  1. Are you selling the 1/1 car or is there another one up for sale?
  2. ROFL, I was just thinking that there must be a bald troll somewhere near his workbench
  3. I'd actually buy that kit, even if I wouldn't build it just for the "hey that's kinda neat!" factor. It's just odd enough to trip that part of me that digs those kinds of things
  4. They're not styrene or CJ's, but here's two of the last three Jeeps I've worked on The third would be my daily driver Cherokee but that was when Dad and I did front brakes and u-joints a couple months back....................
  5. Sounds like the police need to get involved in this one Decker
  6. What browser are you using? I had issues with IE7 at work getting this forum to work right, but non with IE6, IE8, or any of the Firefox's. Usually the box you type into is at the bottom of the screen just like the quick reply box on the Real or Model portion of the forum, but on the computer with IE7 that I tried to use wouldn't bring up that box and I couldn't even get anything to post and had issues with just trying to post in a thread like this one
  7. I think I know what you're talking about with the "freak drops", but I can't remember what those are called off hand either. The saran wrap thing is still being used by people who paint RC bodies too but now call it "marbling", usually spray some kind of pearl paint onto the inside of the body that take saran wrap or cheap, store sourced plastic bag and twist it into the still wet paint then back coat it with another color afterward. Another trick some RC guys do is to get some of the rubber like shelf liner that is molded to have a woven style shape to it. You lay it down over the lexan in the same way you would the lace, then shoot a silver or light gun metal color paint through the liner, you then remove the liner and back the first color with a metallic black, dark gun metal, or charcoal. If done correctly it will give a bit of a carbon fiber or woven graphite appearance to what ever you apply it to. *EDIT* AhHa! finally found the kind of liner I'm talking about for the Carbon Fiber/Woven Graphite look! http://housewares.hardwarestore.com/37-188-shelf-and-drawer-liners/magic-cover-natural-weave-liner-126179.aspx I've also seen people use this stuff and as a mask and claim it "looks like Carbon Fiber", but it comes out looking more like a line grid type graphic instead. http://www.homedepot.com/Building-Materials-Drywall-Drywall-Accessories/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xi3Zaq0l/R-100671081/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053
  8. I was thinking the same thing if Pete doesn't want to revisit the van door option. Do the Frankenstude setup on the back doors and do the Keoningsegg style opening on the front doors . I just remembered, Chrysler already had an opposing Lambo Doored showcar anyway. It was the Chrysler/Lamborgini Portofino concept car from 1987. http://www.topspeed.com/cars/chrysler/1987-chrysler-portofino-ar36647.html
  9. Mostly cars and trucks then the Radio Control stuff. The only plane kit I've bought is an WW2 Handley-Page bomber from R.O.G. that I bought because it of the plane carrying the Handley name Then of course, I bought this over the winter too
  10. Funny you bring this up, I had thought about doing something along those lines on one of the HPI ponycar bodies (probably he AAR Cuda....) just for the heck of it I even found these pics at the time too. It's being applied to a Radio Flyer style wagon, but is enough to get the just of how to do it on an external surface Hope it helps you some, and definately post up some pics when you get that LB done!
  11. Sadly, Aerodynamics for better mileage is more important that a great looking stylish car.
  12. I'm going to guess it's another giant scale model, there's just some stuff on it that don't look right to me...................
  13. Same here, I recognize most of those cars from that column!

  15. Looks like it was a good show! Dad wanted to go see it but he had paperwork to finish for work and after we had our power knocked out by the storms Friday then going up to Road America Saturday for the Nationwide race, Sunday was the only day he had to work on it.
  16. Those do seem to be more entertaining to watch. Dad was able to get tickets so we could go up to Road America this Saturday for the Nationwide race there
  17. Nice, I'm surprised that there aren't more video game car builds!
  18. The Mustang Mach III stuff really works well with the Mercedes body!
  19. Ditto on the wicked comments!
  20. TO be honest, I don't really want to know the answer to this one
  21. What's the exchange rate between the UK and US? The shop I work at asks $4.70 for a roll of the stuff.
  22. Venom Racing had some wheels like that for the RC Cars that were based off some American Racing Tuner rims, wouldn't mind seeing something like Foose or Billet Specialties for either hobbies to tell you the truth.
  23. I don't know, the ones in the post above your's were just hideous, when they were first published and now!
  24. Yup, definately take care of yourself first Pat. Hehe, same here! I swear every day off I have it's raining atleast half the day
