  1. I wish they would have made the base models, instead of a Galaxie 500 they could have made the Custom and a Biscayne instead of the Impalas. And they all seemed to have big blocks where I would have like to build one with a small block or even a six just to be different,I know some of the base models are available in resin but sometimes those are more then I can spend and then have to get a kit for the donor parts.
  2. On this MPC the seats are molded in the tub so it would not be easy to change.
  3. I found a big block from a 1970 to 72 Chevelle that I will be using.
  4. After second thought since it has that deluxe interior I am going to make it a big block 4 speed if I can find a stock big block.
  5. Thanks to a member on here for a hood and tailgate I can start on the restore,I ordered some 8 lug rims and tires from Scenes unlimited so its going to be a 3/4 ton. Going to use the six from the 62 Chevy II after some modifications and hope to get a truck 4 speed, was hoping to put a bench seat in it but the seats are molded into the interior tub since I would like it to be a cheap truck. Chassis is very basic so might have to come up with another to make it a 3/4 ton.
  6. The early 70s MPC Chevy truck I have has a fancy interior with buckets and console, since I want to rebuild it as a basic truck was there ever one made with a bench seat. I looked at my GMC shortbed and it also has buckets but no console.
  7. I might try to find a parts Blazer but I am planning on using the six from the 62 Chevy II so it will look like it has a 250,this is going to be a cheap truck and will look into that Olson brothers trans.
  8. I am going to take the 71ish MPC Chevy step side long bed and make it a 3/4 ton but I want a truck 4 speed for it so was there ever a kit that had one or are there any made in resin.
  9. All new brakes and has about 80 miles on it so far,the o/d is not working and most likely electrical since it will go in free wheeling with the cable pushed in but no o/d.
  10. I have the chassis and interior from that 59 kit and just need to get the glass.
  11. It will most likely be when it gets colder before I start on it,I still need to get windows for it.
  12. Parts arrived today so the build will start soon.
  13. Did not know MPC made one and thought it was a AMT.
  14. I will start posting on a build thread when the parts arrive, not sure what I will do about a engine since it does not have a opening hood. Thinking about using a six since the top will not be seen and will not need the correct valve cover and air cleaner and I have a few of them.
  15. Found a new chassis and interior on ebay and its on the way.
  16. I have a small local hobby shop that deals with rebuilders and will see if I can find one of those before buying a new kit,he also sells parts too so I will check with him next saturday. If he has none then I will get a new kit.
  17. Is the 59 kit readily available.
  18. That batch of parts had a body and wondering if the parts from the 2 door sedan could be used to build it.
  19. That is what I got but mine is missing the carbs.
  20. As for the 57 Olds I found a 1/24 diecast 57 race car I forgot I had and might think about making it look stock or a hot rod if I could ever find the time.
  21. This must be a 62 engine as the manifolds are made with the block and yes the hole is on the large side.
