  1. I realized something as I filled the Jeep today, don't matter how fast the pump pumps............. at +1ºf, it ain't fast enough
  2. Really? The West Chicago store usually had their's open and in racks like my store had.
  3. It's been a couple years since I was in one last so............when did Hobby Lobby start locking up their spray paint?
  4. THIS!!!!!!!!!
  5. If we get much more snow, you could start hiding full sized vans and SUVs behind some of these piles. Let's just hope that they don't get big enough to hide school buses!
  6. And then there is Brutus.............
  7. Didn't Waylon Jennings also have survivors guilt because he wasn't on that plane?
  8. I think this happened before they could do much more, although considering that BB was about to be a father, it could have made a difference there for him if he had lived.
  9. That was today? Roger Peterson was the cousin of Mom's Dad and one of her Sisters is married to a man who was at that last concert. We never knew about it until the Richie Valens movie came out and Mom's oldest sister told us that. Apparently their folks felt than since Mom and her sister who married one of the concert goers were teens, it would be best if nobody in there school knew of the relation other than happening go also be "Petersons" and never even told them about his passinf. Mom's oldest sister kept an eye on the three of them while Grandma and Grandpa were at the funeral. If that movie hadn't been made, my Aunt may have taken that to her own grave 15 years ago.
  10. It would be the same if he opened a shop and had to contend with weather like this, even if he were to make it to his store, there might not be many customers willing to come out...........believe me......................
  11. Oh, usually here in Illinois, you're only supposed to spend just enough time in the passing lane to get around slower moving traffic then get back over in the slow lane, and then you shouldn't even be running any faster than reasonable to pass a slower vehicle. Technically, we shouldn't be speeding or running slow enough to block traffic. I don't see many people get pulled over speeding unless it's in an area that is watched closely and I haven't ever see anybody running below the limit get pulled over for restricting the flow of traffic.
  12. Honestly, I've been zipping along running 15+ over in the slow lane and get passed like I'm doing the posted limit. Other times, I can be cruising at 5 under in the fast lane passing people like they're sitting still............and usually it's one of the above Toyotas, or in some sort of pre-bailout Buick sedan.........
  13. Believe me, I've burned a lot of gas and licquor in his drive ups over the years, especially Naperville, Batavia, and St. Charles!
  14. That drives me nuts too Mark, what makes that more aggrevating is that it's usually Toyota Camrys, Corollas, and Siennas, all of which have more speed parts available for them than my Chrysler 200 does..............
  15. We've already recieve some of the retro boxed car and plane kits at my HTU.
  16. Trust me, we don't want any more either! There is some talk that we've nearly had as much this winter as some of the worst winter around here have dumped on us in years past........just we haven't had it all in one shot like before
  17. I don't think I've ever seen a Portillo's that isn't busy during lunch or dinner. Even last night the St. Charles one had to have at least a half dozen cars in the lot after 9pm and it was a Sunday night! Honestly, if I ever move out of the Chicagoland area, Portillo's is likely the only thing around here I'd miss too!
  18. Ran over to a Portillo's last night to get food for Dad and myself and found the Target next door had piles of snow taller than my Jeep! While I didn't shoot any pics of it, the strip mall my store used to be in was much the same way.
  19. I just looked it up too, weird part is that was the second thing to pop up on Google when typing in just the word Essential?!
  20. I'll be heading out after lunch to clear the drives and back yard, luckily there us a Jeep sized section that shouldn't be bad, maybe a Ford Ranger sized one in the neighors drive too. Dad borrowed my Jeep to go get breakfast for him and Mom and was happy he did. The city plowed the drive in and their van wouldn't have made it out if he had.
  21. Ooooooohhhhhhhhh, that yard looks awesome for running a scare r/c truck!
  22. Same here, wouldn't mind just skipping February and go straight into May?
