  1. If you use their airbrush thinner they dry much faster and harder. I often times mix in a drop or two of that thinner in a little paint in a cap when I brush paint with it, too.
  2. Very cool.
  3. Looked presentable before, but it's super nice now. I wish I still had mine. I'd imagine the tool (minus the 66 Mustang stuff) is probably still around...
  4. It was part of the same tool. The real estate used for the XR6 was cleared out to make room for the conversion parts to make My Mother the Car.
  5. A pair of 25 T roadster bodies grafted together would get you in the neighborhood. Like this old survivor...
  6. The tools for those two still exist. They've just been heavily modified to make other things. If the inserts aren't scattered too far to the winds and the projected sales figures deemed it feasible, that set is at least somewhat possible.
  7. I understand Model Cars Diecast editor Wayne Moyer passed away recently. Any details or obit?
  8. It was all in good fun (although I totally accept free model kits!) I bought most of my Monogram 32s from Hobby Lobby at a discount back when they were still cheap. And bought a few used... Probably paid around 5 bucks each or so... My wife calls our basement "the hobby shop"...
  9. Oh. My. Gawd.... What are you smoking Bob?
  10. Will have to re-acquire the kits first. I still have a box art replica to finish too...
  11. That's OK. I miss-spelled Graffiti. Lol.
  12. Thanks for reposting that beauty Pat. I missed it the first time around, and then the greedy Photobucket curse... Beautiful accurate and plausible. It's exactly what I was going to do a bunch of years ago.
  13. Two totally different American Graffit kits. The diecast kit is by Revell. The plastic kit is based on the MPC Switchers series Deuce. That one is not very good. As far as what this thread is about, it meanders in the wind.
  14. How can you have an opinion about a kit you know nothing about? To answer your question, the cover model is channeled. You can get it even lower yet by substituting a dropped axle on the front. The one in the photo is from the Monogram 32 Roadster. I should also mention I lengthened the front frame horns to make them more accurate... Yes 1932 was Ford's first V8. Chevy had one for about 5 minutes back in 1917. The 32 Ford 5 Window comes with your choice of the flathead V8 or a 283 Chevy with 6 Strombergs. The DTR KIT you are referencing is no different, other than decals than any release of this kit subsequent to the Street Rods issue of the 1970s. No cycle fenders (although the brackets are present) no Moon discs and no hot rod hood. It was produced either by Racing Champions (RC2) or Round2. My guess is they changed the box art because consumers complained that those aforementioned pieces were shown on the box but weren't included.
  15. So let me get this straight. The kit doesn't interest you. You don't own one. You know nothing about it, and yet you are posting some sort of rambling stream of conciousness about it. Do you know what white noise is?
  16. Awesome. Going to look now.
  17. I think the stretch is actually behind the foot well for the back seat, but you got the job done.
  18. You're very welcome. Do you have anymore pics? Under Glass?
  19. Now that I like!
  20. Oh man... You've been reading my old bucket list! Nice job!
  21. Well then, mystery solved. So who knows what was retooled. (Or how I ended up with a Lindberg [or Palmer] hood for that matter....)
  22. I'm curious about that myself. Unfortunately I don't have the rest of that kit. Anybody here who does?
  23. What a beautiful and moving tribute to your grandson who was called home early.
  24. I'm guessing a hood. This issue of the kit apparently had a 1940 hood that was unique to this version, with scribe lines for the scoop opening and indentations on either side. It's not the same casting as the original hood, which was returned to subsequent issues.
  25. For the engine I'm going to go with AMT 53 Ford Pickup. I caught the body thing right away but I wasn't going to say anything.
