  1. Looks sweet. Is a top chop in the plans? With a chopped top, it would be killer.
  2. I like the new hood. I'm sure with a little filling and sanding it would be perfect.
  3. Looks good. I would recommend that you have a strip of bare metal on either side of the weld. Weld does not stick to paint very well, but I have seen "weld through primer" before but never tried it myself. Or paint over it.
  4. I don't know where you are, but a few years ago I worked at a detailer/aluminum polishing shop. We used a product called "Tal-Strip" aircraft paint stripper, to remove the cleat coat from wheels before polishing. It can in a liquid and a spray. The spray is easier to use. And yes neoprene gloves and safety classes are a must, as with any corrosive chemical. We got it from an auto-parts store.
  5. I like it. You should call it "Dominator's Pizza". You may want to add some N.O.S. to that big boy.
  6. If no one else likes it, I do. That blue suites the RX-7. After seeing your other builds, I'll be watching this one.
  7. I'm not a "snooper" but I know exactly what I'm getting Model, wise. My girlfriend has disabilities, so I need to take her just about everywhere. The rest of my family takes me to choose. Nobody really know what I have, lol. I'm getting two Revell Choppers, one of those four packs of AMT kits from Wally World. It has 49 merc. 55 chevy, 56 ford vicky, and 58 chrysler 300c custom. Oh yah, I got my kids both Revell snaps. One is the 63 Corvette Conv (for my 8 year old daughter) and the other is a 70 Chevelle (for my 6 year old son).
  8. I don't know if anybody has stated this one but i have to say Tommy May's "Yellow Fever" chopper. Just amazing. Here is the link: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...ic=6592&hl= I have to say if you want to see the build up you have to go to the "other" forum. I'm going to post the link and hope i don't get banned, lol. http://www.scaleautomag.com/sca/community/...;TOPIC_ID=41112 It is quit long, and there are many other posts of other peoples builds, too. You will have to contact him to get more info. He is on this forum, too, so it shouldn't be too hard.
  9. those are some nice mustangs.
  10. Sweet Merc. I love the front mount supercharger. You don't see them to often, because they are a real race only item.
  11. Looks like a nice build. keep it up.
  12. Me i do most of my modeling right here, in front of the computer. I just work between key strokes. Window"s Media Player is usually blasting out 70's and 80's hard rock/heavy metal. Ozzy, Metalica (oh wait, that's 90's), Pantera, Fait no More, The classics. If you ever get a chance listen to the band called Apocalyptica , they play hard rock/heavy metal on Cellos. It's just amazing.
  13. WOW!!! what kit is that? I've never seen one of those, but I am young. Those rear tires may be "over the top" but I want some.
  14. I've never seen one of those. Who makes it? Are you still working on that?
  15. Nice tuner, the graphics are sweet. I don't know why but tuners don't get the love they deserve. In all honestly tuners are modern Hotrods.
  16. It's great to hear you are get what you deserve but did I just read that right? Texas has a Clunker Law. I weep for all those car that are going to the crusher.
  17. I love old build ups. It's a great way to get a peek at the way thing where done in the past. Back when I still lived with my parents, I used to sneak into the basement and look at all my dad's old kits and builds from the 70's.
  18. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. At that time, I was just getting in to the hobby, solo. Before that kit I had built monogram's 78 Camaro, 70 'Cuda, 66 Chevelle street machine, AMT's 57 Bel Air, and Revell's 70 Mustang just before the AMT/MPC 69 Mustang. It was a HUGE disappointment. It was my first experience with a poor kit and it still scares me to think of that kit. There are many great kits from that era and earlier. I love the old 3'n'1 kits, the AMT 57 bel air is by far my favorite kit, starting out. I still have a few in the "stash". I wish all kits had options, so the builder could make it there own. As we speak, I'm working on an AMT 72 Chevelle, based on an old annual, it is not a great kit but with a little work it could be. By the way does any body remember the old Stone, Woods, and Cookies Willy? I loved that one, but it was so hard to build, even with my dads help it was a nightmare. It was reissued in the late 80's in the "Street Demons" series.
  19. Ok, I'm in, I'm a 1:25 scale bigot. I've never worked with is resin. Do you ship to Canada?
  20. That is sweet. does that use the 1/24 scale Shelby doner kit? Is that hood in cluded? That stang is begging for a thunderbolt 427.
  21. Looks sweet. I'm not a lowrider guy, but I love all El Caminos. The front suspenion looks better than any 80's kit I've seen, is that from the 70 monte?
  22. I wonder why nobody has mention the old annuals from the 50's, 60's and early 70's? The fit issues on those make me . I know I'm young and spoiled with all the great kits around these days but come on. In the early 90's I bought an AMT 69 Mustang, the chassis fit was so poor that there was 1/2 an inch gap between it and the body. The chassis in itself looks nothing like a 1:1 69 Mustang. The AMT 67 gto is something else, the kit needs surgery to get the wheels to center in the openings. I could go on but you get the picture.
  23. Nice scans but was the Econoline ever kitted? My dad had a "hot rodded" Econoline with a 302/c4, big castle painted on the side.

    Car lot

IMO this guy thinks he is a big shot, but dated. So he should drive something that was classy 20 years before your desired time period. It should look like it has no been cared for since new (read beater). Something odd that you would not see every day.
  25. Sweet, that thing is fifties fresh.
