  1. Looks like a Chevy Suburban on the boxart, which isn't included in the kit. Or anywhere in 1:24?
  2. If the plastic is acetate I wouldn't soak it in any case.
  3. Wind tunnel testing has always involved the use of models, actually, only a bit larger.
  4. Try these sites for ideas: https://www.customcarchronicle.com/ https://kustomrama.com/wiki/
  5. I thought a lot of interiors were white.
  6. Did you miss the smiley? It was a joke.
  7. Simple solution: mold kits in polyethylene plastic so they may be recycled with water and soda bottles. ? Municipal recycling centers in my area can't recycle styrene or ABS plastics
  8. I saw one at a military vehicle show in Rhode Island over 15 years ago. It has the look of mounting a sedan body on a 4x4 truck chassis. Here's a Volvo sedan for comparison: https://classiccarcatalogue.com/VOLVO_1940.html
  9. Had it been mentioned there was to be a short run of this kit? This is the first I've heard of that.
  10. A classic Disney film included some creative footage of model kits. (see 5:24 mark)
  11. In OK GO's video for their song "This Too Shall Pass", a Rube Goldberg machine is kicked off by the rolling of a diecast pickup truck emblazoned with the logo of a sponsor into a line of dominoes.
  12. The old mantra: Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
  13. This topic has come up numerous times over the decades, and it usually gets shot down in discussions for being too complicated. If a manufacturer can make it work, more power to them. Does regrinding styrene change the properties of the plastic?
  14. And people sometimes look at us funny for paying $100 for a model. ?
  15. I saw the lineup in the news that evening. I wish I had known earlier.
  16. Nice pictures. I hope more people here can post old pictures of car shows.
  17. How about a motorized 1:1000 scale Toyoda AA? https://japanesenostalgiccar.com/the-worlds-smallest-car-is-a-toyota-aa/ In all seriousness, there are some nice etched brass 1:160 kits that I have seen built very cleanly. I've had thoughts of detailing the tiny trophy topper that came with Revell's Mercury custom. ? If someone can built microscopic models, let 'em. It would at least be entertaining for the rest of us. ?
  18. The Blues Brothers film is several decades old at this point and the sequel wasn't particularly well-received IIRC, and even that one is a couple of decades old. FWIW there is a 1:24 diecast of the Bluesmobile. https://www.3000toys.com/Greenlight-Diecast-Bluesmobile-1974-Dodge-Monaco-Blue-Brothers-1980/sku/greenlight84011?gclid=CjwKCAjwqauVBhBGEiwAXOepkZV-vifyEACPkhNms_89Yvxu1DHmeJUtp2FH1BQ_Aq5JNGbyjPDOtxoC3TAQAvD_BwE There also is a 1:32 scale slot car by Scalextric.
  19. The history of jitneys, and today's ridesharing. https://www.saturdayeveningpost.com/2022/01/way-before-uber/ Alexander Winton and his horseless carriage https://www.saturdayeveningpost.com/2017/01/get-horse-americas-skepticism-toward-first-automobiles/
  20. I've always thought it was a skunk (hence the pun). I can now see it as a squirrel now, though.
  21. Interior bucket from a Pontiac Bonneville. What a stinker. ?
