True that! Sadly, the only ones to which grammar, spelling, respect and good manners are not important are the ones that have none. -

Yeppers. As I commented a couple of pages back ... "This thread is but the periodic reminder that in polite society, one cannot discuss religion, politics or the Dukes of Hazzard." So true. -
Beautiful, Alyn! Good luck!

Well, now, Dave, you make a very good point there! In looking at the assembled chassis, I see you are right ~ the tank seams are not very noticeable if at all. You guys did a very good job of hiding the seams and making the best of the situation. And most models aren't going to be picked up that much, they're going to be viewed on a shelf. And, I appreciate that you'll look at a different treatment for any future products with more exposed tanks. I guess we sometimes get carried away with the "small picture" critiquing when we shouldn't lose sight of the "big picture." The seams may seem to be a big deal when the tanks are seen by themselves ... but when we look at the finished assembly ~ not such a big deal. Having said that, let me say once more - what a remarkable kit you've produced here! WOW! Just incredible. Thank you all so much for all the effort to bring such a spectacular kit to market! Hope it sells beyond your wildest dreams. -
Whoa! Wicked nice ride.

Interesting! Love the Chaparrals. Good luck with your project. Looking forward to your pix.

Great color combination; nice looking build. Agreed: the stripe needs to be slit at the door openings ~ it really takes away from an otherwise very nice build.

No kidding! I mean, really. What does it hurt? It's not like BillBozo or Chimneyville or any of the modeling aftermarket decal makers are cranking out 1:1 decals! Sheeeesh! I suppose they want $$$ for licensing fees!

I totally agree. It is very unseemly! Seriously, I do agree. I don't know why they cannot go to the slight effort to give us tanks with unmarred chrome. Might as well not chrome them if they're gonna run a glue seam down the middle of them. -

There's a car in that picture? -
What a bunch of narrow-minded bullpuppy. I just don't get the thought pattern there ... and of course CSP is not the first agency to do that ... I just don't get how 1/25 or 1/18 decals threaten the agency. Guess they need to cloak all their vehicles with stealth stuff so no "unauthorized" photos can be taken ... etc., etc. On to other agency builds, then!

Not to mention saying, "comments and any help with PE welcome .. [sic]" Brought it on yourself. Be mature and deal with it. -
Here's another example of Bozo decals. This is an AMT concept Camaro dressed out as a phantom Colorado State Patrol interceptor. Gotta take some decent pix of this thing!

I learned to drive ... and drive and drive ... in a '62 Dart that my parents had. Loved that car! Still do. I could tell about the time I "borrowed" the family car for a Saturday night cruise. Went to a buddy's house and slipped on a pair of cheater slicks, then beat feet to the local dragstrip. After an evening of campaigning, we carried home the Pure Stock eliminator trophy. My mother never figured it out, but I'm pretty certain my dad had a strong suspicion! Especially when he caught me with the trophy a couple of years later. Their car is lonnnnng gone, but I'd dearly love to find an affordable '62 Dart 1:1 to own, pamper, and drive again. They were great cars. But, like Studebakers, Hudsons, and various occasional experiments by more mainstream brands over the years ... they were just a little too out there and a little too far ahead of their time. People in '62 just weren't accepting of downsizing or radical styling ... put both in one package, and it's no wonder the '62 Dart and '62 Plymouth weren't considered successful. Ah, well ... I still have (several) plastic versions to build and enjoy. That's why this hobby exists!

So I went to the mailbox today ~ and lo and behold ~ looky what was inside!! My brand new issue (#158 - "April") of Model Cars Magazine! WHOA! And, BOY HOWDY! That was KILLER FAST! You see, this is a free subscription that Gregg and MCM donated to Desert Scale Classic (April 16) as a promotional contribution. I won it, and mailed in the award on April 18. THREE WEEKS later, to the day, and here is the first mag ... already at my doorstep and its not even been a month! WOW! And, it's another great issue!! Cool stuff ~ including a great retrospective of Hubley kits, Lower Left Coast NNL coverage, a Lakester buildup, a diecast tractor buildup, a Ken Kitchen antique truck buildup, a Dennis Doty article and a Tim Boyd article, Tim Ahlborn's usual great column, a bunch of kit reviews, and some Hudson design ideas from Jairus' drawing board! Wow! And, Jim Keeler weighed in with a tribute to the late George Toteff. Did I say WoW!?!!! Thanks, Gregg and Golden Bell Press and the MCM crew for another great issue and ... for your unfailing and generous support of the hobby in general and Desert Scale Classic in particular.

The '61 Plymo is like most of Exner's designs ~ an acquired taste. But Tom Coolidge's PromoLite 2000 resins are ALWAYS exquisite! Great build!
