  1. Those were more of along the lines of Muscle Cars and Trucks, which is why I left off the Monte SS and 80's pony cars. That's why I suggested the XJ Cherokee, between replica stock, "Day 2", Overland, Trail Rig, First Car, Winter Beater, Work Truck, LeMons Racer, GRM $20--.00 competitor, Sleeper, ect. Lots of possibility and ability to draw in a broader audience that some smog laden mid-late 70's pile.
  2. Same thing GM is planning, and to some extent, FCA. Mid sized cars aren't selling all that well and small domestics are selling worse, so they're cutting those models and focusing profits from the lines that do sell on vehicles that will move the companies forward. Seems like they're going to put more effort into electrifiction and self driving cars......like it or not, those are the future. Not sure what Chrysler is up to, especially if they aren't working on more hybrids and EVs beyond the Pacifica Hybrid or 500e.
  3. Don't know about other clubs, but there is only one person in the club I'm a member of is younger than me, we had 2, but other just moved out of the area for work. Only kinda, I think those 2dr Caddy's died as between '79 and '81....but I think the later pieces from the late 80's-'90 specific parts bolt right up if you wanted to update an older car.
  4. Honestly, you're pretty well covered until we hit the 80's, since with the exception of the '83 Cutlass and 90's Impala SS, there hasn't been much between the late 70's Caddys and the Revell/Monogram Escalade for "modern" "luxury" cars.
  5. I'm in agreement with Richard Bartrop, there needs to be an effort to see what a younger audience is interested in, abd that would include Gen-Xers like myself (I'm 42). One movement that seems to gaining traction over the last year that I would look at and maybe even partner with if I were at Revell, Round 2, or had any period tooling that may have survived but no longer owned by the company they were made for, is Radwood. https://www.radwood.co/ https://www.instagram.com/radwoodofficial/ This focuses more on the 80's and 90's and if you look at that Instagram link, you'll see cars that would likely get laughed out of other events, short of the World of Wheels shows. Round 2 should have plenty of valid tooling and who ever has the Revell and Monogram tooling of vehicles from that era would as well, why not try and set up a licensing agreement like Revell had with Hot Rod Magazine/Peterson Publishing back in tbe 80's and 90's. Otherwise, I still want to see a XJ Cherokee model kit offered before I die, they'll likely sell quite well if marketed right (LHS, HL, Michaels, Jeep parts houses, ect). Look at the number of XJ builds in the Scale R/C truck market, you can get 2 different generations of XJ in lexan and there are "hardbodies" (ABS or comparable plastics) coming to market.
  6. That looks like that factory colorshift paint!
  7. Are you invoking Rule 34 here?!
  8. The newest reissues of the '49 Ford and Coke Machine Show Rod, plus a $30 HobbyLobby gift card from my brother in law, as well as a small pack of the Testors airbrush ready acrylic paints and non-toxic cement from a co-worker.
  9. If I was going to be that stupid, I'd be carrying my box cutter in there with me.
  10. Any info on that early jet slingshot DaddyFink?
  11. For me, something that off the wall, especially with the Arfons name painted on it too, would be a draw for me. Kinda reminds me a bit of the pulling tractors Art and daughter Dusty ran back in the 80's.
  12. Wonder how long before we see these two get the Outlaw treatment too, they seem like they could be perfect for it. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a25621700/porsche-718-boxster-cayman-t-purist/
  13. I saw a comment on an ad for the new Bumblebee movie in Instagram this morning that the commentor said that they thought wrestler John Cena would be good for the Jack Reacher roll.
  14. Don't give a rat's tookus on the drag cars, that Power Wagon though
  15. The KL is a pretty radical departure from our XJ's, but they've grown on me, in the "I could park a KL TrailHawk next to my XJ" sort of way....
  16. Well that escalated, and become timely, last I heard that joke, the guy only got a citation for possession of a firearm, not lead poisoning too.
  17. Final black friday order to arrive (also the first ordered) came today, R1 Concepts Geomet 13.39" front rotors to convert my 200 over to the bigger, Euro Market front brakes. 20181203_194617 by bjoehandley, on Flickr After this, I need front calipers, pads, hoses, and hardware, which are standard 2 piston calipers and parts used on all LX cars.
  18. I have an aunt that lives in a double wide, she and her late second husband bought it when he retired from the USPS in Sacramento and moved back to Iowa back in the 90's. It is actually pretty nice and if you were lead into the place blindfolded, you would have a difficult time telling what it is!
  19. My next Black Friday order showed up last night, now I can charge my R/C batteries without worrying about my old charger catching fire and run (lol, typed in ruin by accident) my Titan 775 swapped brushed E-Revo again too. IMG_20181130_184921_365 by bjoehandley, on Flickr If your cat is like my Mom is, he must be loving it!
  20. No pics here either since I kept seeing in early evening and now there is snow on the ground, but I saw this little Porsche 356 roadster (has to be a replica in this town) a couple times before Thanksgiving that I have never seen around here before.
  21. Now I like that, then again, I'm also own a XJ and it's the last surviving one of the 5 that we've owned since '92
  22. Check my Photobucket link, if they don't show up in those pics i White plastic, then the DD truck doesn't have them. I know they fixed the driver seat, it doesn't have Mr. T, the '78-'95 bumpers and the '82-'91 grill, but can't remember on the flares, running boards, or wheels.
