Yes this is the first version from the early 60s.
-
I got it to use for parts but could not do it and brought it back,I could have used the newer versions for part but not a 60s.

I picked this one up to use for parts on the 4 cylinder version but since I got all new parts this one will be reassembled but since it fell apart it will be a convertible with the new convertible parts I have.
-
Over the last couple years I have been gathering the parts to build a Monogram 34 Ford as the 4 cylinder version that was never made in kit form,I picked up around three partial kits and now can build it. Before I got a computer I never thought I could find kits or parts unless I got lucky and found someone throwing out that stuff,I love being able to build 60s and 70s versions but have been able to do it without paying the high prices. I never would have thought this old stuff was still out there.

I was given this kit due to the way it is,not sure if I will ever build it and might have to be really bored to start on it.
-
I presume these are the earliest versions of that kit,99 percent of that parts lot were early 70s and older, not much I could do with the black one since it was heavily glued togather and would have broken to get it apart and most of it thrown away. Did not have the heart to repaint the green one since it most likely was painted in the 60s and the body was not too damaged like most that came with the parts.
-
The dust was intentionally left on the black one,it's a barn find and might eventually get cleaned.
-
The engine will be the 390 from the 34 pickup kit.

Since I am on a roll with 40s it's time to build my version of this box art,I have been wanting to do this for a couple years and it's now going to happen. My version is going to have a hoped up OHV engine and big and littles but still have the original hubcaps.
-
These two were in pieces in a big lot of parts I picked up earlier this year,I got bored this past weekend I decided to put them together and and not do too much to them.

Hopefully my last AMT 40 for awhile will be a sedan built like the one on the early 60s box,I found some paint that should match and I hope no more 40 kits come my way. It's time to build anything different. -

I am going to try to not build any more 40s after this batch I have but who knows what will.happen years down the road. Now if someone would make a 40 woody kit then I would definitely need to get a couple. -

I am going to leave the dust on it for that barn find look.
-
Found a rear end and had to sacrifice a chassis to get it out, also found everything else I needed so this one is going to be a quick reassembly.

I have two 40s going together and this is number 2,since this one has some damage on both rear fenders it's going to be a beater. This one is really glued together so it can not come apart to repair it correctly, just going to do some detailing and reassembly. Now to see if I can find a rear end and headlights.
-
I do have some bodies that are not worth rebuilding so I might have to build some dirt track cars.

I have a feeling most of us are in this situation and it's probably not a bad thing,on my post of the latest 40 I am building someone shown a picture of his version of a race car and I do have some that are not worth rebuilding that would make excellent dirt track cars so it's never going to end.
