  1. X2! Where are those wheels from?
  2. Amen. Thing is I even see seasoned builders missing a very basic part of building a kit.
  3. Good job. The tail lights are hard to get right and you honestly did better than I did.
  4. Now that's my kind of vacation. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Rick is correct, acetone will work too, but is a "faster" reducer, meaning it flashes quicker. Bill also is right. No matter what paint you spray you should use a good respirator.
  6. No sir, nail polish is not acrylic, it is lacquer. Thin it with lacquer thinner to the consistency of 2% milk. Your base will heavily affect the final color as nail polish is translucent. It will take a number of coats to get your desired depth of color. This 37 Ford was painted in a flip flop nail polish with gray primer. Duplicolor primer should work fine.
  7. Nice moonshine runner.
  8. You should always apply some water to the model surface then once in position use a qtip or paper towel to remove excess water from beneath and on top of the decals then apply your setting solution of choice.
  9. Paul Alflen is good in my book. Kit arrived a day earlier than expected and with a extra body.
  10. Very nice.
  11. I've found a few websites with good underbody pictures.
  12. Some great underbody pics. https://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1963-jaguar-xke-fixed-head-coupe-3.8-c-2984.htm
  13. X2
  14. Very nice.
  15. Very well done.
  16. Well done.
  17. Well done. Hope mine is as nice.
  18. Both mek and acrylic cement have worked well on every kit I've worked on since I started using them. It's a good idea to have a couple options available depending on the quickness of setting and positioning time you need.
  19. I use MEK and acrylic glue. Both work well. Mek evaporates quickly.
  20. Me too. No they are not molded in.
  21. Not saying its going to ignite, but it's possible, and it's not a risk I would be willing to take. My family and property are more important. I've been in the painting industry since 1986, and I've seen a few things over the years. I believe safety is #1. You all can do whatever you want, but I would never suggest a unsafe practice to someone to do in their home.
  22. Fine. Do it. I just don't recommend it. Especially if you're using automotive paints. If it was me I'd rather be safe than . I guarantee any spray concentration is enough to ignite. I've seen it.
