  1. Cool looking Messerschmitt. I love the old micro cars.
  2. In my opinion the 507 always looked like the Karmann ghia. Of course, the BmMw is far more superior in terms of performance than the Volkswagen . I love the build. Your cars are very well done.
  3. Nice ghia, it looks very sporty sleek with that finish.
  4. I love Volkswagens. You did an exquisite job on your '46. A while ago, I was considering converting revell's 1951/52 beetle into a 1938 model.
  5. Beautiful Austin! I just got one also. But this is a mk 2 Austin mini by heller in 1/43.
  6. Danbury mints car were always the bomb. Today, and for a few years, Sunstar has been trying to replicate the details of the "mint" models with their platinum collection. I'd have to say, these cars look just as good as the Danbury mint cars. However the platinum models use less high end materials to stay in a price range of around $70-$100. These cars have a lot of bang for the buck. Also, the platinum models are in 1/18. But the Danbury cars are just a little nicer in terms of craftsmanship with more materials used. 1959 Pontiac bonneville: green (Sunstar) 1/18 white (Danbury mint) 1/24
  7. How do you sand orange peel on cars with a lot of tight corners and or raised edges without sanding through the paint with normal model sanding pads. For example, Ford model t. These cars have raised edges on the fenders and doors and hove a lot of corners. Should i use just polishing compound?
  8. I have a model car with a body that is made of die cast. It is unpainted and I have one question. Do you paint die cast the same way as styrene and do you sand it and polish the finish the same way? Could you use spray cans and or an airbrush?
  9. This bug looks great in that metal flake. I'm sure it is going to turn out great!
  10. It sounds like an odd topic but I used to watch his carroom magazine and report shows. You can find them on YouTube. But he also was on diecast X magazine and joe reviews tons of diecasts. He now hosts heavy metal models on his YouTube but he has reviewed models from companies like acme, gmp, autoart, cmc, sunstar, hotwheels, ottomobile, etc. But he is the man to see when it comes to model reviews. He does the best in depth tours of the cars and it is amazing. images from some of his video reviews
  11. Love the finish. All that foil makes it pop! Gotta love 50s cars with all their chrome glory
  12. I have not been working on models for a week because I have been frustrated with my first two builds. My 68 beetle and Meyers Manx. Both have paint issues and I am most likely going to strip the paint from them with purple power. However, on the bright side, at a car show, I picked up a vintage amt kit. The 1963 avanti Reggie Jackson collection. I'm going to begin painting the engine and chassis tomorrow (maybe) but for now i was practicing with BMF on the avanti script. And for my first time, it came out almost perfect! It took me like 15 minutes! But I think I'll just Polish through the paint with the foil under the paint to be sure no mistakes happen instead of trimming around the letters.
  13. I just dropped the body of my beetle. And I already put bmf and glued some exterior parts on it. The rear cracked and I need to know how to repair it. I do not want to repaint the body. Please help!!
  14. I have been working on many ther things on the model but last night a put before on the side spears. Since it was my first time it was a pain in the neck! It is not perfect but it looks better than silver paint or the chrome decals that came with the kit. Ive been working with bmf on the Windows. Pics of those coming soon I almost forgot, I used meguairs scratch X 2.0 to give it a better shine. It looks better in person.
  15. I might post photos of the wheels taken off. But it is tedious. The lug nuts are small. If you lose one however, there is a spare in the box. The drum brake detail looks pretty cool. The whole model is extremely fragile but is very gratifying because it is very well engineered.
  16. I payed $139 from www.diecastmodelswholesale.com
  17. Pictures of model. I had some technical difficulties.

  19. Cool looking Manx David and nice tires?
  20. I started painting the manx's tires into white walls. I think they would look good with chrome rims. I still need to paint the rear tires. i used a circle template to mask.
