  1. I'm liking that A-Car myself!
  2. Thanks, I thought about blocking up the front, but the one I saw a few years back had a slight rake to it so I lowered the rear slightly and called it quits. At this point, I don't want to do any mods to the suspension, I'm afraid the little twist I have now will just magnify. I already had the interior cut down, almost the same as yours, just have to start tweaking it and work on getting the cab to look right on the chassis without needing to do mods to the engine mounts. Just a matter of time and some thinking.
  3. Started my next project while waiting for parts from down under for the Convoy Mack build. This will be a 1956 White 3000, loosely based on a truck I saw at a show some years ago. I started with the Lindberg Dodge L700 kit as a donor for the chassis, engine and interior. I have to say the Dodge L700 kit is probably the worst injection molded kit I've ever worked with. The first chassis developed a bad warp somewhere in the assembly so I took very careful measures with the second one. The BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH thing still warped, but not as bad. Can't figure it out, nothing is stressed, parts just placed not stressed.....checked after every part.... then the next morning, a little twist in the frame. Instructions are almost useless. I do have a decent rolling chassis, waiting for paint. Fuel tanks are from the Rubber Duck AITM kit. I'm doing new tanks for that so these were surplus. Cut down, need to mount and maybe add steps. Cab is from Jimmy Flintstone, comes with the bumper. Cleaned up well. Tried a primer I saw recommended in another thread but it just bubbled up so back to what's left of my Mr. Resin stock. Now comes the hard part, trying to fit an interior (will use the Dodge kit parts) and mount the cab. Once that is done, I should be able to get the cab into paint. I have a paint scheme in mind, should look sweet when it's done. I did drop the rear suspension on the chassis a bit, it still sits a little butt-high but not as bad as it was.
  4. I was going to suggest checking out Auslowe's site, lots of left-right conversions and other stuff to modify American truck kits into Aussie trucks. The R685 will be a better start, as said above, and more economical. The price on the AITM Duck kit is steep if you don't need it. Not that it isn't a good kit, I have one under build, but why do more than you have to?
  5. Just announced: New from AITM! New releases for November 2018: Autocar C-65 1959 Peterbilt 351/280
  6. Thanks! I like "different"!
  7. Thanks, LOL the prices on the 'bay will be going up! Maybe I should have bought up a bunch before posting!
  8. It's odd, it's different, I like it!
  9. Thanks Hermann, I like the odd and off-beat stuff.
  10. Thank you Charles, coming from you that means a lot!
  11. Thanks, looks close to the 46 Mack I used as inspiration.
  12. Thanks! Satisfaction guaranteed or double your garbage back!
  13. Calling this one done. Monogram Garbage Truck gave the body, Revell 1941 Chevy pickup donated the cab and chassis. Wheels are from Jimmy Flintstone. I remember the garbage trucks when I was growing up had garbage cans hanging from under the body. The packer body in the Monogram kit is small for a truck, but seems just right for a a smaller pick up chassis. Paint is Testor's Model Master Acrylic Gloss Green and Gloss White. Tires are Polly Scale Grimy Black. Rear fenders are scratch, see build thread for how.
  14. Looking good. I just saw one like it this weekend, the same one we had a local air museum for many years.
  15. The bulk is now done, I just need to add the details and do a little touch up painting. Next update will be "Under Glass"
  16. Google search came up with this: https://www.thepartsbox.com/shop/interior/ice-in-car-entertainment/cb-radio/
  17. I really liked the old Chevy wrecker, amongst others: http://www.pbase.com/baywing/pvaths18
  18. I went this morning, smaller show, but they had a few interesting trucks and got to talk to some folks I haven't seen in a while.
  19. !940's and 50's. Just found the dragline version to go with it! I've seen one or two at antique equipment shows. Love watching the old cable jobs work though not many people left that know how to run them.
  20. Made up some rear fenders last night, wrapped a piece of flat stock around a socket, secured with tie-wraps and let it cook in some hot water followed by a cold bath to set the shape.
  21. Found this mint in box 1/25 scale Bantam at a truck show last weekend. Will make a good load for the lowboy. Not sure if I want to take the wrap off the tracks.....
