I think I still have some small parts that I had for over 40 years but that engine I used a couple years ago was the last of the larger parts I had for over 40 years I had since they were new. I have plenty of old parts mainly from the Monogram 34 and 40 pickups kits but someone else had held on to them for many years and I just recently got them.

I was hoping to paint this one but it was glued together too good so I left it black,I put another frame under it since most bumper brackets were broken off. This one got a 289 under the hood.

I just received two beer keg gas tanks the sender had for over 50 years,a couple years ago I finally used the optional Olds engine from the 40 Ford sedan in a 40 standard coupe I built with sedan parts. I built the kit it came from in 73 or 74. I had put that Olds engine in a few models that I pieced together with junk parts that ended up being used for parts but the engine I kept,it had so many coats of paint and almost got put in the trash since I had another that was not painted but since I had it so long it had to be used.

AMT flathead speed parts
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I decided to use parts I have in stock for this build and going to use a 289 for a 60s vibe, will remember that Revell flathead when I need one on the next build. Did not want to buy another kit for a quicky build. -
I do not have enough parts to build another so unless I get more parts this one is the last.
-
It's just going to be a quick rebuild,I really wanted to paint it but do not want to break it taking it apart. This is the fourth 40 I have done like this over the last few months.

While looking for parts for the AMT 36 Ford I found another 40 coupe,I told myself I was done with them for awhile but it will go together while waiting on paint and glue to dry. If I could get it apart I was going to paint it but the body is glued to the fenders too good so it's going to get a new chassis and some detailing and call it done, was going to put a flathead in it but it's going to get a 289 Ford this time since I have never tried to put one in before. It will chrome rims.

I know some came with the 50 convertible but were speed parts ever made for the 40 flathead,I am thinking a hoped up flatty should go in my latest 40 coupe since all the others have gotten a OHV.

While looking for the parts I found some smooth hood sides that will be going on,I also found I was missing the part behind the grille between the hood sides thinking it would stop the progress but eventually found one so soon it will be built between other projects.

I have a AMC engine I can donate to the project.
-
Found enough parts to put this back together, not sure on the engine right now but hope to get to it before it gets warm as I have a few in front of this one.

I think it's a annual and not a promo.
