This one is the car I'm talking about...I guess you painted it silver and now it looks like antique bronze...

I built another Camaro resently but it didn't look quite like I wanted it to, so I plan on kinda redoing it with different wheels and interior. I want it to look like the one you had built back in the day. (blue interior and torque thrust wheels.) we'll see if I can capture the look... I assume that was the gray one that looks goldish brown now lol...

AMT 1960 Chevy Apache
disconovaman replied to Flatout's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That's a good looking truck. I could see it cruisin town... -
A fellow club member bought this today and sent me these pics of it unboxed. I thought I'd share here if anyone is interested... I don't know much about it other than it's right hand drive... and there may be a 4X4 version too.

I cut the devil out of my thumb last night tryin to shave some molded door handles, bout to take my thumb off. lol I'm back in action today though... Charcoal grey on the green camaro!

Cool idea... I thought about doing this movie scene as a diorama for when it goes into the bay! lol

Thanks, It's actually the hatchback of my Nova. The car is all original with 32 thousand miles and the plastic stayed on the carpets for 37 years. It's still in great shape.

Added decals... These are the decals that you emailed me Snake. I slightly resized and printed them. They turned out nice. Thanks, and I've been working on another Glue bomb Revell Camaro that I shouldn't even care about... but it's my addiction. The wheelwells were "Hogged" out to appear "Stretched" but it wasn't gonna fly with me so I borrowed some from a monogram 24th Camaro to correct it, well... tried to... I've been working on sorting out the bodywork on that car... It's a total mess... Some builds leave you with so many questions in a bad way... this build is the craziest.

Good day for painting and getting this thread goin agian!? I'm working on the Street Camaro...(orange one) and looking at the box the car looks darker orange so I chose to go with Hemi Orange and to my wondering eye, does this color have blue and silver metallic in it? Never knew that, always thought it was a solid color. or maybe they got it wrong at modelmasters? Anyways, I'm goin with it!

So I assume there will be some new decals as well as some of the originals? Would like to see the wood grain decals in there too.

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
disconovaman replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
None of the "painted" kits are rescue-able The camaro is painted with automotive paint and it wont strip. The GTO has the engine so glued that it's welded to the chassis.. And he loved brush painting, It's not even worth the shipping cost...lol. The only cars that I can salvage are the non-painted Chevelles and only because I have a small Monogram flip nose Chevelle junkyard and U can use parts from those to fix these. I'll see what I have leftover from that. -
Looks greats Jeremy... I like those pad printed? BFG raised white letter tires.

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!

Making good progress John, I should have mine up on wheels soon but a trip to the flee-market and a collection of Glue bomb build ups has me sidetracked for the moment... -
I can tell you that I was Gung-Go about this year's CBR theme. Last year I waited til about March to announce my entry and actually started in April. I planned on the same this year but I was undecided on what to build so I've been slow to announce this year's entry... I'm serious about what I want to build now I still need one more kit to actually start the ball rolling. once I get that, I still want in... (If it's not too late).

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!

3 of my favorites... I plan on squeezing my 55 Ford in if I can find the inspiration... It's weird how sometimes I can see a project done and because of that reason just quit on it... I have to force myself to finish it... Also, I have the 72 Chevy Stepside longbed... and an 88 mustang, 66 Chevelle, Some dead 69 Camaros etc... etc... yeah, you know... -
"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
disconovaman replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
So I have this 69 Chevelle that needs to be finished... I can't even remember how long ago It was started (that long)... The color is Testors Enamel Burgundy Purple metal flake. and I haven't used that kind of paint for a long time... This build is inspired by a car that used to ride around our town in the 80's with this color (he called it Brandywine)... I built the car and painted it with Testors and was an exact match. I spent some time on it today and wet sanded and polished the paint. I hope to get this finished soon but aside from the body painted and some interior work it needs completely built. I officially am calling this my entry. -

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!

I'm glad to see all the progress with everyone's projects I enjoy reading and seeing updates. I wish I could get going on my 55 Ford... it's not in the cards this round I'm afarid. We have been trying to sell the house and we had a vacation scheduled right in middle of that... so for the past week I've been out of the state... Also I learned some sad news about one of our model car communities dear friend's passing. Bob Linkous was known for going the distance to find good build-ups and selling them cheap... So I have a memorial project for him planned and I will be sweeping the bench and working on that when I get home. In his younger days he was known for building old style oval dirt track cars... A friend of mine aquired one of his originals and I plan on building a replica of that car. Here is the orginal. I stopped by the Hobby Lobby today in Sevierville Tn. and picked up a Pepper Shaker for the build. It will be these colors, numbers, and sponsorship... along with pipe bumpers and some personal details of Bob's to connect him to the car. -
I have built models to represent all the cars I've owned and all the models went with the real cars when I sold them... here is my latest Nova and it's 1/25th scale replica...

I'm not aware of AMT having a police car version of the 75-79 Nova. I know the MPC version had the Squad Rod...but the kit you have built here is the AMT. I can tell because the proportions aren't correct to the 1.1. I have titled and insured 18 of these Novas and parted out atleast 30... I love the cars myself... my favorite bodystyle... The MPC 4th gen nova is the better one, although I have built dozens of the AMT kits too.

That looks like a 78... Looks good, nice build.

I want to build the concept Hurst Edition GTO can you imagine what effect this baby would've had on that era?
