doable. And it's a lot of fun and surprising how much you can get done in the 24hr if you focus and set yourself goals. My build from last year. Tamiya's Ford GT done in Gravity Colors 2K white primer and Ford Liquid Red and then topped off with 2K automotive clear. All in, 19hrs. And I slept for a few hours during the red flag time. And my entry for this year. Tamiya GTR-R34 with Falken livery, paint by Gravity again, same process as last year. I might have a bit more of a challenge this year with all the decals, but that's the fun for me. Join up and give it a shot. It's not contest, just a personal challenge. With everyone that builds posting through the night, it helps with the motivation.
  7. Great job Scott. It looks fantastic.
  8. I'll be honest, I didn't like the looks of the car at first, but it has since grown on me a lot. I too don't car about the "it's a BMW"...blah blah blah.....this is not the first time, nor will it be the last that car manufacturers share ideas. It's a cool looking car with a BMW motor...so what? I think it will look great in Gun Metal Ben. Personally I'm not a fan of this car in red. Black is ok, white isn't bad but grey or metallics look much better on this car for some reason to me. My first one should be delivered tomorrow, I'm going with Downshift Blue on mine I think. I have that blue colour and Turbulence Grey from Splash Paints for my builds. And maybe a few aftermarket parts here and there too. Looking forward to an update.
  9. I got a set as well and yes, he had issues with the molds. He got a bad batch of resin from his supplier and it basically welded itself to his molds (I'm going of memory of our conversation on this) so he had to remake a few molds. This all happened right around the time his health was truly going south. Hopefully he can make a recovery and get back to making his products, he has some great stuff that no one else is doing. Get well soon Jeremy.
  10. A really close match on your wheels Brian. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Aoshima-1-24-Rim-Tire-Set-82-AVS-Model-F7-20-05516/223139884953?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
  11. Agree, love the colour, who's is it? Cream or parchment would look good imo.
  12. Well I live in Ontario and I can say that likely this was a farmer moving the trailer from one farm to another (just a guess) cause this is total Farmer Style.
  13. Small update Body mods under way. Roof is off, I still need to figure out the corners and what I'm going to use for a rear window. For wheels and tires I'm going with a set of BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A's I got off Shapeways. They're suppose to be 1/24 scale but they're small but they seem to look ok on this. I may use some different ones once I get the chassis rolling and see what the stance looks like. For now a couple pics. Comments and criticisms always welcome.
  14. Got my Revell Land Rover in the mail today.....finally But as cool as it is, I just can't do it as is, it's too Plain Jane looking for me, so I'm doing a custom version. Won't be exactly like this, but definitely my inspiration for what I'm trying for. Going to try to get some done over night tonight, but first, time for a nap, need to stay on my work schedule. Let me know what you think on colour choices, I am liking the grey/black combo.
  15. Just to clarify the "twist" rule.... we can update the car engine/interior/tires/suspension as long as the car looks like the movie car?
  16. Well I'm in. I've got this sitting at home and I've been putting off building it for a couple years now. I have enough parts to do 2 kits ( one Scale Production and one other resin body) and several of the AMT donor kits. So I'll do an "Eleanor" car but modified for the Cannonball race (bigger fuel cell and better seat etc), as well as an actual movie car) I'll post pics of my goodies once home, but for now,
  17. Yep. Worth it. Very nice Scott.
  18. Too bad about the clear Jonathan....it happens to all of us. Nice progress looks good and looks like a good kit. Still waiting for mine to arrive. Likely hiding out in Toronto in a warehouse.......Canada Customs is just brutal...have I mentioned that before? Nice not on the tires too. Good to have those little nuggets shared. Thanks.
  19. Dang Scott. Just Stop. You're raising the bar on this kit. Amazing man, absolutely amazing. I really hope that the clear cleans up that milky film. I'm holding off on mine to see how yours turns out. Great work on the kevlar decals in the wheel wells. Looking forward to the next update.
  20. These guys did the same thing when the Ford GTLM was released. I ordered one of their first round for like $25US then once those were sold out their second round jump to like $32US. After a few rounds at that price they dipped again once craze had died down some and since then their relisting of the Fords have stayed around $25, I expect the Land Rover's will do the same.
  21. Jason Stonebrook does NASCAR decals, and he has a HUGE inventory he can print out. If you want a CUSTOM set, he charges a flat rate of like $50 for the graphic design (at least thats what it was last time I checked) If there's a set from a car that raced this past year or recent years he's likely got it. Join his forum and you can check.....just a word of warning he doesn't like people joining just to buy decals...so join and participate in the forums and he'll be a bit more receptive. Or you can look for him on FB if he's still active there. His decals are good but not diecut but they are very thin. http://stoneyscustoms.boards.net/
  22. As of today, Hobby Easy has this kit available so it should be shipping out to other vendors shortly. https://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/jndtqbplryvektamrggp.html Too bad about the tires and decals but it's just the way it is now a days with licencing and fees. There is already a fill in set for the tires on Ebay https://www.ebay.ca/itm/1-12-PORSCHE-934-FILL-IN-DECALS-for-TAMIYA-12055/233377012363?hash=item36565a9a8b:g:HpcAAOSwZp5drv4k I'm sure more will follow as well as some proper aftermarket tires by someone.
  23. I have mine ordered from Chris at Upscale Hobbies in the US. And yes, $150 US (he offers it with free shipping within the US) so knock off probably another $20 cause I cant imagine it'll be a cheap box to ship. I got paint already, just have to look into some 1/12 detail items. Some A/N fittings, not sure what else might be needed. Definitely looking forward to this release, My plan is to build this over the winter, after I finish my 24hr of Daytona build at the end of January and spend the rest of the winter on just this project.
  24. It's not the Trumpeter kit, it's their own tooling. I do wish they had of done the '67 or '68/9 car if they were set on a GT40. Doing another '66 car was kind of pointless. I get the Ford tho, they either renewed or still had a current licencing agreement with Ford, since they did the 2 trucks already. TBH I would have much rather has seen them do the 2020 Shelby GT500 in 1/12 or a newer gen Shelby GT350(R) but I think it's silly they went with the '66 since one, Trumpeter did it already and they're set to reissue it. Opportunities missed I guess.
  25. Definitely the US.....Canada Customs is awful. Especially the closer we get to Christmas. Normally from the UK my orders are 5-10 days. I've got a kit inbound from Hiroboy and it's already been 12 days and not shown up....and one over 20 days from Japan. I'm in no hurry for the Land Rover....I have a Brian James trailer I'm going to build with the Land Rover in the new year so whenever is fine with me.
