Who makes a good set? I've found 2 different casters, but the one that seems to make the nicer set appears to make paying for them difficult and the picture the other one doesn't appear as nice, but that could mainly be due to them being in bare white resin vs painted and photographed in a way that better shows the appearance of them.

I figured a little heating would work best with how much that daisey panel sticks up in relation to the quarters.

Thanks! Not sure how it will be on the Revell and reworked MPC/AMT glue kits, but a Dremel is very useful on the buttresses that make up the C-Pillars on this MPC kit. Had to grind those as close to the quarters and daisey panels as I could before getting them to where they are now, as seen in the last two pics in the first post. Also found there will need to be some heat reshaping of the daisey panel since it wants to ramp up instead of lay flat, again, not sure if that will be an issue with the Revell Chargers, or even the reworked MPC/AMT glue kits. Been thinking about adding door handles and mirrors from either the Revell kit or from an aftermarket source to this build too. Still may look for the Recall Wheels, especially after seeing how good they look on that red 1/1 I posted the pic of. I'll have to keep an eye out for both if I go to any shows this season, between Mom and work, there hasn't been much time for that, but now that I don't work Sundays, it'll be easier. Do you ever go to Wheaton or Lombard for their cruise nights?

May have done that too, they were a multi-talented group, after all! Mickey Dolenz is not only an actor and a musician, but he's a physics geek who has made two stops at the nearby Fermilab facility! https://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/aurora-beacon-news/opinion/ct-abn-crosby-fermi-monkee-st-0217-20170217-column.html

I'm out in West Chicago (near the DuPage Airport) and have somehow never seen that car! I'll have to keep an eye out for it now, hope it makes it out this direction.

A friend mentioned it to me before I saw it online, although he said it was the drummer who had passed (this friend is in his mid 20's), and when I asked about Mickey Dolenz he tells me that it was Peter Tork that had passed. He was surprised that I had been so familiar with them after explaining that Peter was more of a bass player as well as did singing, Nesmith's Mom inventing Liquid Paper and other little facts.

Well, just thought this would be interesting to build and that the MPC General Lee Snap-It kit would be a good starting point. I ordered up one of Missing Link's Coronet convertable boot and started cutting! To start, here's that boot, quick shipping on it too, thanks Missing Link! And now the victim, bought a several back in 2015 since I liked the kit and wasn't sure how long it would be available after Warner Brother's pulled stopped the DoH licensing. And here was the first cut with some masking tape used to protect the plastic while cutting. And here it is, topless and cleaned up some with my cordless Dremel. And here it is with the Missing Link boot, considering it's a part engineered for a 50 year old Coronet kit, it fits this recently tooled snap kit Charger frighteningly well, it even lines up with the C-Pillar butress footprint like it was made to! And now it is pieced together for now with the kit glass cut down to fit, but may use the windshield and vent windows from the same Revell '68 Charger kit I swiped the Magnum 500 wheel faces from, although I have contemplated a set of Recall wheels......being phantom build and all. Now one thing I won't do, however, it reangle the windshield since the phantom 1/1 builds are build off Coronets or Satillites, which used the winshield and vent windows from the sedans and taller with less rake, just looks off with the Charger's lines, as seen below.

Got my Federal tax refund today, still need to send in Illinois State taxes today, should be getting a little more back through there as well.

I had taken today off to go to the Chicago Auto Show before getting hit Sunday and the appraiser from my insurance company stopped by this morning and estimated the body damage at around $1k, not sure on the mechanical end until somebody starts dismantling the car. The visit was early enough that I was able to catch a Metra train into Chicago and a bus from the train station to the McCormack Place for $10 combined. Parking alone is around $20 if I drove and then there is fuel costs and the stress of driving down here. Way it's looking, I'll probably just do this again next year and plan on looking into doing this for any trips to the Museum of Science and Industry too!

Eh, I'm old enough to be her father, but still young enough to still remember driving in the winter at her age.

I was in a minor fender bender yeterday that managed to knock out my steering. Not upset at the girl that hit me, that intersection was kinda slick, plus this is her first winter as a driver, kinda, see this as a "stuff happens" moment . What did annoy me though was that it was this slick, but I'm not sure if there was any clearing or salting done until AFTER I called 911 for us, and we were passed by at least 5 more by the time my 200 was loaded on the flatbed to bring it home. Oh, and that first plow by stopped to see if we were ok (we were), and in doing so, slid to a stop himself

My 200 doesn't make much noise, but it does pull hard when asked.........which unlike too much noise, does not get old. -

I would like to see how it works out, this would be great for a variety of racetracks surrounded by NIMBYs and even street racers since the noise is greatly reduced. -

I'd probably go for a Demon over any COPO, CJ, or Drag Pack, just due to the fact that it can be registered for street use. That said though, that eCOPO set up in anything light like a backhalfed 2dr Caviler or Cobalt, or even 2wd XJ with a Gasser like stance would be mindblowing and fun. -

Formula E no longer has to do that either, their new cars can go a whole race on one charge and run quicker lap times too! Apparently they also have to run an entire season with just one battery per car, should be interesting to see how the gen 2 cars work out. -
Had a 4hr shift at work today and came out to find most of the snow melted off my car and showing 35° on the EVIC on the dash!

|At this point, that too is antiquated tech! This will likely have more in common with a modern brushless R/C car than any slot car, hobby wise.....it'll also have more in common with diesel locomotives than slot cars as well! -

Everyone Bring In Their Brass Monkeys???
Joe Handley replied to OldTrucker's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I just saw something about a newscaster in Minnesota had to wear eye protection to keep her corneas from freezing, the USPS suspended services in 11 states, employees in a refrigerated warehouse had to go into the coolers to warm up in the balmy 32 degree conditions, and most shocking, they've stopped delivering beer for the day in Wisconsin to keep it from freezing in transit! -

Same here, believe it or not, my Sister and her Husband slept through all that!I don't know how, since it seems like most of it came from the south end of the house where their room is, but that was spooky to hear! -
Hey Bill, thanks for posting that 3D Printed Tabletop video, I was watching it and my Sister recognized his printer as the same one the library she and her husband works at has and nobody has really figured it out so that it prints all that good. She had me forward this to her so she can forward it to a co-worker so they can start to get some decent prints with it.
