  1. That's what I was thinking, those things appear to run faster than a person could walk or jog the stuff back to the athletes.
  2. Luckily the only scrape has been on that plastic under engine shield!
  3. Lol, the whole ground clearance thing is one thing I fear now that I'm D.D.ing a car again instead of my Jeep, there's one lot in Geneva that I have to leave the lot one wheel at a time out of fear for scraping..........that's the same drive that if I leave it a wee bit too "fast" in the Jeep with worn front shocks, it hits the front bump stops
  4. No Problem, I was wondering why you put a mid sized concept car up with a bunch of sub compacts
  5. Hey John, did you mean to include the Chrysler 200 concept car in that column of car pics
  6. I'd love to know what they used for the drive train of these things as well as what they used to power them, supposedly they only got 30 minutes of of the batteries
  7. Now that's different and cool, plus I don't need a tetnus shot to look at it!
  8. Are you blind, legally at least? They're pretty distinctive when compared to other cars in their class, especially from the back, those tail lights will look pretty cool at night
  9. Bought the AMT Avanti tonight at work..........couldn't fight the urge with that one
  10. My Dad is a retired railroader, there have been some interesting stories, and even the police aren't immune from such stupidity! Just today a Chicago cop got her unmarked CV infront of a CTA train............a fairly large, polished stainless steel, inner city commuter train........... >_>
  11. If it was still here in Chicago, sure, I would have.......not driving to Ohio gor it though, last year was barely worth the gas money to get there from the next county west.
  12. Gotta agree with the Top 35 and "The Chase", just stupid. More short tracks and road courses would be great, Dad and I have gone to Toad America last three years for the Nationwide races and it's been a great event to go see............even if we sit near people who have had more booze to drink than my 200 did on the drive there, or any of the Nationwide cars running there
  13. Didn't John Schneider also use his for one of the movies too? I think the late 90's movie from after Denver Pyle passed on.
  14. Or the guy who told Dad the Long Ram (over the valve covers) Chrysler 383 in his high boy 5 Window Coupe (it was a Mopar, can't remember which one) as a small block when Dad asked him if it was a low (B motor) or raised (RB motor) deck............
  15. You can always tell who pays somebody to fix or build everything, whole different attitude and not always the one you want to deal with from a parts guy, mechanic, or even a service writer's standpoint.
  16. Weird and cool!
  17. In the races we run at the HTU I work at, the cars like that are one of the more popular classes we have!
  18. Forgot to post this last night, found it funny;
  19. I'd still like to get my hands on the RC version of that little guy that Tamiya makes!
  20. No, IIRC they're made specifically for NASCAR use. but have to have factory part numbers to make them "production" engines.
  21. Thought I heard somewhere that to help make the '68 grill look like a '69, they were making the center divider and putting them on the '68 grills for what ever car had that grill on it.
  22. IIRC they were buying what ever '68-'70 Chargers they could get their hands on and doijg what ever was needed to make them look like '69 Chargers. The 70's usually got a '68 or '69 front clip and I'm not sure what they did taillight wise on the 68's.
  23. That's pretty cool, and I somehow get the feeling James May's 1/1 Airfix Spitfire inspired it too.
  24. Problem is though, there are fully functioning idiots out there that can miss a brightly painted locomotive with rumbling diesels, flashing lights, lowered crossing gates, and people yelling for them to STOP!!!!, I'd hope those noisemakers would work. I have heard a Tahoe hybrid running on electricity, sounded like a vacume cleaner, Volts are quieter, but you still get some mechanical noises from it. They did for the scooters they use in one of the Scandanavian countries, it could be a crash hazard though.............hard to pay attention to your surroundings while laughing that hard
