  1. I will. I'll mark it down from $50 to $49.95 ... just for you. Or, you can get two for $100!
  2. Yeah, probably so ... which may explain why it's called "AMT 1/25 '70 Ford Galaxie Interceptor Police Car" D'oh! Knew you'd like it. Now I have to go replace all those $50 price tags on my swap meet kits . . .

  8. How did "lover"-ing the rear fender work out for you? Will it be a long term relationship, or just a one-time thing?
  9. That's funny, right there, . . . I don't care who you are!!
  10. Super nice stuff, Edward! Looking forward to your windshield solution.
  11. Das ist ein cooles build!
  12. A vast array of small, tiny, and tini-er lights and wiring and switching components can be found at any decently-stocked model railroad shop. For colors, such as amber or red or blue, I've simply used the common Tamiya clear paints to coat the bulbs. Grain of Wheat (GOW) and Grain of Rice (GOR) bulbs can be had in either 3-volt or 12-volt varieties. At low voltage, the coating won't burn off. That means, the 3-volt bulbs are no sweat and if you run the 12-volt bulbs on 9-volts you shouldn't have a problem if you don't leave them on for extended periods. It gets dicey when you run the 12-volt bulbs on 12-volts ... Of course, LEDs are readily available at the model railroad stores, online, or from Radio Shack. With LEDs, they run so cool you won't have a problem with coatings.
  13. I believe those Lakewood bodies were produced in Southern Arizona by a gentleman named Bob Brooks. He's the only caster I've ever heard of making them. I don't think he's casting any more, you may be finding old ones that others have purchased and decided not to build, so they sell 'em off. I know it's true, but don't quote me on that ...
  14. And ... when out of the purple pond (which these days is more red than purple) give it a nice thorough wash with Dawn dish soap and water, then rinse thoroughly and set the parts out on several thicknesses of paper towels so the moisture will wick off and the parts air dry thoroughly. I use a plastic container (various sizes, just a enough bigger than the parts) for my purple pond and purple pondettes. Then I use plastic spoons* to fish out the parts (or small plastic salad/hor d'ourve tongs for bodies). That way, I have minimal contact with the purpleness. Much less skin damage. * I drill three or four very small holes in the spoon so as to better drain off the excess purpl-osity. Easier to handle tiny parts, scoop 'em up, and still not have the purple death splashing all over the workbench, etc. Super Clean (and its cheaper alter-ego, Purple Power) is wonderful stuff. It's all I use. Much safer than oven cleaner and no oily residue like brake fluid. And, it's much faster and cleaner than either of them. With the added bonus that it's biodegradable, so it goes right down the old drain. (Not recommended for toilets ... it'll damage the wax ring.) PS- I've heard ... but haven't yet tried ... that it strips even better if you play David Rose's 1960's hit record "The Stripper" in the background while it's working! 0h, wait ... I heard that on April 1.
  15. Kewl.
  16. Sir! Yes, Sir! Nice job.
  17. "Front Runner" if you will ... National Association for Secret-identity Car Auto Racing.
  18. YIKES ! I had this horrible NIGHTMARE last night ... I'm caught in a horrid traffic jam - a real rolling parking lot - while driving an old police car ...
  19. Licensing probably hasn't changed at all. But, perhaps since it's been awhile since there were fresh kits and since the actual 1:1 cars have changed so much since the last series of detailed kits, maybe they're testing the waters to see if new tools would re-invigorate the genre. Perhaps. I don't know ... I'm just sayin.'
  20. I've been speechless for 8-1/2 pages now. Gotta say something. SOMETHING! Something AWESOME!! Whoa, John. Beautiful build!!!
  21. Condolences and deepest sympathy for you and your family. God bless.
