Weird cars!
Joe Handley replied to Jantrix's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
Beats me, somebody posted this pic on a thread on RCCrawler dedicated to headscratchers like this........seemed appropriate here. -
Be happy we don't live near you or a nice place to keep it Chuck, Dad would probably be all over that car if we were! His first car was a hand me down '50 Plymouth that he got from his mother. He and his uncle mildly customized the car and he put a good bit of work getting more power out of that Flathead I-6 too. He's said it would give some of the big Y-Block Fords a run for their money running a 1/4 mile on some if the country roads by him.........although it had to be limped or towed back to the farm for a little TLC and new rod and/or main bearing after some of those races. I think those were the races that he took down some of the Paxton equipped Fords with the car, much to the displeasure of those owners.

Doesn't quite have the style or presence of any of the Blastoline beasties.................. -
I've gone well above that 15% in my '98 Cherokee via splash blending during the winter with the only issue being where I choose to do so at and how it has to be done at that location. Needless to say, I'm not worried in the least. If we had stations that would sell E15-E25 straight from the pump, I'd run that in it all the time. I'm actually more concerned about the Toluene that is present in gasoline and it's affects on my Jeep's plastic gas tank and any other plastics in the fuel system, since that is like blending Testors' Red Tube model cement into the gas.

Nice score there Nick, those have to be my favorite style of stamped steel rims, don't care if they're GM, Chrysler, or AMC!

It was for me, I think the one in my Jeep was around $45-$50 and is a similar in filtering surface area and I was able to easily find it. Then again, being a Cherokee, it can be a struggle not finding parts for it!

Thanks, I've had one in my Jeep for around 100k miles, been nice to have in it just for the cost reasons alone. That's not going to be a problem, Chrysler uses Speed-Density systems that use MAP sensors instead. We're all good there

$40! When I was trying to find one after the dealer's service department told me "it needed to be replaced", I found nobody local carried one (which also fits the Avenger and Journey with the Pentastar V-6), but they could order one. $60 for the filter and all but one place also wanted another $12-$15 to have it shipped to their store! Summit had them for only $40 and another $10 for shipping, just never got around to ordering one. When talking to a buddy who's working on De-FUBARing a 5.0 GT Hatch, he told me he was planning on ordering stuff from Summit and would order one for me since his order was going to be big enough to get free shipping no matter what. Had him add it to his order, and the mountain of boxes showed up before he came to work yesterday...........apparently, that K&N was one of the smaller items he ordered

New cars introduced today.
Joe Handley replied to charlie8575's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Found this on the 200 owners forum I joined a couple years back, if Chrysler continues with the 200 convertable on the new chassis, I hope it looks like this! -

Neat build, road looks like it has to be a whole lot of fun too! -
I had a customer tell me last week that he was in a store that wouldn't take cash or check, debit or credit only?! After he found out, the told the owner or manager that the store lost his sale because of that policy the walked out leaving everything behind.

We already have a skim layer here, if this keeps up, I may have to at least break out the shovel, if not the snow blower.

Could be the alloy it's made out of, there are some pretty stout alloys out there, but it has to be expensive. -

That's something that they will have to adapt to, maybe some clever body man will open a shop to repair aluminum bodied vehicles exclusively since there will be more and more being built in years to come. -

I like the 200 from the "leaked" pics and info I've seen, if I were in a position to buy a second one or something happened to cause me a loss of my current car, I would definately look at that. Maybe a similary trimmed '16 but with the Jeep AWD added to the mix I just hope they add better tires to the mix too, mine has the factory 18's (which are the optional size.on the Touring model, stock is 17"), and those come with 225/50TR18 Goodyear Eagle LS2. They would probably be ok on the 4 cylinder/4-speed rentaslugs, but aren't really enough for the 4 cylinder/6-speed cars and you can believe me when I say that those are nearly useless on then V-6/6-Speed cars like mine that make 100hp more than the 4's do. Dry pavement is marginal, wet pavement more or less requires, then the few times I've driven it in snowy conditions instead of my Jeep, the traction control light looks like it's trying to send morse code at the slightest throttle use! -
I refuse to get a debit card, actually had somebody give me a hard time about that and about a week or so later he had somebody snag his debit account info while buying R/C parts on line! Actually, one of my reasons for liking to buy fuel from Woodmans is that they will take personal checks at the gas station!

Mom is in the hospital (CDH for the locals) and as I pulled into the underground parking I found this 4-Runner parked in the entrance lane last night. For reference, here's a pic I shot today.
