I did see that there had been a DUI within an hour of weed becoming legal, the country treating it like alcohol in those respects.

Anyone want an Indian Jeep?
Joe Handley replied to Tom Geiger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There's a lot of CJ suspension and drivetrain parts that seem to swap right onto them. The engine is a Mahindra diesel and it has a 5 speed manual but most of everything else is based on blueprints for the Willys and Kaiser eras/Pre-AMC CJ's. If I had a farm, ranch, or just a bunch of land and would need a small, side-by-side type vehicle, I would buy one. There seems to be quite a bit of interest in these from other Jeep owners that don't have their heads in dark and stinky places as well! -
Tired of your normal build subjects?

Those to car-truck abominations would make great tannerite fodder. -
Some years back I had a customef at the HTU I worked for say that he told his son that if he wanted to have a solid career that paid well, he needed to get into the distribution side of alcohol. His reasoning, when thd economy is good, people drink to have a good time, when the economy is down, they drink to forget their problems, so money is always coming in. That said, it won't be much coming from my family, none of us really drink

They're Losi 2.75" safety cones, sold in packs of 6. This is one of Losi's 1/18 trucks (now disco'd) on a tile floor.

More than they already do?

I made this last year based on the traffic cone Jack O'Lanterns that Disney has at the Carsland part of Disneyland, but used the grill and headlight shapes from different, aggressive looking cars. 20171009_221524 by bjoehandley, on Flickr Problem I ran across though was that the battery op mini Christmas lights I used were weren't working like I though they would/should due to hot glue not holding things. I found some electric tea lights the other night for cheap and picked some ShooGoo and mounted them with that. Turns out they worked great and it looks like the ShooGoo will too. 20181013_112317 by bjoehandley, on Flickr 20181013_112942 by bjoehandley, on Flickr 20181013_112916 by bjoehandley, on Flickr 20181013_112930 by bjoehandley, on Flickr 20181013_112258 by bjoehandley, on Flickr

If that was turbocharged, it wasn't factory, those should have had GM's Meh-tacular 2.8l EFI V-6, with that style nose, maybe AWD and ABS too!

Picked up the F&F Charger to help replicate the '70 R/T Mom and Dad bought new, apparently Dad had them detrim it to a 500 to help hide that it was one of the nastier version of the R/T.

Porsche Outlaws & Hot Rods
Joe Handley replied to afx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Can't help but to think that this car would look better with the tail lights Magnus Walker seems to like. Maybe even the front end treatment off that same 911....... -

Think the production Edsel was bad????
Joe Handley replied to thatz4u's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
BFG never really got them going, all that was theorized by "Won't somebody please think of the children?!" Busybodies. http://www.tirebusiness.com/article/19991011/ISSUE/310119994?template=printart&X-IgnoreUserAgent=1 -

Joe Handley replied to mademan's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This looks great, I think that's the color the '70 R/T my folks had was too......going to have to ask Dad next chance I get for when I build one to look like their's.............. -
I can't believe it.
Joe Handley replied to ewetwo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I can believe it, some people are just scum and it knows no societal divides, got a real eye opening working the service desk at a Toy's "R" Us in a wealthy area when it came to people demanding refunds, lying to your face, insisting that their credit card getting declined wasn't their fault, ect. -
Cadillac Interceptor in acton

I did Chris, windshield and A-pillars look an aweful lot like the '58 GM cars. -

Apparently they destroyed it by ramming it with a '57 to crash test those. -
Round 2/AMT Plymouth Prowler Concept Car Snap-It
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I may mod the fenders a little bit since they kind wrap around the outside of the tire. Been so long since I build it that I didn't even notice the pin/dimple until I bought the new kit and was looking over the parts and remembered them from that. -
Round 2/AMT Plymouth Prowler Concept Car Snap-It
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I took it to work to display in my cube', looks like the little alignment dimples that key the pins on the upper arms/fender pieces to the lower arm/upright/pushrod pieces weren't keyed in, so I fixed that between calls. Looks much better now -
Round 2/AMT Plymouth Prowler Concept Car Snap-It
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
That does look about spot on there Tom! Here's some pics I shot of my original built with the wheels and tires off the new kit and the original rolling stock next to the car with the parts from the new reissue. There are noticeable difference in colors of everything other than the chrome, glass, and tires. 20181007_213704 by bjoehandley, on Flickr 20181007_213824 by bjoehandley, on Flickr 20181007_213904 by bjoehandley, on Flickr After seeing that front fender gap, I may cut those off the front suspension on the new kit when I get around to building it -
Well, this is nutty............
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dad thinks that in using that 'Glide vs trying to fit something with more forward gears, not making tiresmoke and having that car be driveable will be difficult. Oddly enough, his mind went straight to using a C5-C7 transaxle in it too?! -
Well, this is nutty............
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Round 2 brought back AMT/ERTL's Concept Car promo in the past couple months (got picks of it and my original SnapFast kit posted here yesterday), but I hope they fix the stupid "Rides" issue wheels and bring the production car glue kit back, that would actually be worth the $30 like they're asking for the Snap-It kit at Hobby Lobby. -
Well, this is nutty............
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
They probably would have if there was one available for the LH cars, since these just used the engine and transaxle from those then separated them from each other with a torque tube to make these Rear Wheel Drive. I think that these may have been the second American production car that had the front engine/rear transaxle layout too, following the '61-'63 Tempest and beating the C5 Vette to market, think it was one of the first non Supercar uses of the cantilevered, pushrod suspension used on a production street car. -
Calling all Mopar Gurus.....
Joe Handley replied to mademan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's exactly what he was doing, even though he had owned multiple B-Bodies, he usually had them set up to turn and stop as well as go fast in a straight line, his '62 Plymouth and the '63 Riviera his folks (my grandparents) both had Firestone road race rain tires on them for street duty, apparently the Riv had enough work done to it that it could lift the left from kinda like the Farmtruck does when running on the street. Now that Charger could back up the look the L60-15 tires gave it too, it was a factory 440 Sic Pack/4 Speed/Super Track Pack car, even though he ordered it to look just like a cheaper, more run of the mill 383 powered car. I do wonder is that car got any confused stares with all that tire on all 4 corners like my 200 does when some car guys see it with 235/50r18s on the stock rims, but those probably never had the rental slug stigma that the 200/Avenger has........ -
Calling all Mopar Gurus.....
Joe Handley replied to mademan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dad ran L60-15's on the '70 he and Mom had back in the day, but he ran them on all 4 corners instead of just the back.
