  1. Sorry to hijack your thread mate, hope you're making out ok with the GTO. As far as ELO goes, here in Canada I can have my LHS order it, for $18 a can, so I'd need about 4cans or more to make a bath big enough to cover a car, I'll stick with the IPA and SuperClean.
  2. I just checked, all the vendors I was watching are out of stock. The ones for $70 are the ones that Revell released at the Autoshows, you don't want one of those. They don't have mirrors, they aren't the production kits. Just keep searching Ebay or check your LHS. In Canada seems none of the distributors have them yet, looks like just the US atm.
  3. They're great. Theres a couple in the Workbench section already. And someone did a quick kit review in the review section. So no, I wont do another, no need there's just not enough parts to do more than one. Tho, the body is almost perfect, other than the mold lines behind the doors running down the sides, they're abit hard to sand out due to the buttress', the body is very nice. The rest of the kit is simple, but TBH the body is the focus and with some detail painting, very nice worthwhile kit to have.
  4. They're curbside kits, the engine detail is molded into the interior bucket.
  5. Looks great Jim. I was gonna do a Gulf livery too on mine. Got the paint sitting here infront of me. But at the last minute I changed my mind and went a different route. Glad I did, too soon to have multiples in the same paint, we need a large variety to start. Looking to see yours finished. David
  6. nope, I picked that up at my LHS, that pick was the one I posted in the "What did you get today" thread, just recycled it. The Vette is 1/25 the GT is 1/24 the difference is huge. I got some paint on it last night, I'll post up some pics later on. Just woke up, need tea first.
  7. I've been using PB for years, free, but recently I just started paying, only cause the pop ups where getting terrible. For .99$ you can get rid of the popups. Not sure how much Fotki costs, never used it, but I'm sure you're gonna get answers promoting both.
  8. I wouldn't put any guild lines on it, other than build a new Ford GT. Colour, livery, extras, whatever you want. Take as long as you want. Just thought it would an idea to put them all in one place. Do a build thread in the Workbench if you like. But then post some WIP or just Completed picks in the Community Thread so others can see them more easily. So lets say, from now, till the end of the year, you got 9 months Gergo, git'r done!!
  9. New Revell. Got two of Ebay last week, with shipping to US address, 16 bucks,. not bad.
  10. Yeah, shipping to Canada from the US can be excessive. I'm very fortunate, I live close to Niagara Falls and my sister is just over the border in the US so I have items shipped to her place then just go over for a visit and pick them up. Or she'll bring them over when she visits. As far as colour gots, Im not sure now, I was going to do a racing livery, but the decals I had in mind just aren't gonna fit, so this one will likely just be a stock colour with some SMS carbon decals on the chassis. David
  11. Nova is on pause while I wait for the replacement decals to arrive. So I started on one of my TWO GT's I picked up. I already like this kit a lot so I'm pretty sure I'll get getting more than two. Removed the mold lines and scuffed up the paint and laid down some primer. So far, I am supper impressed with this kit. The detail if very nice and looks quite accurate to the real thing. The detailing on the head light buckets is really good, not 100% correct but pretty close. With some detail painting they'll look more than just OK. More later today. David
  12. Two GT's fresh from USPS dropped off at my sister's in the States. Got free dinner with the pick up too. Foose Vette from my semi LHS...need to keep those guys happy too, not many left in my area anymore.
  13. I got my room @‌ The Wayne Inn which is north of the Ramada and closer to Pal Drive. Room is $65 US/night address is 535 Route 23 South Wayne NJ ph# 1-973-696-2000
  14. where do you pick that up at? I've never seen that here in Canada.
  15. don't sand it strip it. use either SuperClean or Isopropyl alcohol (91%) or higher, you can get it in bulk at Target. Just fill a large plastic container and fill it with whichever, both work, and let it soak. might take a couple hours, might take a week. depends on the paint and the age. Some like over cleaner or break fluid, I've never tried either, but the two I listed work. Also they'll strip chrome too. hope this helps some David
  16. Yeah, you could use any GT40 livery, or any livery for that matter. I just put a link in there cause I thought the '66-67 Le Mans ones were great. I've got two GT's coming and I'm doing a race livery on one, that isn't a "GT40" livery. I also think the Alan Mann Racing one looks awesome. Thanks for the interest, I hope more like it too. It would be interesting to see what people can come up with.
  17. Nice JC, looks amazing.
  18. With the release of Revell's new 2017 Ford GT, I think we should have a Community build based on this car. There are a lot of people that like this car and there's been a lot of different liveries. Here's a link with some of the '60's retro liveries on the new GT. http://gallery.wacom.com/gallery/23753107/2017-Ford-GT-66-69-24h-Le-Mans-livery-tribute What do you think?
  19. Body repainted. Thanks to Renegade, who's sending me some new SS stripes, hopefully have them by the end of the week, I can finish the body up. Chassis is basically complete. Just need to add the rear shocks and the traction bars, just waiting for the paint to cure. Added some seatbelts to the front seats, just need to finish detailing up the door panels and dashboard then can install those. More later today, hopefully.
  20. not bad, I like them any plans on any other styles? I'm really looking for a set like http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2010/11/sema-2010-ford-f-350-pit-boss.html
  21. You wont be disappointed. They're perfect. mock up of mine. the chassis is just sitting on the tires but you get the idea for the look with the dually fenders Dan's stuff is great.
  22. really? what do you use to host? photobucket is free, and for like $1 a month you can get rid of the pop ups. Didn't know posting pics was in issue for some. Sorry to bring up harsh memories.
  23. Pics, or it didn't happen. David
  24. I see what he's saying JC. The left rear looks bent in, but its just an optical illusion cause the truck is opened up. Great work. Love your Cobra's. David
  25. Love It. Cool colour, great execution.
