  1. I agree. If you've been in the painting industry 46 years then you know that.? The thing is people will run with a idea because someone says it works and not use any common sense then whine whether don't get the expected results.
  2. I would clear over any that represent paint and not clear over things like contingency and sponsor decals
  3. Yeah, it sucks. Try to save people headaches and troubles, but nope. It worked for me thus it's fine.
  4. People that ignore 35+ years of experience. Well it worked for me they say. Fine, is it really worth chancing wrecking a pet project?
  5. Then by all means do it. I'm well aware of that, I just think it's a safe bet to NOT. I really doubt these so called lacquers are really that at all.
  6. Exactly lol. Nice work.
  7. All three are well done. Which 63 Corvette kit is that?
  8. Because it depends. NASCAR models, you wouldn't put clear over sponsor decals, they are vinyl appliques put on over the paint. Even most 60's factory stock stripes were put on over the paint. You need to research what you are building, and try to find vintage photos if possible, restorations are not always correct.
  9. Fine. I suggest NOT. Mixing paint types is NEVER a good idea. Just because it worked once doesn't mean it always will. I believe in safe versus sorry. I guess I really don't know what I'm talking about, I've just been working with paint for over 36 years.
  10. Nicely done.
  11. Nice.
  12. Good job, love the 6.
  13. I wouldn't use it over enamel. Acrylic, future or enamel. Keep in mind Testors enamel clear yellows over time and will eventually effect the color.
  14. Depends on what you are building.
  15. Thanks. My first fenderless street rod.
  16. Nope. Alps printer. He prints white.
  17. Nicely done.
  18. Beautiful job on both.
  19. Lol. Did that with my 29 Ford. Took pics to send to friends, forgot to put on the exhaust tips.
  20. Thanks!
  21. Very well done.
  22. How about the stock kit? That looks great!
  23. Stunning! Thought it was 1/1 for a minute.
  24. Thanks guys. She's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy. My first street rod.
  25. Thanks guys. I custom mixed both colors.
