  1. The red seats are the Monogram ones and the other two are 25th scale that are simular. I chose the ones that had matching back seats.
  2. My first order of business is to add the funky 80's seats to the Revell Kit.These are simular to the ones from the Monogram kit, with a little modifying I think they will look close. I started by cutting the seat floor out so the back seat will sit flush with the package tray.
  3. That's cool... at least I know where to find a set... I had a few of these Real 69's myself... To me, 69 Camaros are the best looking first gen, I always thought. Now I've got to add a Peuter metallic with blue interior 69 to the list cause I'm inspired!
  4. Are these the wheels from the Orange kit? Street Camaro Z28 #2230... I never had that issue but I love those wheels! I'll trade you something for them if you want too? ?
  5. The New Year is just around the corner and I want to start some new builds. I've built many Revell 69 Camaros and I'm putting this On The Workbench to show everyone the tricks that I've come up with to improve the kit over the years. I will be building all the 69 Monogam Camaros in their original Boxart form. I want to pay tribute to the kit that introduced me to the 69 Camaro. My favorite model kit is the Revell 69 Camaro, so I figured I would combine inspiring boxarts with a quality model kit to have the best of both worlds . Five cars will make up the series. They include Kit#2220, The Cream Twin turbo 69 Z28 Camaro, This will be the one I build here first. Kit#2230 The Orange Z28 Street Machine Kit#2201 The High Roller 4X4 Camaro. Had the kit when I was young...used it for the running gear... never had the desire for a 4x4 Camaro, but now that I'm older? I dig the boxart so why not? Kit# 2725 The Rampage Camaro. I already have this kit built but I'm going to build it agian because I wasn't really happy with the first outcome. And finally Kit#7457 I want to build a replica of the first Revell 69 Camaro kit that I built back in 1991. It was molded in blue so I painted the interior black put the white stripes on it and clear coated the body, a very simple boxart build. Thanks for looking and all comments and valadition is greatly appreciated... With that said, Lets build a Model...
  6. The GSX is looking great! I'm still chasing bodywork and I desided the color on the stripes needed white behind the decal to brighten them up. I'm in the middle of that work also. Working til midnight at my job takes alot of time away from my bench too so "Here and there and when I can" is stalling me at the moment, I'll get there though.
  7. Looks fresh Snake! I got a couple to build myself...
  8. Nice correction on the drip rail! I like where this is going. Corvettes are the American Exotic sports car! Never had the disire to own a vette, but I do think the potential for customizing can make the car individual. I think 56 to 67 vettes look best in stock form but 1968 and up there are no rules! The more wild the better!
  9. Oh, Sorry to hear that...?? I hope you're feeling better now... Our health isn't a laughing matter. We need you well so you can surprise us with these great modeling projects.?
  10. No way man! that hood scoop would have to stay. It screams street freak!
  11. That's a good looking kit. Always loved that car. Buick should've built more than just 276 Stage ones. The yellow is my favorite... I had a chance to buy a real GS back in the day, I passed on it... needed too much work. It was a street/strip car, (more strip than street). It had a fiberglass hood, bumper, fenders, and roll cage. Pretty cool car though.
  12. That's a little more like mine lol...
  13. Modeling on break at work? Love your dedication... You are making a run at it! put on some "East bound and down" and Go, son!
  14. You are one neat modeler I could learn a lesson or two lol... my bench looks like a tornado went thru a trailer park!
  15. Bodywork on the main body is under way. I shot some primer on the bare body just to see how bad it actually is. I gotta say... it's not as bad as I thought, with a little smoothing out and a little filler it'll be ready for some paint. Gettin r done... well trying atleast! ?
  16. Or you can scratchbuild a roll-back style ramptruck to fit an individual style. I doubt Moebius would be able to satisfy the majority of modelbuilders. Maybe a universal bed and frame would make everyone happy, lots of critics in the Modelcar world, sadly. I guess everyone has an opinion or something like that. I'd build it though lol...
  17. I think a Two Lane Blacktop 55 is on the wishlist of anyone who's a fan of the moviecar and builds models. I'd love to see a brand new Revell tool with this specific car like the other "One purpose" kits like the Foose ford and F&F Dodge charger. Thing is, the subject matter alone would sell the kit. the possibilities are endless with a street style gasser. Just like the Foose truck... everyone who said was a One Trick Pony, they were sure fooled. When Revell was in Full "New Tool Mode" back 10 or 12 years ago, why they didn't do a 55 Sedan is beyond me anyhow. I think as Gassers go, it's probably one of the most popular cars to straight axel IMO.
  18. Hmmmm, Dwayne Sounds like an interesting story... like when Hal gets trapped in the elevator with Tony Robins in Shallow Hal, in the scene where Hal says "You must do well with the ladies?" and Tony answers "Well, just one" and Hal replies "She Sounds Hot!" It's just that awkward banter between the two characters that make it Hilarious! Pretty nice surprise to see the updates though huh?
  19. I like the vibe... And a good chance to do a Boxart build... it's one of those kits that will look good the way it was meant to inspire kids... Mostly us at age12. ?
  20. Yeah man! I tried to find images of mural tint but never could. I swear this was a thing in the 70's...?
  21. A small update on the Blazer... I went on and painted the hood as a reward to myself for all my efforts with the bodywork goin on. I desided to try a more simple approach to insure I'd be able to finish it before the end of the year... well hopefully? It will have a Wimbledon white top but mostly it will be this seafoam aqua. These windows are in pretty bad shape so I painted them and I plan on adding decals as a banner. Thanks for looking... more later.
  22. Thanks guys! Thanks for the Interest and support. I just found an image of a real gulf station, resized it to fit in the background and positioned it behind the truck. Then I edited the picture by trimming the edges and antiqued the tones to give it an old timey look. It was the Reveil Surprise that I had planned for in the beginning. I tried finding an image of an abandoned station but the ones I found were so far gone that you couldn't tell it was ever a Gulf station, So I chose one that still is in business since the 50's.
  23. I was thinking about just grey primer this stuff is cheap, drys fast, and sands easy... from the dollar store. l like it because it's thin and dosen't hide detail like Testors primer does. I was also thinking about painting it off white... Cream, (as Monogram called it), like it was molded in.. would probably use Wimbledon white. I don't know what I'll do yet I'm still chasing body work... I'd like to see that primer you're talking about too, I may have to make a trip to Wal-Mart soon.
