The two Oldsmobiles are outstanding, would look great on my shelf. These two have made me consider building them for myself. On silver? I'm wondering what clear to use? I never can get clear to stick on without soaking in and looking dry...

That's plenty of time to get those dead builds across the finish line.. I don't have any doubt I can whip the 55 up in that time frame. I built this camaro last Friday cracked the seal on it at 7am and I was puttin it back in the box to attend Saturday's MDA show at 7:30 PM. (about a 12 hour build). "Non-stop to Dallas" using nothing but the parts in the box! Gitterdone! And it earned an award! Now that was a challange!

Here is one and I've built many of the originals. I have a couple of new ones to do also. My Highschool hot rod was a 60 Apache and I had a 61 too... Me posing in 89 beside it...

Ford Grabber Green...

I like this color... reminds me of Grabber green. maybe I'll paint it White and Grabber green?

As in white on the bottom and dark on top? Or like the Blue Galaxy Chrome illusion colors?

This thread has inspired me to finish stalled projects, weather it's attic finds or from my own Stalled shelf section. I'd like to see this go on all year long truthfully...everyone has stalled projects, nice to know I'm not alone. I'm struggling at the moment on the color for the 55... I've googled images but they all seem played out. My favorite 55 is definitely with two tone paint with white or silver top. I'M OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS!

I hear ya... I'm going to the IPMS show tomorrow so I'll bring back more junk from there and then next weekend is the MDA show... so even more junk... I'm so Excited!. I think you may be on to somthing with the Gasser angle though, you got me thinking...

Lol! Yeah I'm too critical of my own work. Turned out good three weeks worth of my efforts... Next one is gonna be Bad to the bone! and that 55 just hit my bench... Thanks! Here is a pic of where it all went wrong but I managed to get lipstick on a pig! I love the 36 Ford now and I will be building more in the future.

Finished this up for the "Get your butt in gear" Dead Build Challange. (other pics are in Snake's Dead Challange thread). The little stinker faught me alone the way but I'm glad to get it out of my head and on the shelf. it's not pefect but overall the vision I had. the best way I can describe it is when you finish a model and it leaves you wanting to build another one of the same kit but different and hopefully better. Thanks for looking and for the support. I don't say it enough but I appreciate you guys for your encouragement...

Lil' Elly is all done... I had some major set backs and it didn't turn out as good as I'd hoped but all and all it's the vision I had anyway. I did some research on the kit and found all kinds of opportunities, one of which is the chopped 3 window top that comes in one of the older issues. So now I have a plan for a fenderless chopped 3 window Hot Rod with a Chevy big block and while I'm at it why not a Big block Ford powered Classic for another 36 Street Rod? I like the kit's simplicity... and although I made the thing difficult It was a fun build.

I remember the story and CC even reported the car stolen in 94 as one of other cars taken from their storage warehouse. a 92 Buick Century kinda rings a bell. Anyway the Impala was a tribute for the Desert Storm troops if I remember correctly... I think I have some old issues of CC somewhere...

Pretty much when I got the paint on this 36 Ford I knew it had to be an early 60's inspired Custom. I kept the teardrop headlights but I chopped the top and removed the center out for another point of exit from the car. I wanted to chop the top so low that gettin in from the top would be easy by stepping on the running board. Although I couldn't chop it as low as I had envisioned I do like the overall shape. It's not my best work but overall the subject matter gets the point across. and aside from all that it's not typical of what I build so it gets me out of my norm for a change. I'm enjoying the build. Thanks for looking.... more to come. Oh and the "Pink Elephant" refers to the Hemi and It's pink. I named it "Lil' Elly"...

More progress!

I think the bug is about 6.5 inches long... I had to leave but I went down and took a quick measurement of it end to end...

I got this for my Daughter, she built it in 30 minutes Her first model kit. goes together real good. I seen this yellow bug yesterday in town I was inspired to build one now. I'm probably gonna start with the polor lights kit.

Yeah! There is a dirt track modified body (Wheelwells hogged out) on the Bay for like 4 bucks in case you were planning on making it a Race car. That way you could save your good body for a rainy day. I thought about gettin it and maybe puttin flares on it but I have so many already. I'm a sucker for them but I don't want to see it get wasted either. I post a link to it...
