It must really suxx to live in CA. everything we do in the south is illegal there I think..

I was watching Bettis from the weather channel reporting from the Charlesto, SC Battery. Funny since I was about 20 miles away and we had blue skies. so far for us the regular afternoon thunderstorms have been worse.

When I grew up the rule was "You have to try everything, some you will like and some maybe not". Found some good food items, just don't tell me what's in them or how they are made. Haggis surprised me, the way it was prepared and flavored made it delicious.

Not necessarily fast food but English Haggis is not as bad as we are led to believe. In fact the last I had was quit tasty.

Didn't know the first Mustang was built in 1947.

Model Cars Magazine Renewals
GT4494 replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Gregg, Just to let you know I totally enjoy the magazine and have never been concerned when it was arriving. I understand the complexities of getting a GOOD magazine together. Even more so with a specialty magazine like this. Maybe I don't worry much because I am from the south and we really don't care about due dates and deadlines. We know it always gets done in its own time. Keep up the good work. -
Fans weep over rediscovered Bullitt Mustang

Anyone notice in the movie that the Charger MISSED the gas station? If you watch close you can see it come out the backside of the station as the gas station explodes. As Get Smart would say"I missed it by this much".. -
We have the toast with egg in it almost every weekend. Wife makes them and I love them.

Aerospace (Defense). If I tell you more I'd have to shoot you.

The shots can work and I would use that as the first option. Pain meds make some people have insomnia. You may need Ambien or an equivalent to help get some sleep. And eat lots of fiber, all Pain meds will stop you up. Trust me, been there done that.

But it's a whole lot less expensive!

Rising price of our hobby

That's why we have alligators. Hard to find any evidence. -
Heck, I would at least hit a Tim Hortons
-
Harry, he MRI is an interesting experience I will agree. Depending on what your Dr finds cortisone shots in the disc area may be one option. Just want to say the shot wasn't as bad as it sounds and they did seem to work for me in the short term. each person is different. They put you out while they do it and I never had any discomfort. Sciatica is no fun. Good luck.

That's what happens when you grow up as a "City slicker".
-
Heck, we just go to the crick put a piece of chicken on a string and catch crawdaddies all day long... Them's is good eating.
-
Whats a subway? We dig a hole in the ground and it instantly becomes a pond.
-
Who has sewer grates??? Must be a "City" thing.

Very nice. Too bad no one makes the T5 PE parts. It would be sweet to have an European Mustang
-
Its hard describe but Mushy peas are what we would probably call split peas. They make them into a spreadable paste and put it on fish. Gravy is close to good old brown gravy that we would have on mashed potatoes and if you dip the fries in it, that's what it tastes like. The curry is a curry sauce that does not have the spicy bite of Indian style curry but more of just the curry flavor. With the malt vinegar you do not want or need tarter sauce. This is about as close as I can get to a decent description. It may not sound good to some but until you try it you can't understand how the flavors work together. Its amazing.

I've never had curry like this and its great. It is not the straight sauce like we would think it is almost what we would call in the south a "Chutney". So it might be what you are talking about. Its not Spicy hot just flavorful. Normally get the peas and curry on the side and switch back and forth with each bite. All the stuff he has he imports from your side of the pond. Including the Sarson's malt vinegar and fresh North sea Cod delivered daily. He stays open till 7:00pm or he runs out of fish for the day. The gravy is great to dip the chips in. Not on the fish. It taste the same as our favorite chippy in Dunoon, Scotland. Heading to the Codfather for dinner tonight.

And we finally have a REAL Chippy in Chas. SC. Guy is from Manchester and the food is just like sitting in the UK. albeit 99 degrees outside with no rain. He has Mushy peas, gravy and curry. nothing else but fish and chips. https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-codfather-north-charleston

Rising price of our hobby

It was 360 yen - $1 when I was there. Mowed yards for a bunch of Officers and lived like a King (ok a prince). We lived off base and I would go to the 10 yen (candy) store right next to the school bus stop. I'd buy candy and sell it to the kids whose parents were afraid to let them off base. Got in trouble for that when the teacher found out. Parents thought it was brilliant for a 10 year old and it gave me a LOT of disposable income.
