Stock 34 Ford kits
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If I want to build this soon I will probably be finding a AMT 5 window coupe and a 1/25 Model A,now I wish I would have not gotten rid of the 4 banger speed parts from a Revell kit and could of built a hotrod 4 banger. -

I do have a built Monogram A that I can rob the motor from but I might keep that one stock, now if I can find a 1/24 Y block then the A will be rebuilt as a hotrod. -

I am going to hunt down the parts from the 60s kit since I have some of those and the 90s version but not everything I need,if I can come up with another 90s kit for the chassis I do have a 60s kit built stock that I can rob the chassis from if I can get it apart without breaking since it was heavily glued.. -
I am going to be weird and build a 4 cylinder version and was wondering if a stock 34 kit is being made today,I have some of the parts from the 60s Monogram kit and the 90s kit to possibly build one if I can find the parts I am missing. I did some research and the 33/34 4 cylinder motor looks alot like a model A motor so I want to try it.

Testors brush paint

I have also notice the bottles need to be stirred up before every use where years ago it did not need to be,looks like government got to them or they are trying to make them cheaper. -
Supposively there were less then 1000 made so I am building one with the sedan fenders and will try to get the 39 grille to look similar to the 40 standard version,I am using the chassis from the sedan I built back in the mid 70s and a Olds motor from a sedan kit. Was not going to build another 40 so soon after the others but I found the parts I needed and will build it while waiting on paint and glue to dry on other projects.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the paint seems to be thinner and needs more then one coat to look good,I do not remember it being like this years ago but I know nothing stays the same.

I am glad to see there are more being built, here is a picture of all that I have. One stock coupe and another coupe with the custom grille on the 90s chopped top street rod chassis with the Pontiac motor, the stock chassis from it went under the 90s body with the 60s convertible parts. There is another 90s version with the 60s convertible parts and a ZZ Top coupe.

Looks great and now I know what that sleeper cab I seen in a junkyard is. -
Looking good,I built a AMT version back in the early 70s and would like to build another but I would get carried away and put a V8 in it now.

Its in color,I really like that maroon and need to see if there is a blue that matches Washington blue for another projects

I did not want to paint the body but I will have to so the fenders will match, its going to be painted Tamiya TS 11 which should be close with a black interior.
-
Convertible will be first and then the coupe.
-
I think the motor came from the AMT kit.
-
Being from Dayton Ohio I remember that car well.
-
Its done now but look what I found in my parts stash, the trailer from the convertible kit that will also get weathered.
-
Picked up this 37 already weathered so I finished it that way, used the Y block from the AMT 57 Ford.
-
Picked up a partial 60s Monogram 34 Ford and then got the 90s chopped top coupe for the chassis and other parts but since I have two frames going to make the coupe body fenderless after I get the parts to finish the other chassis.

There are a 41 Chevy p/u,37 Ford,56 Ford gasser,70 F100 and 51 Chevy projects being built. I need to have plenty to do while waiting on paint and glue to dry.

Only about a year and a half in the making, paint messed up two times and almost got thrown in the trash and was only soaking for about a year but its done. I used 40 bumpers and the Pontiac motor
