  1. Can a dehydrator be used to cure filler putty sooner too?
  2. No pics, but picked up some painting supplies from the paint shop across town and took the black NeuBug over to show him how the refinish on roof panel worked out as well as the second NeuBug was progressing (and admitting that I have since bought a third that arrived today) and the C7 Vette that I'm planning on using the Effex Glitter Clear from Duplicolor over their Sealer Primer on. Also picked up a third Tamiya paint stand set after not being able to get the Presto dehydrator I wanted to get.
  3. Same here, but as somebody who spent 24 years working retail including around the time stores started this "we'll take anything back, in any condition" nonsense, I wonder how many weren't so much of a factory mistake as it is somebody reboxing and reshrink wrapping something then returning it, or taking it back with a mix of parts and unwrapped, returning it no questions asked so long as it looks to have a model in it, then the store employees not knowing any difference, re wrap it and put it on the shelf since there appears to be nothing wrong with it.
  4. That's kind of an issue with any transverse mounted V-Engine in a front driver, just worse if it happens to be a pushrod engine.........especially in a minivan.......................... Not sure if Dad's '06 Town and Country will ever get new plugs, I know with my 200, if and when I do, I'll probably buy the MSD Pentastar V-6 coil packs and swap them out while I'm in there, kinda want to get the RPM Motorsports intake tube for a "while I'm in there" mod.
  5. I've started buying more of the Tamiya Painting Stands now that I've had the chance to use the first one. Should make painting multiple bodies or parts at a time. Especially these few below that I'm trying to get these into primer and color and completed as I get the bodywork done. Not gonna lie, I love the stances of the Turbine Car and Gremlin, those Bugs look much better on the deck too.
  6. At least it wasn't your hand like the in my pics! I heard a "thunk" sound as the jumped in my had and next to my leg, looked down and saw that the bottom became an outtie, Think the side seam was also lined up with the palm of my hand too
  7. If you do, be careful and don't let things get too hot! This wasn't even boiling water, just extra hot tap water in a foam cup!
  8. Ok, thanks Art! Oh, paint came out better this time, did end up with a finger print in it when I accidentally touched it while fixing a couple small spots on the hood and over the passenger door window. I should be able to sand those out with 1000+ grit paper and not have an issue with sanding through.
  9. Would this be similar to the one you have Art and did you have to get extra trays for it? https://www.walmart.com/ip/Presto-Dehydro-Electric-Food-Dehydrator-06300/20924338
  10. His suggestion to try an adheasive remover was more of a Hail Mary, figuring it wouldn't hurt since the other choice was wetsand and reshoot anyway. I may need to look into a dehydrator at somepoint too.
  11. I've already wet sanded it and it's ready to get masked and reshot tomorrow after work, so long as it's not as humid as it is now.
  12. Was stripping the paint off the mirrors of the Revell Snap-Tite New Beetle I'm working on and lost one down the drain...............this is also the one I needed to wet sand and re spray the roof on...........
  13. Well, turns out it was91% Isoprpyl Alcohol I had, not 71%, kiiiiinda made things worse.........
  14. I agree with Bob, I've tried those cans and they don't work. You're better off with at least a 5 gal. tank and a bicycle pump or plug in compressor. I've actually had those cans freeze up on my and the only way around it was to put them in warm to hot water to counter that.
  15. The owner of the place I got the tape and primer I used from chimed in on my Instagram last night, he's pretty sure this is going to be a sand and reshoot too, but suggested trying an adheasive remover first, just on the offhand chance that might work.
  16. Bob Smith is typically CA glue, Epoxy, and they have a really good foam glue too. The CA or epoxy should be determined by need, since they have a variety of both. I like their tire and foam save gold label CA glues, they all work well. Some of their other CA's that are supposed to have different setting times and thicknesses, you will probaly need the kicker if it gas to stick NOW and it isn't your fingers to what ever you're holding (I found that to be a common rule for any CA), but are also good. The epoxies, 5 minute should be fine for our uses here, but if you're looking at wood R/C planes, consider the 30 minute or better epoxies. If you are building something from foam and it needs to be flexible, they have a great glue for that too, but it's not a CA like the gold label is.
  17. Had a small problem with the Revell Snap-Tite New Beetle I've been messing with lately. After shooting it with Testors Blazing Black Lacquer last night and deciding to paint the center of the roof as well as the mirrors, mirror triangles, and B-Pillars Model Master Black Lacquer tonight. Weeeeeelllllllll, had a small problem. I shot the roof right after work, went and grabbed dinner for Dad and myself and let it sit until I was done eating. Brought it in and masked off everything to paint the sides and when I brought it in and unmasked it, I found the adheasive on the 3M yellow automotive tape messed up the paint on the roof a bit. Other than that, I am happy with the finish and will clear it once the roof paint is fixed!
  18. This little man happened. Pretty legendary too................................................. https://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Bill_Hines
  19. I'm looking into getting rid of some R/C stuff including a car that I intended to build but have lost that desire to do so over the last 2 years and want to get of it via eBay. It's currently in pieces and I have a bunch of hop up parts for it that are all still in the original packaging that would be easy to use the USPS prepay boxes and envelopes for. Is there anything I need to know about selling through eBay since I've only done it once?
  20. Oh, that must have SUCKED!
  21. Now that could be "Dipped" or "Wrapped", which you can peal off and change the color of the car without having to drop big coin on a repaint.
  22. There are times in life in which fail must fall..... I tried to replicate the pearl bomb dip that Dip Your Car did on their S8 on one of the Speed Shapes I bought from Resto Paint yesterday, went like I thought it likely could, just not as I hoped..........came out like clear coated sandpaper Now my PrimeTime Grey experiment, that came out perfect
  23. Worth...every...last...penny... https://www.google.com/search?q=grabber+tool&safe=active&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiJ4aGihpDcAhUHS60KHZGwAjcQ_AUICygC&biw=1280&bih=699#imgrc=Lus8gAe2FawBcM:
  24. Picked up some of these to experiment on before putting paint to styrene if I want something larger to use as proof of concept for weirder for my crazy paint ideas.
