  1. I would assume so. But the feed to the chopped top glass is probably welded off. I don't have the new Pepper Shaker reissue to see which glass it has, but if it has engraving on the headlights it's probably the original. Likely as not though it has the same setup the Ertl reissues have.
  2. That's correct. And as I said earlier, shy of the Halibrand wheels and custom wheel covers, all of the old custom parts should still be in the tool, only needing the gates re opened. An insider I spoke with about 5 years ago told me he had located the original glass tool for it during a full inventory. The one in the more recent issues is a retool.
  3. The 53 Pickup only lacked the hubcaps. You may be thinking of the 36 Ford. That said, most of the custom bits should be still in the 57 kit, just an opening of the gates away.
  4. You hit that one out of the park Tim. John Mueller got the body right, but I'm not sure they ever reworked the fenders. I recall there were some issues with the length of the hood, but building it fenderless like you have it alleviates that problem. Looks great!
  5. I must have somehow missed that issue. Sure is a sharp build and I love, love, love that color.
  6. I like it. Not sure I'd drop the rear though. I think the stance is spot on where you have it.
  7. True. But again it's a hollow piece of plastic. The Bad Man issue could presume to have an engine swap. So there's nothing to say it's the 283.
  8. I like the idea. Keep us posted.
  9. Super nice build of a great subject.
  10. Yes. But with the right block a small block can be bored and stroked up to at least 400 CID. I never said it looked like a big block. I only said it didnt have to be a 283. Or 265 for that matter.
  11. The engine in the kit is a piece of hollow plastic with no cylinder bores - therefore no limitations. Who's to say it's a 283 when outwardly they look identical? So that argument is out the window. Hope they reissue it again soon...
  12. That Weiand Drag Star 6 carb manifold setup (minus plating on the manifold) was in the original issue 55. The unit from the Woody will directly interchange with the Bad Man 55.
  13. I'm going for a mid 60s vibe. Will use the blown small block and headers from the MPC 60 Corvette. Vintage MPC drag slicks and front tires on Halibrand mags. The survivor on the bottom is both the inspiration and close to the color I have in mind. Stay tuned...
  14. I'd love to see one of those painted and foiled.
  15. The side trim on the new tool 57 is light years more accurate than the old tool.
  16. Ah yes, I remember those well. Thanks for the trip in the Wayback Machine Tim!
  17. Rubbing alcohol will cut that too. Hope you'll share that on the Scale Survivors Facebook page - it's way cool!
  18. And those are the same parts that are in the current Pepper Shaker issue, plus extra green tinted glass and pad printed tires. It's a shame they didn't open the gates, as most of the old Styline parts are still in the tool.
  19. What makes that a 55? The label on the box? Unless it's a super rare 6 cylinder that's no 55. It lacks the big V on the Corvette script on the front fender.
  20. I'd love to see Revell/Monogram restore the Monogram 34. It's by far the best out there.
  21. The Blue Bandito intake setup is for a Cadillac engine and the carb spacing is different. But the good news is that every issue and reissue of the old Monogram Woody Wagon has the correct Weiand Drag Star intake and 6 Strombergs for the Little T.
  22. I'm sure it'll be another home run. Couple of tips when it comes to that Y block. The T bird valve covers in that kit aren't the best. The 57 Fairlane and T bird kits have better sets. That and don't forget that Y Block distributors aren't mounted straight up and down. Y blocks have an external oil pump on the driver side rear of the block. The distributor has a driveshaft to run it.
  23. 502, those are most awesome. I missed Saturday, but here's something in a somewhat similar vein...
  24. Looking good Tulio!
