  1. Holy cow that's nice. I love it!
  2. That is way cool. I love it!
  3. Gorgeous. I've always been a sucker for a Karmann Ghia. Hard to believe those same guys (Ghia) built the Lincoln Futura body. Anyway, super nice work!
  4. Super nice great execution too. While I'm not usually a fan of the big wheels either they do work here. The only thing I would change is that on all Fairlane hardtops the entire A pillar is covered with a stainless steel trim plate with no body color in the center. That's an Ertl screw-up.
  5. Heres a clone of Monogram's original issue of their trusty 30 Model A Woody. It's kind of a companion piece to the Blue Beetle so it seemed only fitting to borrow the rolling stock and front axle from the recent Blue Bandito kit to combine with the 2007 Revell reissue. Testors Flame Red lacquer is very close to the original crimson plastic, while Tamiya Light Tan matches the original wood sides perfectly. I wish I would have known sooner or I would have used the 3 bar knock offs from the Predicta which are a perfect match. I made the license plates in Photoshop to match the box art.
  6. I actually just let that 66 go on ebay a few weeks ago. (Didn't want to. Just needed the money.) It is a great survivor and that's how I was preserving it. Here's another cool survivor I have. This is the MPC 64 with its unique one issue only blower scoop. Rear wheels and slicks appear to be Revell. If you like old builds check out Scale Survivors on Facebook.
  7. Palmer 64 MPC 66 annual and AMT 64 annual survivors. Also have a pretty cool MPC 64 I'm trying to find my photo of...
  8. That's purty. Which Revell kit? Tweedy Pie or Rat Rod?
  9. Actually the first 75 Cobras all had 260s. And there is little if any diffence outwardly between a 260 and an early 289. Later 289s had the oil filler moved from the timing cover to the rocker cover, and in 65 went from a 5 bolt to a 6 bolt bellhousing. The 66 Mustang kit is where the oil filler issue is a bigger problem.
  10. Gorgeous! Chip would love it I'm sure.
  11. Nice looking build. I'd put the MPC kit abpve the AMT kits however. The only real issues being that MPC wiped the Corvette scripts and factory exhaust when the Streaker Vette was issued. Oh, and the lack of a big block. They also subbed in the 1964 interior and non sprung suspension. The improvement they did make over the annual kit is the correction of the fender louvers which were incorrectly vertical (not sloped). This is a Streaker Vette issue I built as a teen during the 70s.
  12. Another home run hit out of the park. I did a very similar one for the AMT catalogue about 25 years ago. Yours is nicer.
  13. Are you sure you aren't talking about the Monogram 55 Ford? Because the AMT 53 has always looked pretty good to me. And I've built a few of them, including the blue 1994 box art model. On the other hand, the Monogram kit has all of those issues you mentioned. Especially in the roof area above the drip rails.
  14. That's basically what Randy Meyer did here.
  15. Because you might want a stock 56. The Revell stock 56 is proportionally challanged. A friend of mine just put an AMT front clip on the Foose cab and it fits very well.
  16. Looks like the hood is pie cut sectioned, but what about the cab? Mayyybe a guy could sneak an AMT hood on here and make it closer to stock. AMT chassis and Revell y block to bring it even closer...
  17. Here's a few more Hilborn injected Y blocks.
  18. That's the Katch the Kat issue. Only something like one in each master carton is molded in the metallic colot. Kinda surprized you want to paint it. I've seen them go for upwards of 50 bucks.
  19. If you have any experience with Y block Fords you will know that neither the injector manifold nor the headers are anything near correct. The intake ports on Y block are stacked one atop the other as in the photo. The evenly spaced headers in the kit would be ok for a 390-428, but Y blocks have an exhaust port layout more like a smallblock Chevy, which have the center ports side by side.
  20. That's a really nice build. Here's one I did for my wife a few years ago that's a little more old school...
  21. Just about a Just about any issue of the 49 Ford since the mid 70s will have those parts. Guessing the new one will too.
  22. I'd like to see the recording console back.
  23. Stock engine is a 352. Custom engine is whatever size you want.
  24. You beat me to it! That is the right spot for the Desoto bumper, so my hope is that it is. I have a few of the Styline extensions and some old builders around so those parts will come in handy.
  25. Well looking at the parts layout graphic, neither the Flashback nor the 90s update were sympathetic to the tool. You can see where the Flashback's fuel injection manifold partially obliterated the checkered flag trophy. The tree with the suspension is partly stuff that was chrome prior to the 90s update. (And some of of it really still should be, like the smaller quad headlights and gauge pack.) On the other hand, not only do I spy the quad headlight pods (and the headlight bezels that go with them) if you look above the stock front bumper, It sure looks like the Desoto bumper is back. Thats worth the price of admission right there. Also looks like some of the scoops are back too. And at least one of the globe shaped display lights.
