  1. The 3D printers are becoming a lot more intriguing. The latest issue of MCM #215 is “all about 3D printing” is very informative and proclaims the future is here. Makes it sounds doable even for a tech illiterate like me! Seems like almost anything is possible, limited only to your imagination or ever expanding file online.
  2. I like the color combination. I especially like the the seats. The color and texture of material give it a soft, cozy, inviting feeling.
  3. Both models look fantastic! You did a superb job on the Cunningham. I’m working on one now and can only hope to get the body as smooth as yours. What was your choice for the white paint? And how and/or what did you do/use to create the brake cooling(?) vents on the lower front fenders/fascia? They are very nicely done! (And sorely lacking in the model kit)
  4. Hmmmm. The cat’s out of the bag but the models aren’t? ?
  5. I have not seen these models in the Pepsi livery. Very cool! I love Pepsi products, Coca Cola not so much. It’s great to see something besides Coca Cola on an AMT kit! Do I have to work for Pepsi to get one? (I did work for Pepsi loading trucks one summer in the ‘70’s. Does that count?) I’ll have to check out the surgical blades too!
  6. Out of the three I think the Jag looks the best. Do you know if there were any other customizing kits in this series?
  7. I had forgot to mention what a cool model the Jag is. I have a custom Cunningham kit, missing all the custom parts except the roof, but had to post a picture of the the box as the art is so similar to the Jag’s. The Crazy Custom is reminiscent of Kooky’s rod (from the “77 Sunset Strip” tv show). I have maybe 25 or so Pyro, Lindberg reissues and Highway Pioneer kits that I hope to get to some day soon. This thread and these models have once again piqued my desire to get them built!
  8. That’s quite an impressive collection! They are all so well detailed. I particularly like the whimsy of the Rolls Royce(?) hot rod and the NNL Show Team.
  9. The MG is cool! I have had good results with the older Humbrol enamel paints. I bought a bunch during a close out maybe 30 years ago and most are still quite usable. I’ve bought some more recently but have not worked with them much, but they seem ok. I did try mixing some with some Model Masters paint and airbrushed the mix. The result was less than desirable but I think that had more to do with my inexperience with the airbrush. It didn’t look any worse then the previous failed attempts. I will have to give it another shot now that I’ve prepped the body for the 4th time?
  10. Very nice! I like the color!
  11. Cute! Very clean build nicely detailed!
  12. Thanks Rich. The front appears to be too flat and the bumper too wide. Also, the rear deck seems to be too short but it is what it is. Wheels and tires are from the ‘56 Ford kit.
  13. I missed this one earlier. Fantastic as always. Your foiling of the scripts and lettering on the hood and tailgate are beyond belief!
  14. Sizzlin’!
  15. 1:32 Lindberg Reissue
  16. I do have one or two original issue ‘56 Fords as well as the reissue. The originals are glue bombs I got off EBay but I’m anxious to get them out and see exactly what I have after reading your post! The Mercury does have both taillights but still needs its rear bumper. A replacement would be much appreciated! I will pm you shortly. I would of course appreciate any info and pics you have to share but I would encourage you to post them on the site as there certainly others that would be interested or would gain interest after seeing your posts. Perhaps you could post under the small scale thread that blunc started if if not under the model car kit reviews.
  17. 1:32 - Revell/AMT ‘56 Chrysler
  18. Thanks for the kind words and the heads up on the small scale builds. I will post this build there too. I have several other 1:32 projects on the back burner and if they ever come to a boil I will be sure to post them there as well.
  19. Thanks, Scott! I always thought the (outside mounted)scoops looked cool and even better since they actually served a purpose!
  20. Wow! Thanks Rich! Your collection is overwhelming! So many models I didn’t even knew existed and many I wished I had! There’s so many I’d like to know about the history/ story. Since I started this thread about the ‘56 Chrysler I have to ask about the white Chrysler with a red interior. It appears to have the Imperial/300 grille. Is this one you modified or scratch built? I have always been intrigued with the figures that came with the kits as well, and it was cool to see them included in your builds. The car kit news and reviews would probably be the most appropriate section to post about these models (though without a heads up I would probably miss out simply because there is so much content on this sight. I will however hit the button to follow you ?) Perhaps MCM could add a model history section to the site. Although I can’t speak for the community at large, I for one would love to learn more of the history and your insight of these and other early kits (Highway Pioneers, Aurora, etc.) I found it quite interesting that there were two different versions of the ‘56 Ford. And Atlantis must think that there is still enough interest in them to reissue at least some of these early kits. (I’m still waiting for the release of the ‘56 Buick.) I don’t find this subject boring at all. Thanks so much for posting! -John
  21. Looking forward to them!?
  22. Looks grand! (Pontiac pun intended ?) Very sharp looking, clean build!
