  1. Sorry this thread is so choppy. I'm doing it from my cell phone. And some of you who frequent Spotlight Hobbies and Facebook have seen this further along. Anyway, the body I had on the frame for mock up had some issues I didn't want to deal with, and while I have a few mint original issue bodies, I didn't want to shave the hinges and door handles from them. So this cracked and chipped body was perfect. I fixed the crack with liquid cement, and filled the hole with superglue and Zip Kicker. Bonus photo of chassis and engine included.
  2. Dang that's purty! Love it!
  3. Another item that required adjustment is the grille shell. This became especially apparent with the dropped axle I sourced from a Monogram 32 Roadster. Best. Early. Hot Rod. Axle. Ever. So section it I did...
  4. Now one thing I've learned from early AMT box art is box art isn't always the same as box stock. The 32 Ford Coupe is a prime example. In this case, the AMT front frame horns are too short, and lack a spreader bar. So with pieces from two junk chassis...
  5. I've had the parts for this build floating around for close to 20 years, and early this year, finally started on it. I've long admired the work of early AMT box artist Al Borst, and this bronze 32 5 window is one of my faves. Here is my initial mockup

  7. Times two. Lovely build. I need to replace the one I sold.
  8. That color is perfect for that car. What is it? I concur with the others on the wheels. Nice set of Torque Thrusts would be money on that car. But it's your build and it looks great!
  9. If any of you guys have Facebook, you should cruise over to Scale Survivors. Here are a few I built in the 70s from age 12 to 16. All of these are unrestored except for the Steaker Vette. It was repainted because I stripped it 30 years ago. But I used the same paint as original, and detailed to the same level.
  10. I've never seen one at Hobby Lobby. If I did I'd pick one up.
  11. Actually it's the other way around. According to Mark B: The chassis/engine and half of the plated tree from the Iron Horse were later united with the '66 Mustang coupe promotional model tool (issued once in kit form, in 1969) to create the oft-reissued '66 Mustang coupe kit that we know today. Remember, the '66 annual was not a coupe but a convertible with separate hardtop roof.
  12. I had one of those. I ended up selling it on eBay to none other than John Greczula of Round2.
  13. That's what I would like to know also. The ad mentions retooled body and scoop. Is there anything different about the body?
  14. Not a whole new body. Just a hood, grille/front bumper unit, insert for the tail panel and the taillight lenses with bezel. Not that much. (In the grand scheme of things. Okey's budget not withstanding).
  15. The boat might be doable as it may have been its own separate tool. The inserts for the 6 cyl on the other hand are probably long gone.
  16. I don't think the Mr Gasket kit has been reissued any time recently. The closest thing to what you are talking about here is the Ohio George 67 Mustang gasser, which was never molded in clear. The body in the Mr Gasket kit was returned to stock and reused for the 69 Mustang kit. You can get the Transport Truck, but the Ramchargers dragster isn't included in the most recent release.
  17. That would have had zero affect on the windows. Both Duster and Demon are identical in real life except for the front clip and the taillights. As for the original Demon tool, it went through several iterations including a few Duster annuals, a Sox & Martin pro stock, and lastly the Dart Sport. Now there is a body that could be combined with the 71 Duster stuff to make an accurate Duster. Just a little swap of front clip and taillight panel and plop it on the new tool Duster chassis.
  18. That is gorgeous. Makes me want to pick one up myself. Beautiful job.
  19. Not a Lindberg and also not a clear body. (Molded in Petty Blue opaque plastic.) I realize you get tired of people correcting you, but if you constantly post incorrect notions as fact it will keep on happening. A few minutes of research would prevent that.
  20. Another gorgeous build, Tulio. Regarding the lindberg kits, the 40 Ford is an ex Palmer kit. The 53 was tooled during the renaissance era when the late George Toteff (ex AMT/MPC) took over operations. There are several nice kits from that era.
  21. One of the best looking Revell 5 window builds I've ever seen. You never disappoint, Dennis.
  22. X 2. Your builds never disappoint. Another home run from a guy who gets it!
  23. Both look great. I'd had been tempted just build a second one. I agree with the previous statements about this kit. It's one of the best if not the best 32 roadster kits available. Very under rated.
  24. That is pretty cool. Did you find any more photos of it?
  25. My guess is Mark knew you would do this kit justice. Beautiful job! I too love the color.
