Wow, sorry to hear this, at least he has some friends there already. -
We got our power back almost a day ago, but some of the damage around here is alot like we had last time a microburst hit here in '07. Gotta go to downtown Wheaton and get the plate sticker for my Jeep since I forgot about that untill 2am on June 30th......and the renewal is in June........luckily, I can at least drive in the 200 and not worry about getting stopped for expired tags!

Can't be worse that some of our local roads, at one point I thought I was going to have to convert my Cherokee into a Rallycross Truck or Desert Racer to run on paved roads

Weird part is, we do here too! The Fox River is still down several feet (about as much is it was up last summer!) , Dekalb and Sycamore are dry as a bone and is more of a rural area than where Harry and I live. A friend stopped by his Mom's house in a small town called Virgil and saw that her yard was on fire! He went in to ask why they were burning garbage (yea, that far out of the burbs!) and they told him they weren't, the yard actually caught fire!

Yup, one of my co-workers lives in an open part of Elburn and he thought he and the family were going to get blown away! The storm must have curled around kinda funny if it also hit Elburn yet missed Dekalb, Sycamore, and Rockford. BTW, If you head south on County Farm towards Winfield next few days, watch out for trees in the road just north of Geneva Rd. They have barracades up blocking the road where the trees and such are on them, but the blinking lights are not working........not fun to run up on at night! Myself and the guy drivimg a first gen Quest had a few emergeny manuvers to make............ .

I was talking to a customer today that lives in Sycamore and who's wife works for Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield. He said that his wife called and asked bow bad the storm was at home and they saw nothing and it is still dry as a bone out there and CDH was right in line for the storm that blew through St. Charles, Batavia, Geneva, West Chicago, Wayne (Army Trail in down town Wayne got tore up too). I noticed the clouds rolling in from the south just as I go to the store and it hit not long after we opened, luckily the only damage at the store was a floor that needed a little mopping and a.new employee had the fiberglas bedcover ripped off his beater truck and swamped the park fliers he had in the bed and break the verticle stab off one of them.

James Mays " toy story "
Joe Handley replied to Sixx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That was a neat series of shows to watch, it was kinda funny to watch the plasticene garden and how close to real their garden turned out....and how many people didn't get the whole concept at the flower show it was entered in. -
Don't know how it is up by Harry, but West Chicago got drilled yesterday pretty hard. We had no power for about 24hrs at home and the parts of town that pre date WW2 had streets that were covered in trees and such to the point the weren't passable right after the storm!

Just got an email update from Round 2 and they had something about this kit on it! http://www.autoworldstore.com/p-1419-amt-usa-1-2010-chevy-camaro-coupe-125-scale-model-kit.aspx Turns out it is a tie in to the USA-1Monster Truck after all! -

Here's what was posted on the Traxxas RC Forum about the matter in a thread called "This is the future". -

Hope you're talking abuut the Camaro, That's kind of generous if you're talking about the truck kit -

Well, the Everett Jasmer USA-1 truck wouldn't as far out of the public eye as Bruce Larson's USA-1 drag cas are, especially for those of us who aren't old enough to have seen him run. That is the Camaro's stock number, I figured that's the one you wanted.......I'm kinda surprised that we sell so many of those USA-1 snap trucks though, we only carry one at a time and are always reordering them!? -
Um......huh?
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The truck kit show is the 1/32 snapper, would have prefered grabbing the 1/25 kit for the pic, but we're out at the moment. -
Um......huh?

AMT778 Could be, but the graphics are closer to those of the USA-1 Monster Trucks, that's what caught my eye. -
Um......huh?
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Reason I'm wondering about the tie in is with the graphics being so similar to what the monster trucks use (and pretty cool looking pdate at that!) it took me by surprise. The two kits weren't wrapped together btw, I just placed them side by side for comparison purposes. -
Dad and I stopped by work and saw this Is Everett Jasmer doing a Camaro that's tied to his Monster Trucks and shop, or is thissomething that Round 2 coocked up for their Camaro kit?

Sounds like a good change! -
I only drive Downtown for the Auto Show any more, I've taken a train down to go the The Museum of Science and Industry and the cab ride from the train station to there was........not for the faint of heard..... Cab ride back wasn't so bad, both were pricy though, for just a day trip like that it would be cheaper to drive the Jeep out, pay to park it, drive home........and that includes getting lost going into the city or heading back out while paying $4 a gallon for gas!
