Great build! I agree, hand laced wire wheels would be very nice but your build looks good even with the kit wheels.
  5. Finally finished this one. Thank you to all of you for following along and commenting. Posted in Under Glass here.
  6. Calling this one done. A very enjoyable build overall. The Fujimi kit was excellent and the various aftermarket parts I used fit very well and added a lot of realism to the finished model. I absolutely love the 250 GTO and although this one was my first, it definitely won't be the last. Thanks to all who followed the WIP. I appreciate all your comments very much! WIP here Aftermarket parts used: Hobby Design PE set, Hobby Design 250 GTO exhaust tips, Historic Racing Miniatures 250 GTO resin engine, KA Models aluminum velocity stacks, decals from Le Mans Decals, Model Factory Hiro wire Borrani wheels, Model Car Garage battery, resin & PE steering wheel.
  7. Looking awesome so far!
  8. Interesting scale for a road car. Looking great so far
  9. Got some more pieces attached to the body. Also assembled the door/trunk handles and hood handles. Hopefully I'll finally be able to finish this tomorrow. BTW, does anyone know if the front circular vents and/or the side vents have any mesh on the inside on real GTO's? Thanks.
  10. Good looking Mercedes. I like the color
  11. Wow incredible work Bill! Keep the updates coming!
  12. Very cool. Looking great so far
  13. Nearing completion. Got the body clear coated, polished and then painted the inside Tamiya flat black and titanium silver. Assembled all of the lights, wipers etc and attached the windows and window trim PE parts. Hopefully I can finish this over the weekend! Thanks
  14. Great job. Enjoyed seeing this one come together, even though it seems to have given you alot of headaches! A truly unique 308 GTB!
  15. Looking very nice as usual JC
  16. Great job, looks like the perseverance paid off!
  17. Good looking build. Is this the Tamiya kit?
  18. Thanks for all the comments and following along. Happy to inspire some more 250 GTO builds; can’t wait to see em. Decals look sufficiently dry so I’ll put down the first clear coat tonight...
  19. Looking forward to seeing this build, especially the HD PE set. Looks like an absolutely awesome kit
  20. Thank you Bruce. I cut the decals at the panel lines when they were semi dry. After applying decals I dried them out a bit with a hair dryer and then carefully made the cuts.
  21. Great builds!
  22. Wow very cool build!.
  23. Polished the body and got the decals on. Roundel decals were slightly too large and a little transparent but i’m happy with the result. I hope the clear coat goes on without any problems and also hides some of the mistakes with the decals . Thanks for looking
