You're safe. Chris is a really good guy, and looks after his customers. I've purchased from him a couple times now and had no issues. When you order from his site just follow the checkout progression there's a page that has your name and shipping info on it and shipping choices. I live in Canada, and my order took about 10-12 days to get here and clear customs, which is pretty good from Europe, and Canada Customs is notoriously slow at processing items. Right now Chris is still in the US, he stayed for a week after NNL East so he's probably going to be a bit backed up with orders when he gets home. Hope this helps some. David

Looks pretty good. I'll be getting a couple for sure.

Thanks for the link. I'm thinking about that set or going all out and getting the Studio 27 one, which is quite a bit more money, but has a lot more PE and some white metal as well. I'm waiting to here back from Josh from Tamiya Canada to see if I can buy a set of replacement re-issue decals, and with the original set I'll have the Michelin decals to do the original release. But he was out of the office today and I'll have to wait till Monday to see if that's an option.

1200???? Did you take pictures of every car, person dog and building in a 2 mile radius? Thanks for posting, I unfortunately had to cancel my trip down there this year. Appreciate the time and effort to post these up. David

Got this off Ebay for about $30 CDN, with shipping included. Became an even better deal, when after about a month it hadn't arrived in the mail I emailed the vendor telling him it hadn't shown up and he apologized that the item didn't get shipped. So he sent it the next day, with tracking and a full refund.....so got it for free. Original release from 2000 opened and unstarted, but the Martini decals are missing and one of the side stripes is partially missing. I knew that when buying, but I thought I'd have an easier time finding replacement decals or after market ones than I have been. I've got a post in the Want section if anyone has some lying about. Plan on doing a full detail build on this later this year, so i'll spend the next couple months rounding up some aftermarket detail sets. This is going to be my fall build. Pic is off the web of one of the new releases, haven't bothered to take any pics yet, blew up my good computer yesterday, so working off the tv one atm.

No, Patto's Place, http://members.optusnet.com.au/pattosplace/home.html , does decals for slot cars, they've got the C7R decals, the ones I bought are for the 2014 Tudor United Sports Car Series. Scale Auto did 1/24 slot bodies for the SRT Viper and were suppose to do one for the new Porsche 991 GT car, but that's been dragging on for like 2 years now. They keep it in their catalogue but still haven't seen one yet.

IPA is isopropyl alcohol. You can use it to strip paint, as well as alot of other chemicals. If you use it, you want 90% plus stuff, lower % will likely work too, just not as effectively. Easily found in the States at Target (where I get mine), probably Walmart and Sam's Club too, Check the Tips section, theres more than a couple threads on this already, and if you're new, lots of good stuff there to read, wish the internet and forums like this existed when I started out. They've got it already. I've got a set downstairs in my hobby room. I got the ones for the 2014 Tudor Series, plan was to do the Corvette, Viper, Porsche and BMW Z4. With the release of the C7R upcoming only one I dont have to build is the Porsche 991. I've been waiting for Scale Auto to release theirs, like the Viper, but it seems to keep getting pushed back. Hopefully later this year for that. I'm sure Patto's will update the decal set for the 2016 season pretty quick once the C7R is release, if it isnt already. David

Awesome work Jay. Very envious. I want one now, tell Ed you need a couple more, just to get it right. My mailing address is... David

This thing is gorgeous. I love it. Did you do a wip thread? If so link it up. David

Been using the same thing for years myself, works perfect. David

Jay helped develop the kit for Revell with Dave Thibodeau, whose is the kit making the show rounds. Revell sent them advance kits. Dave's is the one that will be on the box art for the retail release.

Not sure what Matt used, but I used 91% IPA, worked great, after a couple of hours I just scrubbed the finish off with a toothbrush. I tried Super Clean on my 2013 Camaro that had a factory finish and it was pretty much useless, go with IPA. David

Looks good Matt. I've got the Foose one almost done, hope it looks as good as this. Only issue I see is the ride height, now I know to lower mine, I think its sits way too high, but your paint looks awesome. Love the blue accents on the fenders. David

Cannonball Run 2016 "The Aussieball" Official Build Thread
Jhedir6 replied to TFchronos's topic in Community Builds
Jesse, Loving the Bronco, probably one of my fav Ford trucks of all time, Definitely swap out the sets for some racing seats with some 4-6 point harness', not sure I'd want to be bouncing around the Outback with a lap belt to hold me down. Also, leave off the cap, love seeing the roll cage and tire exposed from the back. Looking forward to more. David -
It's not just the Mustang, the 2017 Raptor was the same, lots of great detail on the body/interior and then a flat piece of plastic for the chassis and clear plastic painted silver for the headlight buckets....kind of a shame tbh. Frank, I'll be in for a few sets of lights so please give a heads up when they're available again please. Thanks David

I like it. Which Bronco kit is that? Been wanting one for a long time. And yes, the wheels from the Rubicons look great, I'm using the same ones on my Raptor. Looking forward to more. David -
Paint Stripper: Insights on Lacquer Removal
Jhedir6 replied to Lunajammer's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I myself like super clean and ipa for stripping. BUT don't use ipa on resin, softens it up too much. Super Clean on resin, no issues so far and I've used it on HRM resin, Studio 27, LMM, MFH and various others and never had an issue with softening the resin or even drying it out. David -
I agree, looks like the C6R chassis just updated abit, but as you said, who cares, the body is whats really important. Of course, this comes out just as I started working on my C7R from a RC body...oh well I'll have to put it up to one of these to see how well I did. Thanks for the pic Gerry. David

Stripping paint from plated parts
Jhedir6 replied to MrBuick's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Testors enamel, its in his original post. TBH I highly doubt you'll be able to remove the enamel without damaging or removing the chrome plating. As stated above, you could ask in the Wanted section for another set, post a pic or kit manufacturer and number and part number too, as a lot of kits have more than 1 set of wheels in them. Or, you can just strip the wheels down to bare plastic, paint them black then paint them with Alcad or similar chrome paint. Post a pic of the wheels, but I've had zero luck in removing paint from a chromed wheel and not wrecking the chrome after the paint has cured up. You can do it if the paints relatively fresh but once its fully cured..... -
Odd Revell GT auction, $70?
Jhedir6 replied to aurfalien's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here's a listing for one of the NAIAS Ford GT's. Second pic shows the stamp for the Auto Show kits. The listing in the original post doesn't have the stamp as far as I can see so the seller has definitely grabbed a retail box and opened it up and is trying to pass it off as one from the Auto Show circuit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-GT-1-25th-scale-2016-NORTH-AMERICAN-INTERNATIONAL-AUTO-SHOW-Detroit-Auto-S-/162018315740?hash=item25b90b4ddc:g:HqoAAOSwX~dWnVq6 -
Odd Revell GT auction, $70?
Jhedir6 replied to aurfalien's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My bet, this one is a scam. Seller likely had one of the ones from the Auto Show that was stamped on the bottom of the chassis. I don't see any stamp on the pics listed in the auction and the bags look just like the retail kit ones I have. I'd post a comparison pic but I've already opened mine up. I saw one of the Auto Show ones on Ebay a couple of weeks ago go for around $70 US so my guess is this seller is trying to rip someone off. David -
If this is your pic, do you have any better shots of the C7R? I'd like to get a look at the ride height. Thanks David

MPC 1971 Ford Mustang 351
Jhedir6 replied to Nova-ss's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've had luck in the past with Super Clean weakening old glue joints. Can you post a pic of what the body looks like. with the glue on it? As long as its not a "glue bomb" but a relatively minimal amount SC might weaken the glue enough to break it apart to do a proper repair. David -
Colour down. Love this colour blue. Ford Blue Flame from Scale Finishes. I have to find a blue oval decal for the front, then I can shoot some clear on it. I might even add another coat yet. Thanks for looking guys.
