  1. I saw on Tamiya's website that they will be releasing a Aston Martin DBS kit, but it just says coming soon. Do any of you know when this is being released?
  2. Thanks! The wires and do-dads are what its all about on this one, Ive got enough do-dads, but I think I might have to buy some more wires.
  3. I vote on a lot of these, but haven't commented yet. I'm going with real. Looks like an old picture, and I'm thinking that the trim from the fender to the door would be "straighter" on a model.
  4. A couple of new pictures from my build's. To those of you trying to help with my pictures. I think my camera might be busted, it recently started making a very loud clicking noise when I shut off the power and the lens retracts into the body. Guess it might be time for a new one. Also could use some help if anyone has some suggestions. Ive decided that I'm going to run the wiring on the outside of the body as well, but I can see a lot of what appear to be zip ties. Anyone have any ideas on how to replicate those, besides just painting a black stripe? I was thinking a single piece of wire and drill a hole behind it so that I don't have to glue it to the body, but any suggestions are welcome.
  5. Well, thanks to everyone for trying to help with my pictures. Ill have to try and set up a spot with better lighting for pictures. For now, I found if I put them on the kitchen table they come out a little better. Any way heres a few shot of progress up till tonight. Thanks for looking. Even if the pictures aren't so great.
  6. Ive never used them. Can I make them, or is it something that should be bought? How exactly do I use them?
  7. "Ive got that button"!!! I use it all the time! What the hell am I doin wrong?
  8. Well I cant find it, and im sure the instructions are lost by now. Guess you guys will just have to live with my crappy pictures.
  9. Im no great photographer, but I dont think I have a macro button. If anyone knows how to use this camera a little better, Im all for some tips. It a Canon Power Shot A70.
  10. I decided to build my BTTF trilogy set all at the same time. Not sure why, but It didn't occur to me how much of a hassle building 3 cars at the same time would be. Ive got all my parts sorted out and paint and parts ordered, I also have a lot of reference materials from movie pictures, and the real cars, and even some props that I intend to put in. Ive only just started, but even with having to juggle parts from 3 cars, Im having fun so far.
  11. Now that you mention it, I used to have a pair, cant for the life of me remeber where I left em;.
  12. I know they didnt make one, but I saw some concept pix of a "new" firebird a while back, and they looked nasty. Your build fits right along with em. looks great!
  13. Thanks for all of the advice. Ive decided to go with Model Master Stainless Steel Metalizer and Anthracite Gray Metallic for the nose and tail sections. My girlfriends gonna be p!@@ed when she see another $20 on top of the $40 for parts and $80 for the 3 kits (thats $140, for those keeping count). My excuse, but, I really wanted it baby! (insert sad puppy dog eyes here)
  14. Does anyone know of a paint, rattle can or airbrush, that looks like stainless steel, like on the Delorean's? I have 3 to paint.
  15. I saw a tip on here about using the wire from inside a phone cord, I havent tried it, but it looks like it would be pretty accurate. Just make sure no one is using the phone you're about to destroy.
  16. Not sure If you'll wanna use any of mine, and I havent posted all that many anyway, but feel free if you want to, It'd give my ego a very much unneeded boost.
  17. These are all excellent tips. I just dont think Im ready for this advanced work right now though. I really dont want to screw up these bodys, so I think Im going to leave them as. I will definately refer to thes tips in the future though, Im always looking to learn new techniques. I hope this thread helped someone else, and I would really like to thank you guys for all the tips. Im sure youll be hearing from me on this again soon.
  18. Almost done. Got a couple more days of work to do. I got all of the interior done. I did a headliner too, but I forgot to take a picture, trust me, it looks great. My rollcage ended up not fitting correctly, so I just scrapped it. I still have to chrome the bumpers, and finish painting the wheels.
  19. All very helpful tips. I guess Ill just have to get into it and try it. little nervous though. I dont want to screw these up.
  20. Its actually not BMF. I masked it after painting and painted a small silver pinstripe. Good eye. I wasnt sure about doing the wheel wells, but now Im thinking about it.
  21. I will soon be getting the Back to the Future models (all 3 movies, all 3 kits). I would really like to open the doors. I have never cut open panels on a kit that weren't meant to be opened, so I need to know all you guys know about this, what tools to buy, where to buy em, where to cut, what to do when it is cut, ect., ect,. ect. You guys have always had top notch tips, so lets have at it, gimme all you got.
  22. If I had seen this a month ago I would have done this a little differently. Im gonna keep this in mind for a future project though, great tip! Will it work the same for trunk too?
  23. I finally got something done worth posting. This is my first attempt at two tone paint and BMF, so be gentle. I had to redesign the hinges to allow it to open correctly with the grille in place. I used the ends of some 6 amp diode's I snatched from work. They worked out well....so far.
  24. Im not that interested. Thats more than my real car is worth...either of em.
  25. I know this is a little off topic. But does anyone know where to get this model? Ive only ever found the race version already build (the green one, metal body). I would love to build this car.
