  1. That's good, period-correct stuff right there, Adam! Good reference, Austin.
  2. I'm mentally healthy ... I drink Tang!
  3. Great builds! Terrific theme ... following the development of a specific, benchmark concept car. Thanks for sharing.
  4. And we all paid for it ~ taxes provided the funding. I'd say "we" all had a role to play. That "couple of dozen people" didn't cover the costs from their own pockets.
  5. (Thanks and a tip of the hat to Joe!)
  6. I quipped that it had a weird perspective like San Francisco, not that I thought it was San Francisco. I could have said it has a weird perspective ... like Chicago ... Same concept, but that might have gotten me in trouble with Orahma Emmanuel.
  7. The car is real but the background is a model. Agreed. Weird perspective. Like San Francisco.
  8. Who did that!?! So, how's the weather?
  9. It's the GoodGuys 15th Annual Southwest Nationals at Westworld in Scottsdale (Loop 101 Freeway between Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. and Bell Road), Fri-Sat-Sun November 16-17-18. Longest running model car contest in the Valley ... c'mon out, you'll love it.
  10. Yes and yes. In fact, it was ASU people that comprised the largest demographic of the team that just dropped that lander on Mars.
  11. Excuse me, you shouldn't take offense. Your government and your countrymen don't call us fat and ugly. So, yours is not a country hostile to the USA, and Greg's message doesn't apply. In fact, there's very little difference between Canada and the USA at all. Other than you guys have been experimenting with socialist medicine for years. But, there's a stampede of Canadians to the US for medical treatment. And, for that matter, a little known fact is that more homes in Arizona were purchased by Canadians in the past couple of years than any other nationality ... including Californians and Martians.
  12. Thread was not what I expected. I thought maybe it was going to report that MartinFan5(5) didn't make it home from Wallymart last night.
  13. Wayne, I'm watching for your results ... Looking forward to seeing how they turn out. One can never have too many Mopar cop car wheels! Greg gives good advice.
  14. That's not an intake. He has no intake opening. That would be my only concern with the design of the car, no air for the fuel injection system. The "snorkle" stack emerging from the roof is for the middle exhaust headers ... this is a dual engine (side by side) car and that's how Ray solved the dilema of what to do with the center exhausts. Neat car, Ray!! Unique and nice-looking. Good build!
  15. Wow. Nice job, Lorenzo. You ought to drag that out to GoodGuys in November. The crowds out there would love it!!
  16. You missed some posts, Tom. They ARE ALREADY selling kits at Walmart again.
  17. Hey, now! That's not funny. But it does kinda look like the monthly meeting of the Marslight Modelers club. And they all dress like you do when you're model kit shopping.
  18. I don't know ... using Liquid Plumr ... even oven cleaner ... seems a little over the top when much safer products do the job ... safer. They're too caustic ... even volatile. It's a little like saying dynamite is good for removing paint. Really good. I mean, it completely removes it. Maybe so, but do you really want to use it?
  19. Yeah, the Renwall Visible V-8 and the Renwall Visible Chassis were both 1/4 scale. I believe they also did a Slant 6 and a turbo engine or something else in 1/4 scale before they abandoned the large scale ... and the model business altogether.
  20. Wow! Nice work.
  21. Yeah, maybe so ... But you sneaked in that infidel ... that ... cough, cough ... GLCharger ... ...in that last pic. Shame, shame!!! Don't anybody else get any danged ideas.
  22. Wandered into the neighborhood WMSuperCenter last night ... fully clothed ... and found they have shelf space for 2 rows of kits ... they had 2 each of the Revell '55 Chevy convt and the Ooooodi R8 Roadster. Big deal ... but priced big ... $19.97. So much for that.
