I'm not sure that'll work, I'm building a Fiat X1/9 in 1:20.
-
Im staying home.

Now that, I think about it....I cut myself the times today, not unusual when I'm doing custom work, but it was all on the same finger. Also, I now feel luck to have lived through using the jig saw. Actually, make that 4 cuts on the same finger, dont know how I missed it, I swear, I dont even feel em anymore.

Are there any aftermarket parts for 1:20 scale models?

Ive always liked driving the beetle, even though it's a chick car (never admitted that before). I could drive the new one without being too embarrassed.

Any one ever have a day like this? This morning, Im sitting at my computer desk, reading my email and the news. I reach for my coffee...over it goes. Im at work, I pick up my wire strippers, strip a wire, reach out to put down the tool, and drop it from a foot and a half above the table. I put a speaker in the front door of a Silverado, get up, turn around, and walk straight into the open back door of the Silverado. Get home, sit down to check my mail again, reach out for my beer and not it over, not as bad as the coffee, but still annoying. I clean up the spilled beer, and get another, take a couple sips, the next time I reach for it....you guessed it, over it went. I currently have a new beer on the desk, guess I'm just testing my limits. Just thought Id share, hope you got a good laugh out of it, I finally did.

I thought I did this last night, guess I forgot to save it or something, so, Ill try again. Just one more pic for today, one with the light in the sub box on. Thanks for looking.

I dont know much at all about bikes, but it appears the only brake line is going to the front wheel, assuming the other ?"handle"? is the clutch. So, I have to say model.....Ive only got one right so far though.

A little update. You couldn't really see through the glass too well, so I put a red LED inside. My camera batteries died though, so no picture with the light on yet. And the battery and resistor hide up in front of the radiator.

I think I'm gonna try to build it myself first, if it doesn't come out right, Ill go the pre-made route. We used to have a "tool" for bending plastics at work, but it left with a former employee. Anyone have any suggestions for that?

My dad gave an old Fiat X-19, 1:20 scale model that he would like me to build and give back to him. He had one when I was born and was in a horrible accident in it ( he doesn't even remember it), but still talks about that car, so Id like to do it up like his in as much detail as I'm capable of and give it back to him for Christmas. Id like to also make a really nice display case for it. I grabbed a TV base from work, we do home theater and hang most of the TV's on the wall, so the bases go in the trash. It it really nice, smooth, shiny black plastic and I figured it would make a nice base. What I'm wondering is if there is somewhere I can get a custom made clear cover for it or how to make it myself, and what to use? I was thinking curved from the top front to bottom and flat on the sides, raise the car up a little and put a mirror under it, maybe a couple lights. I think I can do most of it myself, but I'm not sure I can do the clear pieces. Any Ideas? Or anyone who does it, on here, I'm happy to pay for it.

Well, its good you know all of yours work, I was able to make one post (the one I started this thread with) from mine and now cant figure out how I did it, cause the new browser wont work now. At least my desktop is back online though.

ive had my smartphone for quite a while. ive alwasy be able to view the forum, but never make a post or reply etc. from mhy phone, so this is just a test to make sure the new browser i just installed actually works here. no need to reply, unless you really want to. oh, and to the moderators, please leave this for a day before you delete this, i know it useless to everyone else, but I like to check out the MCM forum even, when my internet is down (moneys tight, and work pays for the phone). thanks for helping.

Stalled projects; we all have them.
slant6 replied to whale392's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well I actually do have A.D.D. and a slight bit of O.C.D., no joke, Ive been diagnosed with both, ask my Fiance about the volume control or the CD and DVD racks. I have at the moment, 3 stalled projects, one of which are that back to the future cars, so 5 If you count those. I really think for me it is an A.D.D. thing, cause when Im really into a project, I finish it and even try to learn whatever skills may be necessary to finish it, and I suppose that might be the O.C.D. kicking in. Ill be a lot of us (modelers) might have one or the other or both, just base on the fact that, when my A.D.D. was discovered, nobody even knew what it really was, thus it was never handled correctly. At the very least though, you've always got another build to go back to when you're done with the one you're on -
Ill just have to make it work. Wouldn't be right without it.

I just want to clarify on my previous post, the one with all the old kits. I mostly meant parts in the first picture could go If anyone happened to notice something they want. Although the Diamond Reo and the Vette can go too. The big VW belonged to my uncle and has some sentimental value, and the Fiat and Rabbit are going back to my dad when finished. I apologize If I wasn't clear. There are a buttload of parts in that parts box though, so, if anybody's interested, Ill lay it out and take some pictures. Again, sorry for not being clear the first time.

Barely fits, I think Im going to have to do something to the firewall.

I shows up better in the picture than it does in the case. Im just gonna leave it, but in the future, Ill try to polish out the mistakes. I just really dont know how the super glue got on my left thumb, when I had it in my right hand and my hands never touched.

Thank You! I Hope it ends as sweet as its starting! I'm doing a lot of new stuff here

Just judging from what I see at work. If I had to pick a reliable, fuel efficient car, it would be a Toyota. The commercials dont lie, there are still a lot of old ones on the road, I see them every day. I dont know about repair/upkeep firsthand, but from what I'm told that's not to bad either, especially if you learn how to do the small stuff yourself, i.e. oil changes, brakes, tune ups, etc., etc. Not my first choice for style or fun, but they sure seem reliable.
