Not me, seems fair. Beats $300-350 for the original if you can find one. The improvements sound great.

From a post on Jamie's FB page: Call me Tim The Keeper of Secrets. I've been keeping this one since early fall 2019. Round2 will be issuing a 1/25th scale International Transtar CO4070A model kit. This is not a direct reissue of the 1973 Ertl kit #8000 as those molds/tools are long gone. It's not a re-pop or a re-issue. The new version of the Transtar CO4070A cabover is a 100% NEW TOOL. Round2 using my original Ertl #8000 kit had it 3D scanned to create CAD drawings so that the kit could be reworked and created again. Each part had to be removed from the sprues and scanned. The NEW TOOL will feature new parts layout, a new chrome tree with different chrome parts than the original. Some shapes that the original kit didn't capture or didn't fit as well as they should have been corrected. Round2's design and creative guys have been working on this for months and months with the 1st test shots being run 2 months ago. After sorting out issues and trouble spots and corrections made, another run of test shots were just made with more tweaking and subtle fixes to be made before the final release of the kit which Round2 is hoping will be late spring. I've been knee-deep in this from the beginning and am extremely pleased that Round2 has brought this to fruition. Here are some of the subtle changes you will see in the Round2 NEW TOOL AMT branded International Transtar CO4070A: 1 color plastic (no red plastic to cause paint issues) New parts layout. Cleaner molding parting seams. Non-chromed 5th wheel. Non-chromed spoke wheels. Non-chromed air cleaner piping. Non-chromed manifold and lower exhaust pipes. Air horn shape corrected with open trumpet ends - no more flat end with large visible seam. Right hand step reworked to clear the tire. Front axle placement adjusted to clear battery box. Front axle track-width narrowed so the tires sit under the cab properly. Optional chrome plated 10-hole Alcoa Front Runner steer wheels 1 piece vinyl tires Separately molded windshield A-pillar wind deflectors. Round2's art department will be producing a new instruction booklet, new decals and new box art (in the flavor and style of the original kit). You won't be disappointed with this NEW TOOL kit. It builds as easily if not easier that the 1973 Ertl original. I built this test shot on Tuesday. This is a great time to be a truck modeler! Tim

Well, the squirrels are getting itchy, once the load straps come in, I'll have to make the tie downs for the trailer. The screen for the "protector" on the front of the trailer arrived so I can start on that. I need to figure out the load, looks like RR ties but they seem a little small, might be landscape timbers.
-
I'm waiting on wheels and tires from Jamie as well. Had to add wheels/tires for the trailer. Watched the movie again, thought the trailer had 5 spokes but looks like 5 holes. Trailer is almost together, have to paint some stuff first, then it goes together, minus the wheels/tires. The longer I wait, the more I think to add....BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH squirrels

A little progress, color is on the cab and hood, details on the hood are done. I'm stalled on the cab for a bit, decided to do door signs. Just spent 2 hours in Photoshop getting the artwork done and of course the printer decides it wants attention before printing on decal paper. That done, decals are printed and will have to dry for a day before the seal coatings gets applied. Then another day to dry and by mid-week I should be able to get them on the cab. Wish I had thought of this last week...... Then it's on to clear coat over the decals and interior install before mounting the cab. Cab lights, mirrors, door handles, air cleaner, lube filter, stack and then I can start fitting the flatbed. Have parts for the searchlight coming from down under so I may have to park this one for a bit. Maybe I should go back to out of box builds, that way I wouldn't need to pause projects waiting for parts? Eh, been there done that, this is more fun.

This is gonna be tough on many levels. Research is going well, have some details to get straight. First problem, the 5 hole rims on the tractor. Placed the order with Jamie now I wait. Probably need to have the wheels and tires in hand before setting the suspension on the chassis as the tires might be a little different size than stock. I have the trailer kit, using the AMT fruehauf and calling it close enough. Need to check some details if I can see them. It would be nice to have access to the many stills taken during filming.......I have parts coming from England and still have more to order. AITM Brockway 361 is in hand and I have the Autocar A64B kit for the chassis donor. Looks like I'll have to shorten the frame. Once I have the trailer details finalized, I'll start building that first.

Still looks good! -
This will be a challenge on multiple fronts. The truck flipped over early in the movie so there aren't many scenes of it. As a result, there isn't much info on it. I've been able to find enough to do a decent job, the decals for the doors will be tough. Parts so far, AMT Autocar A64B for the chassis (may need to be shortened), Cab and hood from AITM (arrived an hour ago), rear wheels and tires from Jamie (just ordered), front wheels and tires from the Freightliner kit (leftover from the Brockway 6 wheel dump build). That should do it for the cab, I will need a rooftop a/c unit, should have one in the parts box. Then the trailer. Have 2 flatbeds on order, will decide which one to use when they arrive. I have the load figured out so I think the trailer will be the easier of the two but I haven't started yet!

Progress, I have a rolling chassis, just needs some accessories. Cab mounts are fit, might need a little tweaking at the end. Detroit is home, took a bit of finess to get it in there. The only big thing left on the cab is the installation of the short fenders behind the hood. This may prove more difficult than moving the cab forward! Once that is done, hood and cab can go to paint. Bed has been shortened about an inch to get the right look, will be headed off to paint soon. Then the searchlight fab begins....

Yeah, I grabbed 3 of them. I see he dropped the 359. I still have a 360 and 760 but something about the look of a set back front axle..... -

Well, since I can't use the one I'm building now, I think I'll throw in with the Widow Woman's Brockway 361 from the movie Convoy. Waiting for the Brock from AITM, have the donor chassis and trailer is on the way. I need to watch the movie again for details, like I need an excuse! -

An old Autocar would be nice, AITM has the 50's hood conversion for the A64B kit. AITM has an old International that might go well, so many choices! -
I already looked, they have a Ford and a White fantasy. I remember what the website looked like, I recall it was a smaller caster who had a small number of offerings.
-
His site only shows one, I recall at least 4 maybe more. I've sent him an e-mail request.
-
I recall a vendor that was offering 1950's-1960's era short school buses with various fronts, ie, Chevy's, Ford's etc with several different years available. I don't have the link, probably forgot to save it. Does this sound familiar to anyone? They were resin casts in 1/25 scale. Thanks!

Great project. I had to move on of those many years ago, always in the way of my locker. Great progress, I admire your skills! -
Ok, thought I had read you moved them to the top and didn't see them. Thanks!
