  1. I realize I’m 7 years (!) late to the party but I thought I’d throw in my 2 cents worth and let you all know that Parts by Park offers the correct dashboards in resin now.
  2. My girlfriend was thrilled to find these models issued in tin boxes for me! I won this in the raffle at the Mid Iowa modelers Expo NNL4 show last weekend. I gave it to my girlfriend. ?I also got these at the show. The Plymouth fills the hole in in my “USA Oldies” Mopar collection. The Highway Pioneers kit is 1904 Rambler. I picked up the ’36 Ford chopped top as I have an issue of that kit that didn’t come with this top.
  3. Nice! Darn if I didn’t miss all the cruise nights this year ?
  4. Looks nice & I like the color. With a car/chassis that long to work with you have quite a generous cargo area, but Oh!, that overhang!
  5. The color works very well with the decals. Nicely done!
  6. Great color. clean build. I'm not much for T-buckets either, but this one's nice!
  7. Thank you both for your responses. Steve, exactly what color(s) do you use? your windows look great!
  8. Juha, glad to hear you're alive and kickin'! You have been quite an inspiration to me. I have used your window tinting technique in the past using the Humbrol colors you suggested in the article that I read. This alone adds so much realism to a build! Would you be so kind as to suggest current paint colors/brands to simulate the green tint for windows as Humbrol has discontinued those colors? Thanks! And please post some WIP and/or finished projects on this website!
  9. Very well done! I finished the '56 version about a year ago that, after years of sweating over, didn't turn out half as nice. If you haven't already, please post some pics in the small scale thread.
  10. Very snappy!? Nicely done!
  11. Great build and the night setting of the diorama is very unique! BTW who's getting buried??
  12. The Comet was a 1960 model and was intended to be an Edsel. I believe some were even registered as such. Since the ‘60 Edsel ended production in Dec ‘59 the Comet became a stand alone brand in ‘60 and marketed as a Mercury beginning in ‘61. The taillights on the ‘60 Comet are the same ones used on the ‘60 Edsel.
  13. Don’t forget Highway Patrol! Great variety of cop cars: Buick, Dodge,Mercury, even an Olds, not to mention all the rides of the criminal element!
  14. I agree! All North American cars between ’55 &’65!
  15. Looking over your pics again it’s dawned on me that I had many of these back in the day. These were some of the first models I built and were lost during a move. ?
  16. Don’t know what you paid but you certainly got some really cool stuff! 1961 is one of my favorite years for cars; a few years either side of ‘61 as well. You lucky duck!
  17. Thanks for posting all the pics. Glad to see your wins! Looks like you did very well. Congratulations!
  18. Thank you! Lots of good looking models there, but I kinda meant posting pics of your award winners. (I can see the trophies in your trunk ?)
  19. You’re welcome! And it’s John ( not Jim)
  20. Lucky guy indeed! That’s a very cool display case and looks like you won some trophies too!?! Congratulations are in order! Could you possibly post pictures of the winners, please?
  21. You got some nice stuff there, Rich. I had the model A pickup when I was a kid. I remember taking it to my aunt and uncle’s farm and filling it with the chicken feed. The chickens were very concerned! Lol! Wish I still had it. Btw what is the scale of the Cris Craft?
  22. Very realistic looking. Beautiful work!
