  1. Nice Ben. I just ordered mine, with the detail up parts as well. Just waiting for mine to arrive from Japan. David
  2. Fresh off the plane from Germany. A couple of diorama photo backdrops from Scale Productions. One pit lane and one street background. As well as their new 918 wheel/brake upgrade set. I still have to trim up and glue the photo's to the backing boards. You can see some close ups of this product here http://www.scaleproduction.de/product_info.php?info=p2212_20-21--bbs-wheel-set-p918-spyder--revell-.html if you didn't know about it. Quality is very good, a very tiny bit of clean up will be needed, but no more than a normal injection molded piece. David
  3. Fresh supplies from Gravity Colors. Left to Right, Toyota Hot Lava Orange, Gurney Eagle Blue, GC's Multidose clear, GC's white primer, Porsche Acid Green for the calipers on a couple 918's and some Ford Grabber Blue for a 2013 Shelby GT500, just waiting on Plamoz TK to be released. Gonna be a busy summer once everything else arrives. David
  4. Nice looking truck. I too just got a set of KMC wheels and the Goodyear tires from Fireball as well. And yes, they are things of beauty. Will be watching for updates. David
  5. Looks awesome. Makes me want to get working on mine again. And yes, Danny's dually fenders are top notch. They turn the Meng kit into a whole new truck and you're right, other than the resin colour they look as if they were a stock part of the kit. As for the spare, why not just email Danny and see if you can order a single? Or see if he has a reject that's good on one side since the bad side would be up against the bottom of the bed anyways. Love the colour too. Will be watching. David
  6. Dexter Models and Blue Stuff decals have put out some plaid seat decals. Hiroboy has them listed but out of stock at the moment. http://www.hiroboy.com/124_MercedesBenz_300SL_Gullwing_Coupe_Plaid_Seat_Decals_A--product--9143.html You might be able to find them somewhere else. If you dont care about factory colour match, check automotive supply stores. Just take a copy of the photo with you they'd likely be able to give you a good match. David
  7. Does anyone know if there is a kit or resin kit of this truck? Thanks David
  8. Interesting idea. Mine as follows, being a racing fan, most are race cars. In order too. 1- Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe 2- Ford GT 40 MK1 ('68 LM Winner) 3- New Ford GT ( Race or Street version) 4-1966 Ford Mustang GT 350R 5-1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 (Eleanor) 6-1999 Panoz LMP Roadster 7-1991 Mazda 787b LM winner( love the paint/graphics) 8-Castrol NSX JTCC ( Black/Park Green/Flourecent pink markings) 9-2011 Porsche 911 GTLM's ( Flying Lizard Liveries- Best looking Livery of all time) 10-Ducati 1199 Panigale ( I know, not a car, but I want one so bad) David
  9. Went to Michael's on the weekend and picked up a couple of kits using their 50% off coupons to get another I've got like 3 of these now. Really nice kits. the only issue is the ride height which isnt even really a tough fix on these Mustang kits. And one of these This is going to be used with my Perry's Resin TK for Mark Donahue's '69 Camaro Trans-Am race car. A project for this fall. David
  10. It fits, kind of..... I'm doing a 2017 Raptor for the Aussie Cannonball Run this year and I'm using the 2015 chassis under it. For the most part it fits, but you do have to do some mods to get it to sit right. I'm also using the 2015 interior floor pan and will then modify the 2017 interior panels and dash to fit. Unfortunately, the chassis' really aren't that similar, but hey, its a model so I'm gonna roll with it. David
  11. That's interesting, I had not heard that tip before, I'll have to try it as well. I know that chrome pretty much strips in minutes at room temp, but I have found at times paint to be stubborn when stripping, so I'll try this out. Thanks Steve. David
  12. The stuff will last a good long while, tho it will loose it potency with use. I just bought some new SC and replaced my old patch that was atleast a year old, so pending on how much stripping you have to do it's going to last a long time. Here in Canada I get it at Canadian Tire, they usually have it on sale for about $12 a couple times a year instead of the regular $20. So if you can get it on sale it's an even better deal. I get my IPA from Target or Sam's Club and it too will last a long time and isn't very expensive for the amount of use you can get out of it. David
  13. IPA is Isopropyl alcohol. You can use 90% plus IPA to strip paint, works better than SC most of the time but dont use IPA on resin as it will soften it up where as SC wont. I have 2 large tupperware tubs I use from stripping paint. One of SC and one of IPA. I also use SC to strip chrome plating too. X2 was the guy agreeing with the poster above using SC to strip paint from resin. David
  14. This one, I've used it on LMM resin, Studio 27, HRM, Plamoz and as of yet had no ill effects from SC. Stay away from IPA for sure, I know it softens HRM resin, could others as well. David
  15. Nice truck. TBH I'm very disappointed in Revell, they did a great job on the 2015, tons of detail for a snap kit then less than a year later they drop this half-assed attempt. The body looks great, the dashboard looks good as do the rims, but the rest of the seats are terrible and the chassis is just the Autoshow chassis without the stamp. The 2016 Mustang is the same, hopefully someone at Revell pics up on these issues and fixes them for future releases. Nice work on yours tho, sorry to rant abit, its just that I love the Raptor trucks....maybe next time. David
  16. Just got these today: These have to be the absolute nicest aftermarket item I've ever ordered. I haven't even opened the package yet and they look perfect. No visible flash, no distortions, resin looks smooth and clean and the tires have a nice soft feel to them, even better than kit tires. I'll post some picks up in the review section later on, but Joesph at Fireball Modelworks is an artist. David
  17. Try the lenses covers you can buy at the dollar store to put over cell phone touch screens. They might be thin enough that you can form them over the stock lenses with some warm water. The paint looks great, looking forward to seeing it done....still my all time favourite car. David
  18. Some minilites on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/161955907141?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Another kit, if you can find one, is Perry's Resin '69 Camaro TK. I have one, but haven't seen one for sale for a really long time.
  19. Scale Productions is suppose to be re releasing their TK for the Fall Guy truck. They posted on FB back in Feb. that it was coming soon so keep an eye on their FB page, Mike said it should be out in May sometime. David
  20. Not sure if he sends out shipping numbers with international orders, I know if I get a Scale Finishes shipment sent to my sister's in NY state I get a tracking number, but if I have it shipped to Canada, no tracking info. Also Canada Customs has been terrible this year in processing items quickly. If it has tracking, like the kits I traded with some US members items showed up really quick 5-7 working days, overseas, awful. Couple items from Australia took like 4 weeks, when it use to be like 14days tops. A shipment from Japan 3 weeks when it use to be 10days tops. Item may just be sitting at customs waiting for someone to finish their 4 day coffee break.

    Camo Lambo

Really nice.... I bet that was not a lot of fun to decal. Great job. David
  22. Love it. Paint looks great, details look perfect. Need to get mine finished up, and hope it looks close to this nice. Love to see some shots of the chassis too. David
  23. When I'm doing a long or wide decal I flood the area with the same water I'm using to soften the decals. I have a wide, about 1/2" brush, just a cheapy from the dollar store that I use to wet the entire area. Once the decal is on, I use more water, if necessary to allow the decal to "float" on the model. Once I have the decal placed more or less where I want it I then use either a damp cloth as suggested above or, recently I've switched over to make up wedges that you can also get at the dollar store really cheap. I keep a couple handy, 1 to remove most of the water then I swap them out for drier ones as I press out the remaining water. I'll also use Micro Sol products as needed pending on curves and panel lines to get the decal to sit down where needed. Just rinse and repeat till you're happy.
  24. I just bought the 2010/2013 Mustangs myself, in anticipation of Plamoz's up and coming TK for the 2013 Shelby GT 500. Although the Civic isn't my thing, its a cool kit none the less.
  25. Cool build. I'll be watching. If I might make a suggestion? You'll get an overall better finish if you remove all of the parts from the trees before painting. I would glue together things like engine block halves, exhaust pipes, seat fronts and backs then attach them to some popsicle sticks with some two sided tape or, what I use most often, bbq skewers with some blue tack ( or whatever its called in your area). All of these items are easily available at dollar stores and for about $10 you can buy yourself enough supplies for more than a couple years as you can reuse the sticks over and over. After gluing the parts together sand out the mold/glue lines then prime or paint, you'll be much happier with the result. David
