  1. One thing that I would consider being an advantage for a stand alone store would be if the building was purchased to be used as a shop instead of renting it from somebody else because then the building belongs to you and the bank (before the loan is paid off) so the only people to have any real say in what you do there is bank and the city. You shouldn't have to worry about rent changing every time the building gets sold to one management company after another and them complaning about something of your's that can be seen ruining the value of the property.
  2. Well, the way their people sometimes handle stuff, you need to pay attention to that
  3. Not sure on a blown flathead, but the AMT '49 Merc has a flathead and they've added some nice hot rod goodies for it too!
  4. I've heard that there is supposedly a race track in an old bread factory in a baaaaaaad part of Chicago along those lines. I think some of the rc people from AL's are involved (but the shop itself isn't) and you have to call when you get there, they unlock and open a garage door for you to drive your car into the building and park. Apparently the area is bad enough that nobody would complain about the noise and they have to park the 1/1 cars inside to protect them too
  5. I like hearing that Ken, I'll have to watch the shelves at work then!
  6. Once you get rid of that rat's nest of emissions junk, that Pacer should be fairly easy to work on....that is an earlier version of my Jeep's engine after all!
  7. ehhhhh, old Italian cars in a barn.....think I'd take my chances with that 12 mile Pacer instead reliability wise.
  8. Other than the occasional iTunes music purchases, I don't shop on line what so ever.
  9. That's what we figured, use the sales floor, parts store room, and office for obvious stuff, then there's plenty of parking up front, lots of room for parking lot racing along the side or out back, you could use the shop area as an indoor racetrack, indoor flying area, and/or if there are cubical dividers left, an airsoft shooting gallery too! If they have individual mini offices, knock out a few walls and make them larger rooms for parties, club meetings, classrooms, ect.
  10. A co-worker and I both thing an old car dealership would makje an awesome location for an all round shop.
  11. Real, and I think it only has brakes on the rear axle (and hopefully a 'chute then too )
  12. The one I work for got a couple kits in Brandon.
  13. Looks great!
  14. Here's some more I actually know the guy who's doing the driving for this video, he said that he was spinning the tires into 4th gear...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wYHDmE2RZE&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL and this thing is streetable and has since broken into the 8's
  15. I'm at work right now and just checked to see if they were in the HTU system and as of right now they are and are only $10.99 for the sets at retail price
  16. Hmm, looks good so far, wonder if my avatar is still useable.....if not, it's time to change it anyway edit Ok, looks like it got rid of my Jeep one and replaced it with one of me doing doing my Sasquatch impersonation
  17. I can already imagine what I would be saying....and it's nothing that I can repeat on here
  18. My turbocharged '85 Lebaron would do that after I put a Dynomax Ultraflow (straight through glasspack) on it, sometimes just pulling into a spot next to or starting it next to a car with an alarm would set it off and a friend of mine who is almost 100% deaf could "feel" the car's exhaust in his eardrums Kinda wonder if my Jeep will do both of those now that it's got a Magnaflow on it too.......guess a few tests are in order
  19. Holy cow! I thought that this was going to be a picture of the real car, not a diecast
  20. The guy at the museum said it was the car used for the "what She's Supposed To Look Like" model at the event.
  21. Good idea, is that an in progress resto or low rider?
  22. Had that happen many years ago with an RC body, shot it an acrylic bright yellow/green (I may have been going for Sassy Grass Green with that one) that had a glow in the dark paint mixed into it and I barely got the lexan covered when I'm suddenly in a swarm of these little greenish gnat things that landed in the wet paint, got stuck to the masking tape, and such all well within 5 minutes
